    Inspired by your video, I just went to Home Depot and bought a huge sheet of coroplast. My husband and I made a very large cage and my 2 piggies from the shelter are sooooo happy!! I already had the wire grating so I spent very little!

    I have two boars. Was thinking a 2x6 with divider since one is terrified of the other and we have jealousy issues. How would that be accomplished? I understand the building of a single 2x4 but how do we add in a divider?

    • @petmomful2260
      @petmomful2260 5 лет назад

      I think you could make a divider with a couple of the panels, zip tie them together, and zip tie them to the sides of the cage. This is what I am going to do if I get another pig from the shelter, and have to keep them apart until I am sure they get along.

    • @dejns6945
      @dejns6945 4 года назад +1

      You need a 2 by 12 if you plan to divide it. They need plenty room. They don't get along if the cage is too small & neutering help calm them down also.

    • @GuineaPigsAustralia
      @GuineaPigsAustralia  6 лет назад +9

      Cardboard isn't waterproof, you could do the cardboard box then line it with a waterproof material like a tarp. Tape it all down then place the bedding inside. That could work 🤗

    • @temi4116

    • @GuineaPigsAustralia
      @GuineaPigsAustralia  6 лет назад +1

      A basic C & C cage is only around $89 - $100 in Australia which is comparable to a wooden hutch in price but also a lot large than a wooden hutch, however a wooden hutch degrades rapidly over time and soaks up smells and stains and then you need to replace the whole hutch. Not only will the C & C last you a lot longer, it does not degrade like a wooden hutch or absorb smells and you can purchase replacement parts when needed rather than a whole cage. We do also say that if a one off $100 cage is scary, wait till you see the recurring vet bills for a guinea pig. Once you try a C & C we are sure you will love it.
