Inspired by your video, I just went to Home Depot and bought a huge sheet of coroplast. My husband and I made a very large cage and my 2 piggies from the shelter are sooooo happy!! I already had the wire grating so I spent very little!
Thank goodness for this video lol. This looked so simple when we got it out of the box but sorting out those corners and the loft - you saved us a lot of messing about and head scratching :) Thank you!
This is so simple! I will do. How many grids did you use? Im curious and is this enough space for non nuetered Boars? And can you edit the design to your liking. I dont want to be annoying i just naturally have a lot of questions
I have two boars. Was thinking a 2x6 with divider since one is terrified of the other and we have jealousy issues. How would that be accomplished? I understand the building of a single 2x4 but how do we add in a divider?
I think you could make a divider with a couple of the panels, zip tie them together, and zip tie them to the sides of the cage. This is what I am going to do if I get another pig from the shelter, and have to keep them apart until I am sure they get along.
You need a 2 by 12 if you plan to divide it. They need plenty room. They don't get along if the cage is too small & neutering help calm them down also.
What is the border thing u put in the cage for the droppings and where could i find it i got a c and c cage and a regular cage i tried to go the cheaper way but its a pain in the ass so i wanted to get the stuff and just get it over with. Its the green thing u put together
Cardboard isn't waterproof, you could do the cardboard box then line it with a waterproof material like a tarp. Tape it all down then place the bedding inside. That could work 🤗
Kept my piggies in an outdoor hutch for 7 years, considering this but the only thing stopping me is fresh grass they absolutely love it !! What do you think about it???
Java33 you can always bring them the fresh grass! And if you domt wamt to do that hay always replaces that. Even with fress grass you still need hay tho
@@zoeerx Hi Zoe, generally the sides need to be made 15cm or 5.9inches. This is so the piggies are contained even though they will be in the grid walls. Is there anyway you can go to a sign place that makes these coroplast signs and perhaps get a larger piece? :)
where i am home depot chloroplast cost $20.00 and the grids at bed bath & beyond we’re also $20.00 so practically cheaper than most store bought cages and bigger! :)
A basic C & C cage is only around $89 - $100 in Australia which is comparable to a wooden hutch in price but also a lot large than a wooden hutch, however a wooden hutch degrades rapidly over time and soaks up smells and stains and then you need to replace the whole hutch. Not only will the C & C last you a lot longer, it does not degrade like a wooden hutch or absorb smells and you can purchase replacement parts when needed rather than a whole cage. We do also say that if a one off $100 cage is scary, wait till you see the recurring vet bills for a guinea pig. Once you try a C & C we are sure you will love it.
Hi Libbyrussell 13 , you can order complete kits or separate pieces if you need to replace parts. Here is the link for the base kit - shop.guineapigsaustralia.com.au/2-x-4-guinea-pig-cage-kit/
I checked your website but the cage is like $159 dollars including the loft, and there are no kits, I would buy this but are there any kits or is there a sale near Christmas?
Yeah, I can't understand what she's calling them. It's really quiet, then I go deaf when the music plays because it's sooooo loud compared to her talking.
Depends on the size and if you're going to put grids on the bottom. A 2x4 with a 1x2 loft uses 18 grids but an extra should be used by the ramp, so 19. If you're going to put grids on the bottom your need 27
Thank you - this is actually a awesome suggestion, so we will be switching from now on to velcro in all our vids and possibly adding them to all our corflute products :)
I only have a little pet shop cage for three guinea pigs bc I dunno how to build a cage that’s big enough mg parents won’t let me get anything for them except the food it’s SO ANNOYING!
For safety they must be 9x9. No The coroplast cannot go to the top because there will not be adequate ventilation. The best place for grids is bed bath and beyond. Also amazon has the "whitmor" brand which is safe.
@@_jasminehansen It depends where you are located. Generally it is $20 AUD to ship internationally. In Australia domestically we cap the shipping at $12.90 AUD

This is the best for our Guinea Girls! Butbwe brought bigest cage with the large loft! Would love some extra video's with the talk through

Fantastic! I am sure the piggies will be thrilled :)
I bought a 2x5cage from you guys and I absolutely love it. It’s so hard to find quality piggies cages in Australia, so glad I found this company!
cassie phillips there are ones actually from Kmart for only $29.00 bucks 2 by 4, although you can by 2 if you would want them bigger
I had the sound turned all the way up to hear what you were saying but when your music came on my ears started bleeding!
yep and every video is the same ....
Thank you so much! Finding a good place in Australia that sells cage's isn't easy so you've made this so much easier.
Thanks Olivia

Thank you so much this helped me so much.finally a simple and easy online shop that has extremely good cages 🙏🏻
I regret buying a 100 dollar cage....wow so simple
T.A. M. Why? Everything adds up too 100 dollars it’s ok.
Wiesel Gaming you can make a bigger cage for one hundred dollars then a store bought cage
Oblivious Mobs I suck at building
Me too
@@microraptor9532 I got 1000 grids for $30
Just brought my cage today from you guys can’t wait to get it 😊.
Thanks guys I just got my order and this helps me

awesome 👏 cage ! But what is this green bottom thing u use ?! I see it for the first time ... can’t figure out what’s that 🤔
It's chloroplast.
Nice. Thanks for posting.
I want to make something similar but bigger.
I was surprised the loft was so small, thought it would be a 2 by 2 loft as those are a nice size
Thanks for the comment Sso Salsa. We do offer 2 sizes, the 2 x 1 and 2 x 2. This video we chose to use a 2 x 1 to keep things a little simpler.
Agreed the loft is too small when you look at the size of that white, presumably adult guinea pig.
Should be 2 by 5 grids for a couple of pigs. No more than 2 pigs. Good cage tho.

Is this the c&c cages??
Short Jack Yes
Omg this is soooooooooooooooo helpfull! THANKS SOO MUCH!
Im in australia so im wondering what shop do u get those equipments from?
Me too! 😆
do you guys sell in different countries
Hi i planning to build a 2 floor c&c cage but should i add panels/grids underneath the first correx floor? im worried about leaks
iiCloud Domi coroplast is waterproof
Grids have lardge holes in them
So that won’t stop the leaks😂

It's chloroplast. It's like plastic cardboard. You can put fleece or paper bedding in it.
Is this the same size as the Midwest?
Im building my own cc cage and ordered the pieces before I saw your video😅 however would cardboard boxes work instead of corflute?
Cardboard isn't waterproof, you could do the cardboard box then line it with a waterproof material like a tarp. Tape it all down then place the bedding inside. That could work 🤗
Sure cardboard would work, but it doesn't resist liquid.
Rivets would be better than the tape.
❤❤❤❤❤
Would you not need to add something under the ramp for support?
Natalie S you can add a grid under where the floor and ramp meet to have a bit support
What do u use for a pink stair thing
I made one. Wouldn’t come out for 3 weeks. Was super sketched out of the new cage

Hi! Does the 14cm in coroplast walls tend to keep most of the bedding/poo in the cage?
Yes it does :)

Do you guys ship to canada on your online store?
How do you wash the cover on the floors?
Where do you get the connectors?
They can be purchased from our store: guineapigsaustralia.com.au/
Question how much did this cost
I have the same cage and it is really expensive but i dont know if it would be different for you
where i am home depot chloroplast cost $20.00 and the grids at bed bath & beyond we’re also $20.00 so practically cheaper than most store bought cages and bigger! :)
Negan Himself on many websites you can get the cage and liners for $100 so it’s a good deal
the grids you can get 36 pannels whit zipties and teh clips for 40. the chloroplast is like 20
how often do you clean the cage ?
You should clean the cage at least once a week you can clean your cage twice a week too if you want
sarah irdina When ever it is very dirty
I recommend that you clean it once a week and then spot clean everyday or so :)
sarah irdina every week x
You people saying once a week must have very clean pigs because mine...I think they have a party ever night...
Thanks this helped a lot but I checked the website and I looked where I could find cages but GOD why are they so expensive for something so small

do you have to order everything separately ? (the grids, connectors, corflute) or does it come all together ?

Go to amazon.com & build your cage for little money. Cheap to build & you can make it what size you want. I had my coroplast pre cut for me.

Isn’t the base called coroplast trays? What’s she calling them? Is it the same thing as coroplast?
Yeah its the same

You can but just not in big brand pet shops, definitely ring up places near your area !!!
If it’s possible consider adopting!!
Miss potato Solanum Tuberosum isn’t there shelters? If so gets some there!
Use Velcro instead of tape
