Great video as always Butch. I was already out of the game when Aragon was skating so I haven't seen the majority of these sections. So insanely talented.
Smooth. Everything just so smooth. Flawless. Its what seperated him. Wasnt necessarily doin diff or harder tricks than everyone else.......but he was doin them and landing them cleaner. So clean. Every little nuance was perfect.
For the fishbrains: Mathieu Heinemann - Traitment, Nils Janson - hurricane fishbrain at the winterclash 2012 i think, Shimas Fishy in Leading the blind, David Sizemore - hurricane fishbrain in the WRS video, Jon Julio - Valo 4, to name a few
It’s been a while since I’ve watched some old footage of Aragon. That was some of the best skating I’ve seen in a while. Every trick was a total hammer with lots of technicality and complete control to go along with it. Incredible!
2004 was when i started skating.. man the 2000s was a good era! Tore my ACL in 08 doing a backflip but got back on some skates again yesterday after watching these videos all day for the last few weeks and got me hyped to come back.
Your reactions are the most natural thing human can do when looking at Aragon profiles. 😜 Thanks for breaking that down, Butch. Great comment as always.
Man, when I am watching this video, it felt like I was watching it with an old skate buddy who really knows what was going on the entire video; commenting flawlessly on all the important points. Thanks a lot for that awesome experience. Greetings from Brazil and Taiwan
I love your commentary! You're spot on how you describe his fluidity and style. It's really enjoyable how you articulate some of the aspects of skating that are either overlooked or hard to describe. Thank you for putting your time into these videos, they're awesome!
He just has an excellant center of gravity. Always sorta compact and in control on the hardest stuff going! I bought some Dickies Chinos after watching the Ego section back in the day lol.
Far from the longest or most extreme Fishbrain but one of the steeziest I've seen is Jayson Reduta Rocket Fishbrain on the HC rail in the Medium Children of the Night video
@@RollMinnesota Check out the last trick in this video. One of the best fastslides I've ever seen. And on brand new skates🤯 ruclips.net/video/r7MWi18PmpM/видео.html
Enjoyed this one a lot Butch! As for fishbrain suggestions, nils jansons does a neat fishbrain on a high downrail in Storm, anthony pottier has great fishbrains in all his sections and alex burston does a sick one in his Elite series section. Keep em coming lad 🙏
Fishs and sweatstances are imho the Most beautiful grinds. Some neagtive variations Look insane too. But me alsways was a friend of Air Tricks. Spins/Flips/gaps. I did a Lot of My Tricks Fakie, cause that way the Tricks we're more easy to me.
Best Fishbrain. It's Josh Petty with the Rocket Fishbrain. I can't remember the video. Maybe leading the blind? Maybe VG5? He's in either a pair of M12s or Chocolates. I can't remember.
Every trick in the Ego section is hard, sometimes you can maybe do them, but not with as much style. But that section even most good skater kids couldn't do a single of those tricks!
He quit because skaters are some hype beast weirdos that don’t know how to judge a contest, fucking shima does a soul grind and the crowd explodes meanwhile the Gawd here 540 into something gap out and no one claps. The better you are the less likely you are to win a contest. Most of the skaters are not good enough to understand how good Brian really is. People don’t understand how much effort it took to get this good and consistent. I learned every trick both ways and being able to do it VS being able to easily do it with style, is totally different. Consistency is king for a contest, unless you do something brand new, then you win 🥇:)
I used to skate for and work with (volunteer to get skates 5mo early + free plus travel to Worlds) ASA and even back then the guys I rolled with from Milwaukee, Rockford, Chicago would of been far better judges
Feinberg at his prime in blue Solo's was un-beatable in competitions . If you saw him rolling on the Blue Ramps on practice day you might as well just turn around and head home if winning was super important to you.
Legend. Also one of my favorites bladers of all time is David Sizemore's part on radius video 2007. Masterpiece. ruclips.net/video/i5JByCLxHFE/видео.html
I hate the delineations between hammer vs tech and how perception of hammers has changed. Imo, at the height of street skating in the 2000s, the so called hammers were also beyond technical. 450 back farv on a drop rail?? Hurricane topsouls? That IS considered technical by todays standards… most people still cant do that even on a skatepark ledge, let alone on a drop rail.
Great video. I was lucky enough to see him skate in person a handful of times back in the 2002-2007 period. Truly legendary.
For the fishbrain question - long fishbrain that Shima did in leading the blind

I always thought I was really good but this guy humbles me a lot.. so talented 👏👏

Brian is the motivation I needed to blade again after a 17yr break
Good video! I feel like we all got so inspired with Brian Aragon 🤘🏼those videos are legendary. I was wondering what rollerblades do you use!?
Your reactions are the most natural thing human can do when looking at Aragon profiles. 😜

Hurricane fish in Rob Thompson's underestimated section
Great reaction of the Prince's clips! I agree with your 'top' list!
A best backslides of all time would be super sick 🤙🏻🤙🏻
Aragon has an unique style for sure! Only one guy comes to my mind who has a similar smooth, flawless style - Roman Abrate
Agreed, plus ROman has some sick flips moves
Feliz em concordar.....🇧🇷🤙
And before them both I'd say Louis Zamora, Dustin Latimer and Kevin Gillian. Prob spelled all names wrong but old heads like me will know what I mean
The fishbrain on the death ledge in Kansas. I think Brandon Mateer nailed it.
For sure was an inspiration.
He just has an excellant center of gravity. Always sorta compact and in control on the hardest stuff going! I bought some Dickies Chinos after watching the Ego section back in the day lol.
great commentary and knowledge!
Far from the longest or most extreme Fishbrain but one of the steeziest I've seen is Jayson Reduta Rocket Fishbrain on the HC rail in the Medium Children of the Night video
Unreal video! 🤙🏻
A best of tricks video definitely needs a fast slide edition 🤗 fastslides are the craziest!
Fast slides never made sense to me. They are the craziest for sure!

Best to ever do it in my opinion based on raw skills & vision
To answer your quesrion about fishbrain j- bah had some of the greatest fishbrain ever done in history , go look at his black market section !!!
Jeoh Howard did like a zerospin fish on Cities Relinquished, Farmer had awesome fish brains and I think maybe Ben Schwab! Lots out there for that one!
Best Fishbrain. It's Josh Petty with the Rocket Fishbrain. I can't remember the video. Maybe leading the blind? Maybe VG5? He's in either a pair of M12s or Chocolates. I can't remember.
Bro keep grinding !! Aragon could smoke any top skater at the moment !
Insane
The Prince
The Prodigal Son has returned.
P.S. Being back BCSD Ohio
Every trick in the Ego section is hard, sometimes you can maybe do them, but not with as much style. But that section even most good skater kids couldn't do a single of those tricks!
What is the song in that last section?
He is from Denver
The prince is back
if you're gonna do a fishbrain video you gotta include some old school jon julio fishbrains

Murda on the Philly down ledge
5:35. “Technicality . Something people don’t think of with Aragon “ Uhhhmm. Lol. Where did you hear/read that?!?! Lol
The fishbrain that made everyone want to fishbrain.. hoax 3 jon julio section
I was gonna say-Hoax 3 made fish brains the coolest thing to do on skates
Feinberg roof top inspin fish brain to fakie 3 in WORDS

It’s fish to switch fish not dark side makio
Any of DL’s fish brains.
Alley oop parallel fish!
skating like he's playing a video game.
Forgive me. I get hate for this, but I think Haffey is one of the most overrated skaters of all time
