This week, I tried my first front-door sales pitch and ended up going into debt.

This series has been immensely entertaining so far Jon. Thank you
The 80% discount sounds a bit much lol. Going from $1,500 to $300 sounds like you're scamming her. Maybe say like $400 -> $300? 25% discount?
Not sure, if this applies to verbal advertisement but generally in the UK you can not claim a discount if you have never sold at that price.
Definitely one of those unethical lifehacks.
1500 is a bit steep! I could get my whole garden landscaped for that
The idea behind that is you offer a big discount like 80% to make it sound more intising
@@dividedgamersunited3573 Yeah I get that it's the idea. But if someone quoted me £1500 for weed removal and to clean my windows I wouldn't care what the discount is as I would just think they're fobbing me off. With these type of side hustles you're doing them to save the customer time for tasks they can do themselves - it's not realy a specialist task if you have ladders and weedkiller
@@dividedgamersunited3573 I was thinking it was too much of a discount, it starts to sound a bit scammy.
@@amandalewin2872 i can see why people might see it that way but think the majority of people don’t and buy it
Yeah that was my thinking, sounds too scammy starting that high.
Thanks for being transparent about these kinds of setbacks along your journey, hope the leads turn into lots of sales to help turn things around!
If i get told something is 1500, but there's an 80% discount, it sounds super sketchy. Just be honest with pricing. "Discounting" at 80% is a deal that sounds too good to be true, and the people you are marketing to (home owners) are obviously not the worst with money. Other than that I am enjoying the episodes 👍
you got this dont give up
just had a look at the channel. maybe you should turn this into a numbered series. EP1, EP2, Ep3...
otherwise it looks like they're individual, non related videos. just my 2 cents.
OMG we need more of your cat in this series, so adorable
You could also try hedge trimming, car washing, inside car cleaning, removal of stuff like taking them to the tip etc.
I love how we are starting day 28 barely in the black.
These are belting. Don’t give up
I am heavily invested in this series! Especially as I live in Leeds
jon the new breakdowns and extra information is great thanks for taking feedback and implementing it mate !
Loving this series Jon, don't give up!
I hope you're doing this through your company, doing quotes, invoices and all the paperwork...
? Why
I think you should look into a car detailing business. The start up costs are pretty cheap depending on if you are going to tow a trailer with water and a pump or just a tank and using buckets. They are pretty mobile and at least here in the states a lot of people have cars. You could learn car detailing via videos as well. I think it would be better than this lead magnet business where you spend your time doing free labor and paying for the supplies just to have people turn you down on the paid services. If you choose the cleaning and pressure washing side you could offer "free" weed killer spray where the cost is factored into the original price of the job
Everybody having a car is only in the US lol
Honestly so excited for this series. Jon you deserve a strong following. I’m sure this series will help that. Keep it going!
This is a great series Jon and I prefer this type of longer project than the shorter ones. Your pressure washing service seems to be taking off well and I hope you start making a lot more money soon!
you need a wire brush on a pole for the those weeds and moss between black paving, I have a block paved drive it will be quicker and also save your legs and back.
I think you’re onto something Jon! Best of luck
I love your optimism!
i think if you had gone with the weeding service from the get go, you'd have done better overall. but in the beginning you were wasting too much time and money on ubereats and vinted. but i also think offering a free product wouldn't have saved you from going into debt, maybe it'd just be less. you're kinda expecting people to think you did such a great job for free that they'll pay you to do more work. the reality is that they're seeing they can get you to do something for free, and if they don't immediately assume it to be a scam, will let you go at it and call it a day. it's like when they're offering free samples at the supermarket. you try them, because it's free, but you have 0 intention of ever buying the product, even if you liked it, you just wanted to test it out for free
If free samples didn’t lead to increased sales companies would have stopped it decades ago so it clearly works.
A 25% closing rate is very good. Considering your advertising numbers are low compared to bigger businesses that’s a decent rate.
What I’ve seen is as the reach grows (in this case letters posted) your conversion rate drops a lot, but you still make more sales.
been along your journey from a long time,
was gonna comment about the fuel of your car & food
glad you covered it thoroughly this time in its entireity
you sir are as legit as it should be!
good luck
hope one day you become the millionaire that you so truly deserve
Take a loan out and put it on red.
I find this personally hilarious, but I think he is a recovering gambling addict.
best of luck!
How much have you earned with pages reads on the last book published in amazon ?
1500$ sounds outrageous
JON HOLSTEAD MY KING!!!
I'd at least tip you for weeding the driveway if I had no intention of paying for another job
£1500 😂 maybe in America
Taxes? :))))))
Hey Jon, what about your RUclips earnings?
How much do you earn per month now?
