Does the Wraith illuminator have a remote switch lead option?
Hello Chris, The torch I’ve been asked to use does not, but I’ll contact Andy at the company and ask him if he can make those 👍
I’ve been speaking to Andy, and he said he can’t make a remote switch for a torch with a dimmer switch on it, it’s either on or off 🤷🏼♂️
Number 12 is the best shot
Thanks Michael, but that competition ended last August 👍😄
nice
The image looks ok but the rangefinder is about as much use as tits on a fish!! They'd be better off with the rangefinding tech and the NETD rating from their monoculars. It would be some scope then.
You’re right chap , that’s old technology and an old video. Things have moved on drastically now, and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future
Good video that young man. Pleased you didn’t show us your white bits from holiday.
I’ll save that for when we’re in Cozy Korner next time 🥰🥰👍 Did you bring me any chopsticks back 🤷🏼♂️
Very interesting, David. I was impressed by that one fox that just sat there, as though in a theatre waiting for the action to start. Clever mount for the thermal, too.Well done. It is quite good to see you getting around so well these days, too. Malta, huh? All the best, Jim
Hi Jim, Well we were waiting for a ticket to South Carolina, but jet2 don’t go there 😉😂😂
Hi mate another awesome vid as always , any news wen the update is out for the colour change on the alpex cross hair
Hello and thank you 👍 No I’ve not heard anything from my little contact at HikMicro yet but I know they’ve been very busy with an international conference they held, Robin will have a video out soon with Fieldsports Britain about that soon. Just keep checking your app for a red update alert, I look every day 👍
@@predatorprotectionuk OK thx mate , I'm always checking to lol
@@fxking.25 I’ve just WhatsApped my contact in the technical team at HikMicro asking for an update, so standby 👍🫵
@@predatorprotectionuk do well thx very much 👍
Nice to see you back pard. Still not done nothing myself with the videos but think I am making headway at last. Did upload one using the program you use but when uploaded there was lots missing from it so deleted it, I hate moder technology 😅😅. Those rounds are making some thump pard, they won't run far from that.
Call me later mate, I’ll be home by 16:10
Great as usual! Thank you.
Cheers Mick, although I see someone wasn’t happy with Fox number 2 🤔🫢 Naughty Step for me
@predatorprotectionuk unfortunately it isn't an exact science, these things happen! Hope you had a good time away. Regards Mick
@mickibbett2120 great thanks matey, very hot though 🥵🥵
Magnifique vidéo 👍👍👍👏👏👏👏 avec de très jolis tirs 👍👍👍👏👏👏👏 !!🤗🤗
Merci Bien 👍👍
Great video Dave with plenty of action. And that looks a decent ir touch as well. Certainly worked with the Alpex and didn't white or anything
I’d buy one Jim 👍
Hello , love the video as always , lots of interesting information , you said you wold be driving round with no lights on as you have a thermal spotter on the roof ? have you found away of turning the day time running lights off on your car as i would like to switch them of on mine when im off road shooting . keep the videos coming great work
Hi Kevin, Yes, I spent almost 3 years building vehicles for the military and law enforcement, so I’ve got a switch that cuts off all the lights, reversing camera, bells , keys left in gongs, you name it, it off. Just put back on the seatbelt and it returns the car to road use. It’s very useful for creeping around unnoticed
I've found that a cheap green laser, 18650 battery with on off switch..not just momentary .has been wonderful to find foxes..mounted with a figure 8 clamp to the scope. Does the alpex have an option for a finer reticle? Like the thermal driving picture.... apparently some people eig up a reversing camera to the front of car.. Good shooting Dave. Thanks.
Hi Sam, Yes there are some very fine reticle choices, but sometimes a viewer would struggle to see them, look at the clip from Jethrow, you’ll see what I mean
@@predatorprotectionuk jethrow?
@misterlewgee8874 on the video
You are in 'fine form' in this video David. Interesting viewing as always, Thanks.
Thanks Reg, what’s the weather like in Canada?🇨🇦
@@predatorprotectionuk Today sunny, and forecast high of 24C / 75F, in my little part of this country. :)
@regsparkes6507 it was 40 every day and 26 at night in Malta 🥵🥵🥵
A wouldnt say fine form after second one.
@bengrain4986 oh to be 100% perfect all the time eh ? It must be great
Another cracking video 😊
Thank very much for watching matey 👍
@predatorprotectionuk could I please ask for your advice, I was talking to a m8 today. He's looking for a pair binoculars, something he can look at the moon and stars and wildlife, and record, and night vision, his budget is around £500 ,he's not a shooter but lives in the country, any ideas, I've gone down the rabbit hole of looking then though "I know a man that knows his stuff lol" ???
@@crazycressy7986 not for £500. There’s not a lot that will be much good at that number unfortunately
@predatorprotectionuk just spoken to him again, he just wants them for watching wildlife in the fields
Well done David knocking them down again holiday must have done you good lol 👍 started harvest up here so be out myself soon 👍
Cheers Pete, first time I’d been away since Christmas 2021 . Bloody hips 🫢🤷🏼♂️
@@predatorprotectionuk sorted now then no holding you back lol 😆
Good to see you back on the air 👍, Good work on the foxes, that ir light seems to have a good range of adjustment. Could you go from full screen to tight square beam with just the front head adjument? Cheers
Hello Stephen, just screw the back portion in and out to go from flood to spot. I’m still getting used to it but it’s excellent 👍
@@predatorprotectionuk Ah yes, I think from what I heard from another chap on a forum, the rear adjustment may cause a slight shift in the alignment of the light (within the field of view) whereas if you can do your "on the night" adjustment with the front, it will stay exactly where you set it (on screen) just a thought for when your next testing 👍👍 So when setting up, keep the front one at the widest, then tighten the beam with the rear adjustment so it just fills the screen then don't touch the rear one anymore. Use the front to adjust in the field when magnifying etc. Be interesting to see how that goes. # And maybe like you said, when setting it up, adjust to a fairly tight beam and align the mount so it's just above the reticle, might help with grass reflection etc. I know it all sounds anal but nothing worse than having to fiddle to get torch aligned when your on a fox🤣
@stephenoshea1166 oh you can fiddle around for hours matey to get exactly what you need, I don’t think an hour of me doing that would have been appreciated 😄
@@predatorprotectionuk no not on video, 🤣
What was wrong with your condor spotter? Just brought one starting to worry about all the horror storys with them
Think it was just on loan for demonstration to viewers 👍 I shouldn't worry, from reading the forums, the issues have been resolved and they give a decent warranty anyway.
@stephenoshea1166 Thanks mate hoping I'm one of the lucky ones 👍
@@Shhooottteeerrr I was looking into it quite a bit as a condor was on my short list, ended up going for the habroks in the end, which Im very pleased with, although on some occasions I'd feel the monocular would be the the better choice, be good to have both if they weren't so expensive.🤣
Nothing wrong with it at all !! It was on loan demo. Treat all technical scopes like a new car or phone, sometimes they go wrong 🤷🏼♂️👍
Thanks Stephen, I think there may be some folks that have missed videos where I’ve stated that some of the kit I use is on loan. But thanks for explaining for me 👍👍
For measuring I use google earth. It has a measuring function on it that’s smack on, I’ve tested it against rangefinder and there’s not even a meter in it.
Wish the foxes around me were that quite
It just goes to show how different they are in other counties
I'm in Cornwall too, for me there's no rhyme or reason to it, depends on the fox and the night, maybe even the time of year.... ? , sometimes they'll come to the squeak like a well behaved pet, but more often, not so obliging, in fact sometimes a call sends them off in the other direction and you wish you just took the long shot 😂
@stephenoshea1166 they think it’s a ginsters pasty wrapper they can hear opening 😂😂
Were you using the 850 or 940nm David ?. Looks a decent bit of kit. And you did the poor old bugger a favour there too.
Hello chum, I’m sorry I failed to mention I was using the 850, I have been sent a 940 too, but will try that on rats, as the 850 didn’t seem to bother anything this weekend
Well done for getting skippy old chap 🤓
@ 7:36 only a kid from the 80's would fully understand 🤣🤣
Ah ! It’s detective lieutenant Frank Dreben 😀😀 I love all your films 👍👍 Thanks for watching mine
What a flog 👎
Hey mate, whats scope is that?
Alpex 4k non LRF
@@predatorprotectionuk Thanks for that, looking at the LRF option. How do you find the scope?
It’s very good during daylight and terrific at night. I think if you want a scope where you can change the image settings, then I’d recommend using the Sightmark Wraith 4k Max.
Excellent video. 👌. Got all the info I needed. Love the idea of the door buffers on the mk1, gonna nick that. 😂👌👌.
You help yourself chum, you won’t miss that button ever again 👍
Well done, lost count of how many you got!
14 that night in total, one technical error, I deleted a shot before I downloaded it 🤷🏼♂️🫢😁
What make lad
Ludicrous Lumens .
Looks great! Love the flashing accesories too 😂😂
Thanks Gary, They were a secret Santa present about 15 years ago, and I found them a while back and was amazed they still worked on the original batteries 😂
Glad to see the "disability" mods working chap
Ah ! My manbily clamp and ball mount has just arrived, and I’m hoping it’ll make a massive difference to the setup 🤞🏼 It certainly feels more solid now than the original did. Disabled, indeed 🫵😉
@@predatorprotectionuk
Simply top stuff
Thanks Sam
The thump of satisfaction, those rounds don’t half hit with a thud eh! Proper job two less to worry about. Great video as always fella.
Thanks very much chum, I’ve got some new ammo being built for me that does not exit the other side, but detonates inside turning the insides to jelly . They should be fun to use
Nice setup 😎
It is, but I’m still looking at things to improve, somewhere to put the caller remote for instance, and one viewer suggested a flask holder 😀👍
@@predatorprotectionuk lol and a fishing umbrella so you can shoot in the rain lol
@crazycressy7986 ah ! Let’s not go too mad here OK 😀😀
@predatorprotectionuk give it a few weeks and you will have a turret on your truck tub 😆
Nice one mate, great bit of kit, and still no shortage of volunteer foxes!
Hello Stephen, adults too, I was expecting to see youngsters as I’d not been over to that farm since last August, the week before my first hip was done
They'll be there for another time I expect.
Watched few of your videos now. You need to slow down a bit and get steadier that will stop the unnecessary misses, no shame in not shooting because you aren’t steady. Good vids tho.
Oh if only we lived in the perfect world. I’m always happy to take along someone to show me how to do it. Feel free to contact me chap, and I’ll sit and watch.
@@predatorprotectionuk just trying to offer a bit of friendly advice to help out that’s all. I used to miss A LOT! From rushing and flinching and someone told me to slow it way down and get steadier it helped out no end.
Yes I know chap, but I try to include the viewer into the actual event, so sometimes you will get shaky cameras and the occasional miss, but it’s as real as it gets. Most folks won’t show that, because they never miss, do they 🤔😉 Don’t give up, is what I’m trying to get across to folks new to shooting. Thanks for your support and the message though, hopefully folks will see the comments
@@predatorprotectionuk that’s fair enough. At least you have plenty to go at, the place looks absolutely riddled with foxes!
@@predatorprotectionuk Totally agree, I like watching several RUclipsrs, take 260 rips for example, seems a nice chap and fantastic at the long range shots, very entertaining. I notice recently starting to include the odd miss but only at a magpie or stone that's hundreds of yards away, but that's new. Maybe he never does miss a fox, but it sometimes seems a world apart from the up and coming shooter, I think the truth is , everyone does miss at times, I do, I can have a few cracking shots and then fluff up an easy one🤷. David keeps it real and relatable and has some cracking shots along the way too. There is definitely logic in taking your time, but then again there's plenty of times when foxes won't stand still for more than an odd second. If it's lambing season especially, you ask yourself do I take that split second chance or let it go to potentially take lambs after I've called it a night.
1.36 how many humans or cows did you kill after the bullet went through the fox and hedge , how did you get your licence my friend
You obviously know where I am chap, and what’s making up the surrounding area 👍 Good point well made. Answer None.
Their great chairs had one and sold it. Big mistake on my part🤦♂️
Oops
The puppy’s privates ?
No stopping you David the Ideal back chairs are a good bit of kit normally use mine in the pigeon hide with out the rests 👍
That’s the clever thing, you can easily remove the bit you don’t need, they’re so light too
Idleback chair has been around a long time now... never really taken off like they wanted. Too heavy and cumbersome really
I certainly wouldn’t say they were heavy David, not something you’d cart around over your shoulder like they suggested though
A very handy bit of kit Dave, so whats next I wonder? Perhaps a remote control rifle so you can just drive round a operate it from you driving position 🤔😁😂 your welcome 😂
Thermal on the roof, so I don’t have to keep driving round in circles to get a view of the left side. It’s only on Hollywood films where thermal can see through glass 😀😎👍
That seat and rest wobbles like a dogs bollocks ,!m surprised you can hit anything.
Hi George, still got time to watch videos, I thought you were on holiday 😎 Have a great time
Nice work Dave 🦊💥👌
Cheers matey
For those like me without a pick-up-truck, I use a seat that revolves through 360 degrees, is comfortable, lift & remove the padded seat & it exposes large storage built in as well as storage pockets around, is light enough to carry with its strap & cost around £40 from A1Decoys. HOORAH.
It's been as while, just wanna hope you're repairing well. Good shootin', Good luck. Good 'elf.
Hi Bruvva, Yes all good matey thanks 👍

Hi Chris, So you’ve got to guess which one said that ? 🫵😀
Necessity is the mother of invention sir.
