You can't just assume that 18 would have been absorbed by Cell in your first "what if." Without 16 holding her back, 18 would have just escaped from the islands entirely. Vegeta and Trunks' interaction with cell would have progressed per normal, and Vegeta would have eventually let Cell scout around for 18 for a while under his watchful eye. But, because none of them can find 18, Vegeta eventually gets bored and lets Trunks kill Cell. End of story.
Or 18 blows up her boobie bomb. (That's one of my favorite cell moments in DBZA)

She was only held back after 16 tried fighting cell but if he wasnt there he would have just absorbed 18 straight after 17

Super Saiyan 4?
TheGokuBlack ZSuper Nah. The saiyan would have to transform into a Super Saiyan, which Goku was not able to do until the Namek Arc. However, after that point, it would be plausible. Goku would be use to Great Ape form so he would be less likely to lose his tail or forcefully pull the tail back out. If he got SSJ4 that soon, Goku would murder Cell with a power level of at least 1 Trillion while Cell has a power level of about 13B. Absolute murder.
*Just Arty Stuff - Roy Smith* 13B? I thought Gohan reached only 1B when he went SSJ2. Plus, I thought SSJ4 was a 4000x power up; which would require Goku's base form to have a power level of 250M.
TheGokuBlack ZSuper SSJ4 doesn't have a real multiplier as it is an individual saiyan's potential. Consider it like a Mystic Super Saiyan. Also, I thought Gohan had a power level of 270M or so. Who knows because this is dragon ball. We watch men punch each other hard. And I made an the assumptions that Goku is around Cell's power in his Super Saiyan form or 10B. It would cause him to have a PL of 4T in Super Saiyan 4.
But like I said, power levels died along with Frieza.

What if Gohan never stopped being the Great Saiyaman?
What if one of the Saibamen seeds that Nappa planted didn't sprout during the fight with the Saiyans, only to slowly root and grow into a full patch of Saibamen pods years later? Think of it as a planetary infestation of Saiba Pods.
What would have happened if Goku never came to Earth in the first place? How do our mortal, human heroes deal with the Red Ribbon Army, the Crane Hermit, King Piccolo, the eventual arrival of Raditz, and someday, the invasion by Frieza and his forces?
What if Goku's Saiyan Spacepod crash landed in a major city instead of way out in the wild?
In the last one when you say major city do u mean metropolis 😏😏

The what-if is all about the supporting cast of Dragon Ball having to make do with all of the Z bad guys without the aid of a powerhouse like Goku.
I'm just curious how Masako would improvise given that constraint.

Why would he take planets and sell them to people if he's the ruler and its implied most planets he takes had some sort of space faring infrastructure like planet cereal because otherwise itd be like selling a house and then saying "i hope you enjoy adding plumbing and wiring the house up"

I dont agree with the Number 16's What If. Even if there was no 16 around Gohan would still have been able to go Super Saiyan 2. Seeing his loved ones getting killed would have been enough of a trigger to unlock that form.

From the writing style that arc had. 16 was undoubtably the final trigger, had he not triggered gohan theres no guarantee he wouldve unlocked the form as that might have been TOO much for gohan seeing everyone else he loves die. What if Master Roshi continued to be a part of everything. Trained to fight the saiyans with everyone else, and even went to Namek. Continued to interact and fight and train during all the other sagas as well without stopping into Buu like Krillen. Maybe training hard like a Saiyan.

That was his power level completely at rest, if he powered up he would have had a higher power level than Krillin at that point. Krillin probably passed him after having his potential unlocked.

Yeah he's a strong guy and all but while time has been kind to him it still hinders about 90% of his combative viability.

Aside fron that, Goku didn't quite used his SSB Kaio-Ken that much, but it could be safe to assume that either by end of Goku Black and beggining of the Tournament of Power Goku would succeed In perfoming the technique.
Goku will 1000% lose. Hit is too OP in anime with his growth ability. In manga, hit is such a weakling.
I reckon that Goku powering up alone would be enough to power up Majin's pod.

Althought, it wouldn't be more different than Trunks, he may've struggled a bit with Frieza.
Aside from that, he would've reveal his identity, because there's no risk of him not existing by revealing it, probably exchange a few words with his mother and himself, guaranteeing they make Goku take the heart medicine.
Aside from that, it's possibls that Trunks could be dead by the time he comes back, considering by the time he wasn't strong enought to fight the Androids by himself.

Then it would've been Vegeta's turn. And I think we can all agree that Vegeta would've made sure his was the last one. Although that does bring up the idea of what if Vegeta, after winning the Cell Games in such a scenario, decided to take credit instead of letting it go to Mr. Satan? We all know that Vegeta puts himself on a pretty high pedestal, so I feel like he'd love having the entire planet Earth regard him as the "Ultimate Savior and Champion." Really, I can see every bit of that going to his head.

Without #16 wouldn't #18 be able to flee from Cell? He can't sense her energy and she wouldn't have to carry #16 so she could actually escape to anywhere on the planet and give Vegeta and Trunks enough time to kill Cell.
Hi Jacob, I was about to ask this too, but he did mention that 16 was not destroyed, just more severely damaged. So it's likely she would have stuck with him all the same.

Forever.Ingmar Ah k, I took it as he was damaged beyond repair but they attempted to salvage him. When he said not even Bulma could repair him. But if we take it as he died on the spot, I agree 18 would escape and cell would be smashed by trunks.

MasakoX You're incorrect about how the time travel works. Goku Black came back to the present from a timeline where Zamasu was already a problem, and killing him won't undo anything. It'll just branch off into a new timeline, and Trunk's timeline will have just Zamasu there, without Black. Trunks would probably learn the Mafuba and seal Zamasu, then remain in his original timeline.
The Super timeline would continue on without the second Zeno ever coming, but it's still likely that the tournament of power would happen because the idea was already in place. The timeline which the show currently follows would be in that other branch that killing Black created.
I don't think the added timeline would be a thing, because there was no time machine in use to cause that aside from the back and forth Trunks would already do. It would just mean Zamasu would have to continue his plans without Goku Black and eventually get defeated somehow.
Still means no Xeno 2 but what about Xeno's friend that Goku promised him? Don't you think that might cause some issue down the line? It means someone would have to be offered up to Xeno or else risk erasure. Who would they offer to Xeno then?
I think that is a cool what if. "What if Goku didn't bring the second Zeno to his timeline." Though I think it is far too early to speculate that!
Yeah that would be a good one for later, once we've seen if that second Xeno actually does anything. Otherwise it would be interesting to see who Masako would think to replace him.

Future trunks is still the 3rd strongest only under goku, vegeta even without his sword.
Since future trunks fails to save his world, he is determine to win ToP.
I wouldn't say he is the third strongest since Gohan just made a comeback. And Frieza wouldn't really be eliminated, I think Master Roshi would be replaced.

Also reason why gohan is under trunks is because gohan current power is equal to ss2 goku while trunks is above ss3. Im 100% sure gohan will get a new form that will surpass vegeta
I have more of a discussion question rather than a what if, my question is "Would Semi-Perfect and Perfect Cell have been as strong if Imperfect Cell didn't absorb all those people or if he couldnt absorb energy?" He would still be able to absorb the androids but he coudnt absorb someones energy with his tail. But I guess if the question was in What-If format then it would be " What If Cell could not absorb energy?"

What if, zamasu & goku black's arcs started after universal tournament?
Let's say: That goku made a deal with grand priest and zenos. That they'll "erase" everyone in the tournament. But in reallity they simply trasports all the fighters
and their universe to a different dimension. Where they can't be sensed or seen by angels. Making erased part more realistic.
Why would zenos or grand priest agree to something like this? Well, it's simple! Both, goku and zenos are similar. One wants to have a good fight, and other wants to see a good fight. This is why zenos & grand priest would agree with a plan like this. However, grand priest and zenos would have to keep quet about it, when it's comes to angels and god of destruction. Since they could simply spoil everything, and then they woudn't fight to their fullest. Thus, zenos not being able to see good fights and goku not being able to fight in a good fight.
So, the start begins as in anime. Goku and beerus meets gowasu, to let them know about tournament. Why goku and berrus? Well, because few episodes before this episode. Berrus staded that there is strong kaioshin in universe 10 and knowing goku he would agree to go there and test kaioshin's powers. Things turns out as in anime. But this time zamasu gives goku a better fight.
Tournament of power begins:
The things turns out as in anime till the end with the same last standing fighters. Then, zenos and grand priest transports everyone back to the stage and explains their plan. Everyone understands, but few people are a little un happy about being lied to. However zamasu gets angry/mad at goku (mad, inside his mind without showing to others). Thinking, that how mere mortal could make such a deal with zenos. And more so, how could mere mortal play with other people's lives just so that he could get a good fight?! This, was the last draw for zamasu. After zamasu returns to his universe once tournament of power is over. The things turns out just like in the anime.
However instead of making just goku black, zamasu makes second strongest person in tournament of power jiren (most likely). And then the things turns out just like in the anime. But with few changes: Goku and vegeta gets new forms, trunks gets blue form and gohan comes a long with them into future with his ultimate form. Results of upcoming fights are up to your imagination.
P.s sorry for my bad english grammar if it was and i hope that you enjoyed reading this.

Okay wait I can't even get through the first what if on this one. 1. Why did 18 not try to fly as quickly as she could since she doesn't have to carry 16. 2. Why did she not go under water to hide from Cell and Vegeta since she wasn't there as a safe spot for her and 16. 3. Why would Gohan not be angry about his friends and family getting killed and that trigger SSJ 2 kind of like when Goku was hurt by Raditz and Krillin stabbed by Freeza. This one made no sense what so ever. 18 not just going to watch around on the island, is she even stops there, especially if Vegeta tells Cell he can have her. She can survive days underwater because she's mostly a machine and that didn't bother 17 when he was fighting Piccolo. Also I'm sure Gohan witnessing the death of his loved ones would be more than enough for him to tap into SSJ 2. He just wanted to end the violence not because of 16 being there but because 16 showed that he was a peace love who then got destroyed by Cell.
True, it would've taken longer for Gohan to reach ssj2. Krillin and Piccolo would die again before he gets the rage to go into ssj2
What if Future Vegeta survived the Androids attack
He would have a tremendous Zenkai boost because of plot convenience.. trains for some time and fucks up the androids, or gets fucked himself
What if Bulma and dr. Briefs were able to rebuild number 16 after the cell Saga with the blueprints that Krillin had got from dr.geros lab and with some of the parts left from 16 when he was destroyed?
How would the Buu saga & Beyond go with 16 around?

I would had: and wished him back has a cyborg like 17 and 18 so he can have a somewhat normal life.
Maybe or be an alley of the Z-Fighters when they need his help but when he's not need he can be a travelling bird watcher and check out all of the different kinds of birds out there.
Grid Lock I'd say he'd go with 18 as they think 17 is dead and he would live with her and krillin and visits gohan then he would tell gohan he has to train to protect that's in the buy arc but in super he does the same resulting in gohan becoming much stronger and when 17 show up he gos with him to protect nature and he also would make 18 and krillin stronger too and he would not do much in goku black arc but he would replace tien in the tournament of power and gohan would have helped in the goku black arc and universe tournament arc replacing buu
Krillin Chestnut Maybe 16 could as be Buu’s replacement in the tournament between Universe 7 and 6.
Yay!!! My what if made it! That fight between Vegeta no Goku always got to me that Goku would hold that insane power back in such an important time.
On the subject of 16 dying to Semi-Perfect Cell:
Without 16 there, 18 could have hidden. The reason she stayed on those islands is because of 16, so she could have easily jumped under water and just bolted. I don't think anyone would punish him. Keep in mind 2 things:
1. King Kai already lived in otherworld, so dying did nothing more than leave him homeless for a while. His job was literally unaffected by the halo on his head.
2. None of the other kais actually cared. Seriously, he pretty much became the laughing stock of the afterlife.

Logically, it makes sense Goku didn't use SSJ3. Not only would it drain his energy far too much, but he would only be instigating Vegeta by leaning more into the fight. Goku didn't want the battle, and only went as far as he did for survival.
In the manga, Zamasu only saw Godtube videos of Goku, so I think the anger that was building up in him might've still caused him to go forward with his plans.
And I think a good alternative to the third one would be, "What if Vegeta fought Goku Black first?"
If Goku killed Black, by the "rules" of time travel that Dragon Ball works with, then Future Zamasu would still be around. Changing the past doesn't mean squat with the way they deal with in this series.
Even ignoring that, arguably, Black would still happen, as in the manga, Zamasu never met Goku before stealing his body. He just found out about him from Shin and saw him on Godtube and got just as paranoid.
I think Masako means that Goku and crew wouldn't go to Universe 10 to see what Zamasu was about, potentially causing his hate to spike and lead to him going over the edge. Though I see a fatal issue with the main timeline; when they go to see Zamasu, he gets Hakai'd and then that's the end of the main timeline's Zamasu, however the one who went to Trunk's Timeline will still be there and cause trouble.

There is one error in your 16 scenario. 18 couldn't escape underwater because of 16's wound. With 16 destroyed, 18 would be able to escape underwater, preventing Cell from being able to sway Vegeta with the challenge of his Perfect form, since none of them would be able to sense her. Super Vegeta proceeds to final flash semi-perfect cell with his semi-perfect jawline out of existence. Other side effect, no 18xKrillin relationship, as she stays in hiding for the rest of her life, or at least until she realizes Cell is gone for good

You're making the assumption that Cell has a soul. He was synthesized from other people without real parents, so his situation is unique. Would Cell even have a soul, and could he be revived? Personally, I don't think he could. His entity was made up of Goku, Vegeta, Tien, Yamcha and various other fighters. He had none of his own essence within him.
Jason Skywalker you are making the assumption he doesn't have one. In all filler and GT while yes not "canon" has been shown to be in hell. Unless stated otherwise it is a safe bet he did indeed have a soul and could be brought back. Also even if he didn't have a soul he could still be brought back as the dragonballs have brought back many things before. The entire earth has been brought back with everything that was on it including computers and what not so even if cell was just a at his core a bio computer he could still be brought back.

If you think about any child would be traumatized by seeing something bad happen to someone very close to them die like a parent and with Gohan being a little a kid with little control on his emotions could go crazy if not for Piccolo knocking out Gohan and takes him to train to not only understand and control this strange power but also prepare him for the upcoming fight against Vegeta and Nappa.

One finale "What if"- What if Gine, the mother of Goku and Raditz; came with Goku to Earth before Planet Vegeta was destroyed? With Dragon Ball Minus being part of cannon by Toriyama (I checked), as final act to make sure that someone could train Kakarot aka Goku, Bardock knocks out Gine and fits her and baby Goku in the same pod and sends them to Earth. It would explain why Goku would know the monster appearing during the full moon and since Gine is a caring Saiyan, she would be protective of Goku and his teacher when it came to fighting, while making sure to keep their Saiyan heritage a secret until the moment was right which would be until the Saiyan Arc of DBZ when the akward family reunion happens with Raditz. Still what role would Gine play in the original Dragon ball series and also DBZ, we know before getting married to Bardock, she was one the soldiers that worked for Frieza meaning is able to fight and hold her own in battle.

It'd be an interesting twist with Cell looking for a good fight with Buu or even Dabura, since the latter and Babidi would be aware of Buu's premature awakening.
Babidi could try and control Cell after seeing how powerful he is. If successful, Babidi would overwhelm Shin (Supreme Kai) and Kibito with the extra muscle. At this point, Shin would be left with no choice but to wake up Beerus at the risk of causing further destruction in his universe, assuming he isn't killed beforehand.
