@@tallefjantI personally think the PERFECT form factor were the iPhone X, iPhone XS and iPhone 11 Pro. These three iphones had a 5.8” display, and the Max versions of the XS and 11 Pro were 6.5”. I think Apple made a mistake by switching to 6.1” and 6.7” for the iPhones. The base iPhone being 5.8” was PERFECT. It wasn’t too small for most people, unlike the iPhone Mini, but it was still small enough to use with one hand for most people. It was the perfectly sized base iPhone. I never owned any of these - I have an iPhone XR. When I held an iPhone X, which is owned by someone I know, it felt so much more comfortable, whilst not sacrificing too much screen size. At least the bezels are getting smaller now though. So a 6.1” iPhone 15 will feel much smaller than my 6.1” iPhone XR which is like 5mm wider and 4mm taller.
I don’t completely agree because the demand and expectations where different back then. Companies where trying to make phones as slim as possible. Nowadays that doesn’t really matter, but when iPhones started getting bigger many people where complaining. They better not discontinue the iPad Mini. iPad Mini 5 is such a unique piece of Apple hardware. It's got Touch ID, a home button, Apple Pencil support, good battery life, a headphone jack, works great as a mini touch screen laptop with a Bluetooth keyboard case, it's still got a bezel, it's got accessory support (e.g. AirPods), and is still supported in the latest iPadOS updates, all in one! It's a perfect mishmash of the old and new and I love it so much!
I suspect the average person doesn’t buy the Mini because they think it is a lower end device. Most people who aren’t interested in tech, have this thing in their head that a bigger iPhone = better iPhone. Nowadays, that’s generally not true. When an iPhone comes in two sizes, both sizes are able to do the exact same things, no differences on either one. The only difference with larger models is the larger battery (and therefore better battery life). I think it has to do with Apple’s naming scheme confusion. With the Pro model iPhones, the Pro Max sometimes has features that the regular Pro doesn’t (like the 5x zoom on 15pm). However, this doesn’t happen with the base iPhone models, but most people don’t know that. This Pro vs Pro Max thing makes them think that it’s like that for EVERY iPhone, when it’s really not. So it makes it seem like bigger is better, when in reality it’s not. So I suspect when people saw the Mini, they probably thought it was a downgrade of the base iPhone model, since they think that the Plus is an upgrade. If they think bigger is better, they would then think smaller is worse. With better marketing and a better naming scheme, I believe the iPhone Mini could’ve been a massive success. For example, here is what I would call the next iPhones: - iPhone 16 (5.4”) - iPhone 16 (6.1”) - iPhone 16 Pro (6.1”) - iPhone 16 Ultra (6.7”) The base iPhone 16 has the same name - just iPhone 16, and then the screen size next to it (similar to the iPad). I upgraded to a 12 mini when they first came out and other than battery it was one of my favorite phones I ever had, I broke it and ended up upgrading to the 13 pro and it made me fall in love with the pro line. I can now safely safe now that I’m now on a base model iPhone 14 I would absolutely love to have the pro model back again. There’s so many more plus’s but with all of that said I would also happily go back to a mini
I like small iPhones. Right now I have an iPhone SE 2nd gen but when holding my old phones (iPhone 5s and iPhone SE 1st gen) I find the size of them amazing. But sadly they are old and not supported with iOS software updates anymore
As someone who has a 12 mini I can agree the battery life isn’t great but overall it is such a good phone. I don’t like how big the newer iPhones are and the mini is just perfect. I wish apple did the mini family again with the 14 mini and the 15 mini and I hope to see it again in the future.
13 mini here and I wanna say that the camera quality for the back side is great and all but when you flip it to the front camera it has some issues but an amazing phone to have since they are not selling them anymore!
preordered the 12 mini. typing this on a 15 pro max. came from the 1st gen SE before that and held out for a long time, hoping but never expecting them to do another small iPhone. I don't see myself ever going back to small phones now, but I could see Apple doing one again in another few years or so
I understand why they removed this because as an owner and daily driver of the 13 mini i can say it reminds me a lot of when i had a 6s because the battery has just been going downhill recently
It was kinda of nostalgic. I miss the times of phones you can comfortable use one handed and wrap your hand around. But we’ve moved on from the early mid 2010s and there’s no going back 😭
I’m one of the users of iPhone mini and it’s still working pretty well since this more than 2 years and I love this little phone I think I’m going to use this until his list iOS updates
As someone with small hands I was very drawn to the mini series but after having the SE2020 as my first Iphone my biggest gripe with it was the rounded edges which made the phone annoying to hold and down right uncomfortable even with a case. The worst of it was the 1866 mah battery whixh could not hold a full days charge. So before I upgraded to my current iphone 13 I asked my buddy to let me inspect his iphone 14 just to get a sense of what it feels like to use as someone with small hands. The square edges for the normal side makes is 10 times more managable and usable in spite of the bigger size.
As an iPhone 12 mini user the battery is the only issue and it is a great phone . Honestly it performs the same after 2 years so personally I hate to say that it is an underrated phone

I love my mini and I plan on keeping it as long as possible! The best thing is sometimes I forget it’s even my pocket, I have an iPad for doing things on a larger screen. I don’t understand the need for a plus size phone when most people watch media on other things. Apple should do a mini every few generations
I’ve been wanting a larger phone for a while now, watching on a 13 mini. I got it when my hands where normal sized lol but now it’s rare to find someone with bigger hands then me. Still, I love this phone and am grateful for it so I will be sad to see it go.

The Mini DID work. They need to bring it back
I like small iPhones. Right now I have an iPhone SE 2nd gen but when holding my old phones (iPhone 5s and iPhone SE 1st gen) I find the size of them amazing. But sadly they are old and not supported with iOS software updates anymore
I love you Austin ❤
You too ken 😂
These 30 year olds are basically treating their iphone as collectable items
I still have the 12 mini 😁
Those poor people who have small hands but want a newer phone
Size doesn’t matter it’s power that matters
most apple sheep dont know that. they think the bigger the better
which is actually kinda true considering the pro models got the best specs and its big
Watching this on a 12 mini, I really don’t like the giant sizes of phones nowadays
Normal 13 Here, my phone will forever miss his lil bro
I love the mini and will buy a few as I don’t want a big phone
I love my iPhone 13 mini. I hated having a freaking bazooka on my pocket. 😂😂
Rocking my 12 mini , loving the form factor
13 mini is literally the best mini phone it has a smaller notch and it was better then the 12 mini
Got an iPhone 12 and really wish I got the mini. Was so sad when they dropped it from 14 onwards. Was looking forward to it in my next upgrade cycle
As someone who has a 12 mini I can agree the battery life isn’t great but overall it is such a good phone. I don’t like how big the newer iPhones are and the mini is just perfect. I wish apple did the mini family again with the 14 mini and the 15 mini and I hope to see it again in the future.
12 mini here
13 mini here and I wanna say that the camera quality for the back side is great and all but when you flip it to the front camera it has some issues but an amazing phone to have since they are not selling them anymore!
preordered the 12 mini.
typing this on a 15 pro max.
came from the 1st gen SE before that and held out for a long time, hoping but never expecting them to do another small iPhone.
I don't see myself ever going back to small phones now, but I could see Apple doing one again in another few years or so
13 mini here, I love my little nugget and here’s to hoping small phones make another comeback
The Asus ZenFone 10 is a Great alternative though!
still rocking my 12 mini unitll its dead and will get a 13 mini if they don’t have a new one by then
Still got my 12 mini kicking around somewhere. Thinking of going back to it.
I understand why they removed this because as an owner and daily driver of the 13 mini i can say it reminds me a lot of when i had a 6s because the battery has just been going downhill recently
i got a iphone 13 mini in 2023 a few months before it got off the apple store
If iphone can not make a mini phone, no one can, asus zenfone 8/10
POV 13 years ago:
Gutted. Typing this on a 13mini.
Honestly the se would make so much sense in the mini chassis and could make it a good go to for a work phone.
13 mini here. Sometimes shorty Battery life and missing telephoto are the only issues I have. It’s been a great phone
A 16 pro Mini would been great
Think about how the 3 cameras would make it dense and thick to get decent battery.
It was kinda of nostalgic. I miss the times of phones you can comfortable use one handed and wrap your hand around. But we’ve moved on from the early mid 2010s and there’s no going back 😭
Bro I have the OG 12mini in purple and it’s going strong besides the battery thing
Switched from 14 Pro back to the 13 Mini right as the 15 launched. Plan to hold onto it as long as I can.
My kids have it and have loved it for years.
L Apple give us our mini back!!!
I’m one of the users of iPhone mini and it’s still working pretty well since this more than 2 years and I love this little phone
I think I’m going to use this until his list iOS updates
As someone with small hands I was very drawn to the mini series but after having the SE2020 as my first Iphone my biggest gripe with it was the rounded edges which made the phone annoying to hold and down right uncomfortable even with a case.
The worst of it was the 1866 mah battery whixh could not hold a full days charge.
So before I upgraded to my current iphone 13 I asked my buddy to let me inspect his iphone 14 just to get a sense of what it feels like to use as someone with small hands.
The square edges for the normal side makes is 10 times more managable and usable in spite of the bigger size.
They should make the se 4 a mini phone with a dynamic Island a18 chip and 5.6inch lcd screen
As an iPhone 12 mini user the battery is the only issue and it is a great phone . Honestly it performs the same after 2 years so personally I hate to say that it is an underrated phone
I'm legitimately starting to fall back in love with mini smartphones again . That's why I just got the base iPhone 15 I think I'm moving away from those huge phones
iPhone 13 mini user here and i absolutely love it!!.. quite disappointed that they replaced the minis with the plus. So pocketable, easy to use with one hand, just convenient. Everything’s amazing including battery life at-least for me which seems to be the biggest criticism for the minis, and i am a heavy user btw
Real I was hoping for a 15 mini
I love my mini and I plan on keeping it as long as possible! The best thing is sometimes I forget it’s even my pocket, I have an iPad for doing things on a larger screen. I don’t understand the need for a plus size phone when most people watch media on other things. Apple should do a mini every few generations
As a person watching this on a 12 mini this is definitely an upgrade from my old iPhone seven that I’ve had for 5 years
I’ve been wanting a larger phone for a while now, watching on a 13 mini. I got it when my hands where normal sized lol but now it’s rare to find someone with bigger hands then me. Still, I love this phone and am grateful for it so I will be sad to see it go.
agree BUT, the iphone se 4 is said to come out soon and the front is rumored to be identical to the 12 mini the only imperfection is the standard single lens camera, no .5 or high quality zoom.
'If apple can't make a mini phone work then no one can ' i disagree with this.
It's more like 'if apple can't make a mini phone profitable then no other android phone maker will even try'
I think android companies can make a better mini phone.
Then again, the iPhone mini is too mini to the point of being unusable both for typing and content viewing."
I think 6-inch display is the sweet spot between form and function." Example: pixel 5
Had to buy the regular 13 because they don’t sell the mini anymore but it apple releases somehow another mini format I’d jump to it as fast asi can I hate the trend of bigger and bigger phones
