Thats not possible. First one got the button that you have to push with your thumb, so you always have it in hand in correct direction. With second one you have to swing it to open and it's just not working if you are holding it wrong way.

I got the first stick somewhere around 8 years ago. In fact, the stick that pops up with the switch is designed to do a magic trick, where you tie a towel to the latch and hold it up. When you swing your hand, the towel disappears and the stick appears. At that time, my switch was broken and the stick was ready to come off at any moment and it was actually very dangerous because it was made of metal and could cause cuts (that I also got several times).
