Just a quick note on the part of the video in which you check if safetynet passes: that API is being displaced by Play Integrity and that's what most banking apps and google pay in particular are checking to test device integrity. Just so you know and you can check it with another app next time. Either way man Depth you go with them, you're the best in the game to be honest.

Xiaomi on USB 2.0 port is like Apple on lightning: stubborn, damn stubborn. I do agree with all of your findings, hope Xiaomi listens. Especially that 1080p@30fps and super ugly failed (or inexistent?) HDR. This is not how technology advances, they're clearly going backwards as even the predecessor still has 1080p@60fps. Nope, this is not the year Xiaomi promised for a real upgrade.

    00:12:39 You're wrong.
The reason why Vivo X90 Pro+ showed better results in the throttle test is not because Vivo's cooling is better, but because Vivo set the temperature limit more loosely.
As you can see if you did the 3Dmark stress test, the results window will show the highest and lowest temperatures.
If Vivo's cooling is better, the temperature of the two will be similar after the test.
But Vivo just doesn't throttle until the maximum temperature is over 50 degrees, and that's not the right policy in reality.

Xiaomi last year made me move to iOS. I have a pixel 7 pro and was looking for a more capable gaming phone without spending too much. I bought the Mi12 pro and was utterly disappointed. Overheats, lags and stutters when gaming. I had to return the device. The issue with overheating 8gen1 series discouraged me from getting any other device. I got the 14 pro max for a good deal and the difference was startling. However I really hate the iOS operating system that is why I am keeping my pixel.

I wonder if 1440p really does impact battery life enough to be noticeable. I have ran my Pixel 7 Pro on FHD+ and QHD+ for a couple of weeks each time, and I have not really noticed any changes. which sort of makes sense to me. Even if you're running a QHD+ display at FHD+ it's not like the pixels simply go away or are turned off, the only thing that changes is the load on the chipset and GPU, but other than gaming, I don't imagine any common daily tasks would really push the hardware at all to the point that it would consume more battery.

Great Comparison as always. For Xiaomi Pro series, I won't really consider that as an upgrade because all Xiaomi is doing is simply refreshing it phones with the latest available hardware, for couple of generations now, adding latest SOC, newer Camera sensors etc. but lacking in every other departments like the OS optimization, imgae processing algorithim and subpar secondary cameras. Vivo, on the other had, doing some great works with their Premium Pro series phones, apart from just refreshing it. Their custom image processing chip V1+ is just one example of it and on top of that, they're using full function USB 3.2 Gen 1 Port supporting Data, Display and video, a great setp forward. I tried X80 Pro+ with a standard Type-C Hub with charging and Display Out and it actually worked. On top of that, they're really improving the cooling whereas Xiamomi phones are suffering from high throttle since SD888 days and even the higher efficiency in 8 Gen 2 could not resolve it in this generation.

I've even got it tuned through the lib patcher to record that 4k video at 65m hevc with 512kbps audio. Looks and sounds absolutely amazing but theres no autofocus or stabilization but my point is if a third party app can enable 4k selfie video basically right out of the box why cant Xiaomi's miui camera development team spend an extra 5 minutes on the app and enable 4k selfie video.

It's laughable to mention USB 3.2 for for the X90 Pro - when it only works wiht 1 out of 3 USB 3.2 cables. And yeah the supplied cable is only USB 2.0. There is no single cable on the market as far as I know - that supports USB 3.2 and super VOOC - so you have to carry two cables with the Vivo x90 pro and maybe buy 4-5 different ones until you find one that works. And the charging on the X90 Pro is dead slow to slow without the supplied cable - and doesn't charge at all (just maintains the battery) on some laptops (not sure it chargs with more than 2-3w on any laptop). Andd google maps in bicycle mode is awful - my location always 5m behind - it's okay in car mode and by foot. Notifications are horrible, no Android Auto, no working google assistant (okay google missing, no continued conversation), no google backup, and some more google stuff missing. Origin OS is horrible at best. But yeah the camera is great. For the Xiaomi 13 Pro on the other hand soon you can download the EU firmware (at least so far that was always possible). It's just so unpolished besides all the bloatware. Actually it's easier to use google services on your Huawei Mate 50 Pro as ironic as it is. Okay google works there at least and google backup too.
Sadly the x90 is let down by poor software - because yeah the hardware itself is defnitely class leading right now (excpet the selfie sensor and the charging which only works (fast) with Vivos cable AND (not or) Vivo VOOC charger. And that VOOC charger is way too big vs really small 65w travel chargers (why 65w - because the 80w charger never goes over 65w anyhow and I doubt it could hold 65w for long). It's so painful knowing BBK Oneplus had a really good OS (though lately gotten much worse, of course Cyanogen Mod was best)

The major Chinese reviewers have rankings for both and most have them very similar in battery life but Vivo slightly ahead in performance but not much difference. Vivo has a better cooling system and runs cooler in the majority of reviews. Anyway, most regular users probably wouldn't notice much difference between them as they both perform to a high level and these differences probably aren't going to be key buying point. The x90 pro+ is just a better phone overall though as it offers a bit more and has the better cameras

@@effefiomasuquo7794 No need. I've seen plenty and there are also plenty of reviews that show differently. One of the largest Chinese reviewers develeped a standardised test and battery ranking and their was a 1 minute difference. Some are showing the Vivo to have better battery life and some the Xiaomi. Battery life depends on how you use the phone though. Some phones drain quicker for calls, some drain quick for 5g, some for 4g, some drain quicker on wifi etc. The cameras on some drain battery quicker than others also so depending on the balance and how it is tested you will get different results. If you go looking for sources to support your point of view you can find them but you can also find ones that show the opposite. The regular Xiaomi 13 has a 1080p smaller display so of course that should drain battery slower than both of these 2 pro models. It's up to you though which reviewers you want to trust. I choose to trust this reviewer as I've been following him for years and always found him excellent and reliable based on the phones I've purchased that he has reviewed
