The sporadic muting is to remove cussing that resulted in RUclips removing ads from this video. This is my way of trying to play by their rules until we’ve established an alternative solution. I’m sure you’ll have no issues discerning the intended message though. 😉
God forbid a bad word slips through. RUclips sucks.
@@gregmech i think you are right, but its still the stupidest thing ever. How does that make any logical sense.
Someone needs to make a web extension that pulls the video from a different site when you queue the RUclips url.
F-it, as long as we hear what you've got to say
I was so confused as to why the best word was muted! It's real and your "realness" contributes to how great your videos are!
I love watching Mike slowing work himself up into a frenzy and start going off on people. Like you can see it slowly bubble up until it explodes 😂
Top 5 Olympia’s don’t listen to dorks
I love the speech at the end. It's so true about temporary lifters. They just start lifting and start giving tips with their shit physique. That is 1000% accurate.
The man has spoken! This new generation of bodybuilding has changed! Bring back old fashioned hard work
It took me years of practice to get efficient at movement and execution for rear delt isolation exercises. One of the best tips I ever received for rear delt Training was "Train Rear delts first." Its much easier to feel them when the rest of the back isn't all pumped up !! I'm pretty sure it was Mike that pointed that one out, too !
John Meadows, preached this as well.
Good idea actually, only started doing this past couple weeks just to help me get warmed up and sturdy and I definitely feel it a lot more
Yup! I start my shoulder training with rear delts or I work them on back day.
Correct in every possible way its not even subtle but massive. Once your traps are ready and firing, so difficult to isolate your rear delt(not that I am obsessed with that as any row whilst back dominant will give lots of rear delt)
Great. I'm going to try that today. Do the rear delts first and then the back.
So GOOD, SO RIGHT ON!!!! Love this guy. "You ever see these guys giving advice, their dorks, they look the worst."
Correct, I have been doing them wrong. Thanks for spending some time on the smaller, overlooked muscles.
Thanks Andrew, I hope you find this helpful.
@@WYCKEDTRAININGgreat vid, would u be able to make hitting all muscles adequatly with only dbs?
I really enjoy your video’s. No bullshit just straight facts. Keep up the good work. Greetings from the Netherlands! 🤙🏾
Ive always struggled (over decades) to feel a solid mind to muscle connection with my rear delts. The best exercise I ever found for my own in which i really connected with them was from John Meadows, which were super heavy dumbbell 'swings' on a bench.
I think a big part of what helped was that it really took the arms out of it (as you've pointed out in this vid being crucial)
The Dave Tate podcast with you was great! Love listening to you talk Mike 👌
Couldn't agree more, really enjoyed that one
Get the app going plz. The knowledge you drop is priceless. Educate us on rep schemes, structuring a workout, etc. Appreciate you Mike.
Thats my new favorite rear delt exercise. My delts feel worked for the first time. I tried the peck deck and got little to no rear delt activation. 2 minutes of listening to mike changed everything. Thanks mike! Wicked workout.
"Dorks and Nerds" are still trying to figure out how guys like Bill Pearl or Larry Scott got so big without their books or special machines. Growing up in the 60's and 70' Sergio Oliva was great to watch. As you say, he had no special "dork" trainers. Better than Arnold in my opinion. One of my favorites, Žydrūnas Savickas wasn't watching TikTok videos. He was lifting. Even if he was lifting the wrong rep, set, freq, rest, volume and tempo, he was still lifting everyday with high intensity. No magic elixirs. No magic replacement for hard work and consistency. Absolutely love your no BS videos. No special clips, no special effects or sounds. Just lift, rock through the target muscles, eat, sleep, train, don't over think it, ....just do it. Awesome 👍👍👍 thanks
I’ve Been waiting for a video on this , thank you for the upload 🙌
Thanks for watching!
I love when Mike starts.Arguing with himself
This guy explains things in a way i understand. I find allot of what he says relatable
Are you in prison too ?
@@samuelclemons508 no
Subscribed. Ive watched thousands of videos and this is the first one that didn’t over complicate shit and also the first time I ever got a pump on my rear delts!
😁😂🤣 he’s actually telling the truth about training rear delts. I never go over 20lbs on rear delts. It’s a very small muscle no need for ego lifting. 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾 always great tips from this guy
This channel is my new favorite! I only wish I would have found it sooner. Big props to you!
This resonates i love your no nonsense don’t over complicate it approach. Any time kids at my gym Ask me stuff o send them to your vid’s and to Seth feroce. Two different mindsets but similar approaches.
Love a Mike rant 😂 absolute bang on the money with everything though as per
Hey man, love this video and the advise.. Working out for years and literally learned something new with this. Only thing I would like to make a point about is the ending of your video, regarding the nerds and why can’t people apply it to themselves. While I agree, I also know that some people just don’t have the genetic or physical gifts that others have, however that doesn’t mean they don’t understand the sport or anatomy. I mean one look at most professional coaches and they undoubtably don’t have the athletic gift, strength or size as the athletes they coach but they are nerds for the sport and understand it to a level that they are able to lead these men/women to victory. Always be willing to learn from anyone. Thanks for the vid tho man, I absolutely learned something that others don’t touch on.
Thanks Mike! I have a difficult time feeling my rear delts. I tweaked my form using your tips and BAZINGA!!, I finally feel them!!
Thank you for another quality video!! Idk if its because you look like you just crawled out of an ancient Norwegian glacier but IMHO this is a top 5 fitness channel
Simply the best advice as always 💪
Thanks Mike ....much Respect from Australia 🇦🇺
So simple but so brilliant. Thank you 🙏🏼
The best in Business, The Mike ❤
Awsome tips Big Mike, Will try that leaning One tomorrow🥩👊💪
I just did shoulders today I want to say thank God for RUclips because I’ve been doing it wrong . I should say i was not doing it wrong Just the angle was wrong And I concentrated on the angle found to be a big difference. That tricep video that was a killer as well . been doing that for the last two months and I already see a difference .
So nice to watch a video and see that you’re draining them properly 😅
mikey needs to make a shirt that says “I dont understand why anyone does anything, ever.”
Mike is the man! Best RUclips lifting channel
Great content, you are a great teacher 🙏
Thank you George, appreciate the support.
You deserve crazy more views
We just started to follow after seeing you on bro chat. Love the way you explain things can't wait for more. Big love from Boycie & Susan Northern Ireland....
Thats why u gotta be consistent on all exercise
This is really informative and interesting! One of the biggest things that have helped me build muscle aside from spending time in the gym has been a custom meal plan from Next Level Diet. I use it every week and I love it!
Such simple adjustments made massive impact on my exercise movement Thank you!!
Excellent video. The faces at the end were amazing 🤣
i personally dont train rear delts
i focusing on sides delts, for most people (that is wrong)
but my sides are Horrible =(
this second moviment is like pulling arrow
Ur videos bring so many “ah ha” moments!!
Perfectly said, "Why isn't it applying to you. Why can't it reflect in you?"
Following your tips have made a noticeable difference in my training. I truly appreciate your content. It's a little harder to understand without the cursing though.. 🤣
HOW CAN YOU NOT LOVE THIS GUY
Hey Mike just want to say thanks so much for your videos. I’m 21 in college and this movement/knowledge has brought me more gains in just one month!!!! What would you recommend for mobility??
Underhand bent over row, job done.
Outstanding video, Mike. Loved the rant, as well as the training nuances.
If you ever feel like you're going over the same exercises all the time, please don't. There's a new nugget -- a new emphasis or sometimes even a formerly unarticulated idea -- you drop every time you go over one of these movements.
Saying that, I wouldn't mind you going over the finer details of that kneeling one-arm cable row you had Breon Ansley do when you trained him out in LA. (I'd have thought that would be a staple exercise for you, given that you told Breon it's the best lat extension he'll be able to get from any set-up?)
goals for 2023 - get to canada and train with Mike
Me too, to bad I'm a broke MFer! LOL
much respect for your experience, Big Mike
First time seeing this guy I like this guy👍🏿💪🏿 he keeps it real thank you !
I agree with Mike if the muscle is not on you, you have no right to be talking, it’s more of show your physique as a trainer to show on what you are talking about, experience gives good mentor talk 👍🏽✌🏽🙏🏽
Always notice when I do rear delt isolation work the less weight/rep to failure are the days they are burning and pumped. This is exactly why, those are the days I have clearly (not totally obvious) used great form and kept my damn traps if not asleep definitely sleepy
Mike, You need to start a wycked machine company and make it easy for us to choose the right machine..
Ranting about dorks out of nowhere at the end of the video??
Liked and Subscribed immediately!!!
Hunter trains like a dork. Heavy but dorky. I got the point though LoL.👍
I'm glad you didn't feature reverse pec deck, bc letting the elbow go across the body is very neglected and the reverse pec deck doesn't allow your elbows across. I fucked that up for YEARS. Also at 8:03 I would joke that Hany Rambod is a dork, haha! JK his channel is where I learned to train rear delts correctly. Absolute legend
The key to isolating rear delts is to keep your back out of it. The key to keeping your back out of it is to spread your lats.
Delts in general are a struggle to feel, really need to hit em first and play around with angles. So hard to overcome the desire to move weight and opt for a more inefficient movement.
These are so hard to hit. I also like to use cuffs for this to help me relax because I'm not squeezing my hands.
Mike said it so I’m doing it.
Yup been doing them wrong too heavy lol
I love you Man 👏🏻
Love you too.
Do you think its better to train rear delts with back, or the rest of the delts?
No one with bad genetics could ever be top 10 MrO. Guys with great genetics can train however they want (as long as there is enough consistency, intensity and/or volume) and still look great. They might suffer injuries snd health problems down the road, but its the combination of genetics, their will and hard work ethic that bring them to this top 10 level. On the other hand guys with miserable genetics must optimize! Refine, learn, research. That’s why some of them those nerds & dorks do not look that impressive. They may be well aware of their shortcomings and just want to be the best they CAN be within the boundaries of their genetic potential! They MIGHT know better than most of those genetically gifted impressive guys out there, because they work their way through all of adversities to get every pound and inch of muscle they build. They may refrain from PED because the do not want to detriment they’re health, tear muscles and ligaments just to look mediocre at best. They want to be fit, strong, and best they can be. You do not have a comparison. How would they look not training or training less efficient. Your training advice is great but not because your huge and jacked steroid fueled hulk of a guy, or top 10 olympian. It’s BECAUSE you’ve been beaten and torn with all those injuries and found better healthier way to stimulate muscle!
Good vid I will definitely try this if shoulders allow
Omg 😱 Thankyou going to try this going to save this video so I can go back ❤thanks
I would be more than happy if you did tutorials for people who don't have access to machines

7:00 forward: MIKE is right!!
Hmmm... U might be correct
Thanks Blake.
This video was epic!!!! And fuck that what ever gym I’m in , I WILL NOT LET THE NERDS TAKE OVER!!!!! I started at 17 years old in the 90s in fucked up gyms in the BRONX NYC!!! I learned from friends that did time up north and guys that did security in the clubs ! They taught me the basics no fancy shit!
Mike sir please explain one more time for triceps workout movement as you are doing in this video for rear delt
I love how every 3rd word is a pause in the sound I fu@king get it. HAHAHA
Thanks for this %$&*$% video! I've been pretty close to this when hitting @##$%! rear delts, but I'll be putting these !@##@ queues into practice this #$#$! week!!
First impression was that this guy is on gear and other negative thoughts , however , he is a big guy and more importantly he knows his stuff and makes sense ! Good training tips !
Thanks for the videos bro 🙏🏾
What abut the reverse pec machine at the box store gyms. Are they as effective as cable?
Tips on cardio please.
Very nice video man!
May I ask what your stats (height, weight) are?
Finally found a real body builder to follow!
Appreciate it….
#f$ckdorks😂
Great training tips🔥
All them science based trainers are the biggest dorks😂
Just spread your lats and dont allow shoulder blades to squeez together while you perform the movement. Keep lats spread all the time!
Thats hiw you train your rear shoulders
I love your rants lol
What about the humerous thrusters becoming engaged when my rear trapezoid is locked down into my reverbal sternum
WTF!
I'm 39 years old and a 300lb bodybuilder with a 36in. waist and i constantly have 150lb boys judging me on my workouts because they can lift heavier than what I'm training with. I'm like STFU
No wonder mine are super lacking. Ive been locking arms and locking shoulders back / down for years. Geeze *facepalm
Will definitely try this today
Mr V is a savage 🔥💪⭐️🚀💯
I think a “I won’t do what you tell me” wycked shirt is needed. In the vein of RATM.
I LOVE WINSTROL
Missing these 1 on 1 with you uncle
Thanks for the video.
6:54 had me WEAK!
Subscribing 🤟🏼
Thanks coach
Dorks lol. Hell yeah!!
I’ve been lifting since I was 15. I’m 37 now. Been doing total body workouts for the past few years. I have a manual labor job. Should I go back to having a dedicated day to a dedicated body part like a chests day, back day, ect…
Entirely depends on your goals. If you’re exercising for general overall health I don’t see the issue with the way you’ve been doing it. If you want to train for specific physique goals I suggest having dedicated days for the muscle groups you want to focus on improving. I hope this helps, thanks for watching David.
Odds are I am. Now I will get a lesson in how to do it right.
Blood pressure 180 0ver 140. Btw I'm surprised they have that much equipment in prison . Amazing
Yea I've mastered rear dents since day one , no confusion here
gangster version of oberst
Question , im a beginner plz excuse me , what makes rear dealt important rather than a full shoulder video?
I notice u talk about specifically the rear dealt a lot
Having good rear delts gives you're shoulders a fuller rounder look . It's just as important to develop the other two heads.
Would also say that front and side delt get alot of work on other days, like when you train chest, where rear delt doesn't really get hit while doing other body parts...
