I have a prayer request. I’m really worried about my daughter and her lack of a dad. It breaks my heart for her. She’s 3 and I can see how she is longing for it in different ways. Please pray that I can find someone who loves God and who will love my daughter as their own. 💓
Our Heavenly Father, we come to pray for @autumnfaith4601 and her daughter. I pray Lord that you may remind your daughters and all single mothers that you are a father to the fatherless. ”A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.“ (Psalms 68:5 ) and may your Holy Spirit be with them and let your will be done in their lives on earth. In Jesus name. Amen.
Can I just say it’s so beautiful that I see how you both are re learning how to be a mother and father biblically but the last 15 or so episodes I’ve seen something so different between milena and Jordan…Jordan brings more masculinity and Milena is shinning being in her true subordinate feminine. Is it just me who’s noticing?? Lol. Milena USED to be very annoyed if Jordan over talked it almost felt uncomfortable sometimes to watch 😅you could tell she didn’t care when he went off on a tangent and now I can tell she’s holding her tongue more and letting HIM speak and letting him also lead in the podcast. She’s truly walking the walk and talking the talk. ❤
This was SO TIMELY! Praise God. My husband and I were just having a conversation the other night about how each of us will be with children in the future. And I was having a hard time accepting that he wasn’t going to be as gentle with them as I would think I would be. And wow this spoke to that so well and I appreciate you for sharing. ❤
to be slightly dramatic for a moment: the Lord is answering my prayers through y’all’s content. no joke! my exact prayer the last few nights as i’m awake nursing the baby has been that the Lord would guide me and form me into the *parent* he desires for my children; a parent that is biblical and encouraging. i feel like this is God showing me that i’m not JUST a *parent*, i’m a mother! i have a beautiful, gentle, biblical role to play in the raising of my children and by allowing their father to FATHER them alongside me MOTHERING them, we will be raising them in a way that is glorifying the Lord. thanks for this episode yall!
I'm a Disciple of Jesus Christ, single-mother, and I study psychology with a concentration in child development. I have always felt so discouraged by these statistics, but the LORD can redeem!!! Pray for the absent parent and pray for your children. The LORD can redeem any circumstance. Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
As a newly single mother I 100% agree! And I feel the LORD teaching me so much through your podcast (and HIS word) and this is exactly what has been on my mind and heart since my children’s dad and I separated. I was struggling trying to play both parents rolls but now I hear God constantly telling me in many different ways that Im my children’s MOTHER and I can’t also be their father! It has been humbling, to say the least. And I feel so much peace knowing this. The LORD is their father and He will not abandon them. I do pray through that He would send a godly man into our lives to be an earthly father for them 🙏🏼
This is so good. I have a 20 month old and a newborn and my oldest is getting to the point where we are really needing to set some good boundaries in our home as father and mother. We have really been struggling to find what that should look like and this is SO incredibly helpful!! Thank you for making this content!!
I really enjoyed this episode. You delivered this complex message so gracefully both of you. You had me convinced/convicted at "parents' was not in the Hebrew/Greek ancient Bible. I did not notice how this "parenting" generalisation was used to distort the family unit in our modern culture. This is very interesting to point out. The same idea could apply to many other words for sure. I'd love for you to keep talking about each father & mother role as God is showing you. Thank you for sharing the understanding and wisdom that you received on this topic. And the closing prayer was beautiful and so on point. It is amazing to witness how the Lord is leading you and shaping you both to who you are meant to be each individually and together as a husband and wife, and as a family. May God keep blessing you.
I rarely comment but this was FIRE 🔥 thank you for pointing this out! The enemy wants to destroy God’s Word and starts with redefining words and twisting their definitions! GET IT!
I love this thankyou for this!! And I’m a single mom but i tottally agree with this! I have made amends with my sons earthly fathers and I do try to make sure that they realize that fathers are beautiful and amazing and that my boys are going to be men one day! I have a prayer request can you guys pray that god will bless me with a husband in his timing and that my boys will look to god and lean on their Heavenly Father for everything!
Thankyou and also I newly got saved like 2 years ago my sons are older children but not preteen and I’m 30 what suggestions would you have to plug into a community of Christian women I feel like I’m in a season where everyone my age is married or they don’t understand my new walk with the lord so it’s hard finding friends. And could you guys do a video on how to shepherd your kids especially boys? They are also new believers and we listen to worship music together pray sing and they see me so on fire for Jesus but they seem to get disinterested in it.
I definitely agree that fathers and mothers do have some distinct roles to play and ways to do things. That said, I think that “parenting” was not only borne of gender non conformance, but out of a lack of contribution from fathers. Not in a purposeful way, but the enemy attacks from many points. Unfortunately, many fathers after the industrialization of America became less present in the lives of the children. The provider role became a reason for fathers not to take on other responsibilities for their children. Women aren’t better at bathing children because they have a natural knack for it. They just do it more often. This can be shown in the way that parents’ (I’m using that word because it is in fact in both mothers and fathers) brains adjust to baby. The more any parent (including adoptive) responds to the needs of an infant , the more their amygdala grows. Which contributes to the understanding and anticipation of the needs of a child. I digress. Also, while that study looked at the presence and feeling towards a father, I wonder how much the mother’s parenting decisions due to the father’s neglect played a role. Often mothers without a father figure in the house become what Jordan Peterson refers to as a devouring mother. Often this mother had tied her identity in her children so much so that she frequently gives in to them and makes excuses for them. So, children may feel that their mother is the best mother in the world, but she has created monsters who have little to no self accountability. This is a trap that is incredibly easy for any mother to fall into, but especially when fathers are not active or present.
This podcast episode was so good and helpful for my husband and I. Thanks for sharing all the research and encouragement. Listening to this with our AirPods with our little ones sleeping was like having a couples Bible study together. We had a great conversation after this episode. ❤
😂 Laughing as my kid sits here listening with me. Thank you for this distinction, I very much see and appreciate the different roles my husband and I play in our children’s lives.
From experience I would agree with the father having a great impact. I had a very dysfunctional mother but my father was and is still invested in his adult children and I attribute the fact that me and my siblings are fairly stable adults because of him.
Such a great episode! Very eye opening! Now I understand that me telling my husband to be gentle and sweet at all times is wrong. That’s my job) thank you very much
Reminds me about captivating and wild at heart book. Definitely each role is vital but not everyone’s story involves both a mother and father there and present. Would to hear more on this topic of the two roles as what society says vs what the Bible vs The day and age we live in is hard to separate and make sense of
Such an eye-opening episode! Thank you guys so much for shining light on this topic, I'm not a mother myself yet, but I found so much wisdom through your words. Also, Milena looks so beautiful and glowing ❤
YOU GUYS - this is so good! 🤍 Thank you for being so bold in your faith and bringing Biblical Truth to the forefront in a culture that is polluted by worldly ideas. Words matter. Gender roles matter. Scripture matters.
This concept is ON POINT . This is something I’ve been discussing in my local community and people need to hear this ! Keep going in the faith. Y’all have become the real deal and it’s shows . 🙏🏽🩵
Prayer request for my sister: the father of her son is currently in prison for abusing my sister. Please pray for her and her son’s safety when he releases and the future of her and her sons lives to be radically changed from what they have experienced in the past and full of peace and hope
Is Jordan working on a fatherly Bible study? Or have any advice for fathers who are looking to deepen their understanding of their role in the family and household?
Very true. I love that you guys are young but seeking the real truth in the word of God. I have one question - Jordan mentioned something about speaking in tongues when Milena tried to say ' mascunility' 😂. How do you guys view the idea baptism of the Holy Spirit with the sign of speaking in tongues? Just curious because it's a topic that many are trying to avoid but it's in the Bible and there are folks that still believe in that. In fact, the first ever church was born specifically through baptism of the Holy Spirit with a sign of speaking in tongues. So I'm wondering how you guys view this?
Yaay so good to see someone commenting from my area! Hello from Slovakia, more specifically Kosice/Kassa. :)) And yes, that word is so funny, we also use it the same way.
Hey Milena & Jordan. What do you think about anointing oil? Do you believe it is biblical to use it? I feel that I have read it’s good to use but that other parts of the Bible where it says you shouldn’t use it on an outsider or common people in i believe Exodus 30:32? I just wanna know you guys opinion
I love what the Lord is using you for. I can appreciate the delicate Christian apologetic standpoint you're coming from, but also want to encourage you to be bold in what the Lord has given you to share. It will bless those with ears to hear without you needing to feel sorry to be the messenger. I dont mean this as criticism either, but as true encouragement!
Hey Milena this is coming from a conservative and traditional biblical Christian woman who loves your videos….You guys have a big influence with a lot of people and saying such strong statements like “your never going to use the word ‘parenting’” again comes off a bit legalistic and honestly “hoity toity”. Parenting does not mean anything bad unless you MAKE it mean something bad. It is an efficient term that we have that simply means the combined act of both “mothering” and “fathering”. You practice biblical parenting which is by you mothering and Jordan fathering. What term do you have now to describe the combination of both those things that you together do for your children?
That comment about “the road to hell is paved with good intentions” was so out of pocket. I respect you man, but actually think about what you’re saying first. Good intentions are vital to everything we do, especially as Christians. The Holy Spirit guides our intuition by using our sensitivity towards good. I’m aware that good intentions alone do not justify actions or necessarily mean that it’s from God. But every intention we have must first be prefaced with GOOD. The entire point of that phrase is to point out good intentions CAN lead you down a path that goes toward hell. But you have to add the caveat that good intentions are still a necessity. We need discernment to understand WHICH DIRECTION our good intentions are leading towards.
I usually love all of your videos, but after finishing this I'm a bit confused. I get the point that a father's and a mother's role is different. And that can be said in a few minutes but I think in this episode you've just repeated yourselves over and over again. Interesting concept though!

Had the point of the video been to reinforce the importance of fathers, that would’ve been fine. However, this is making a problem out of nothing and highlights a fundamental misunderstanding of the English language. This should not be taken as advice and the speakers should reconsider their take. Praying for you and your daughter 🤍
I’ll be praying for you ❤ god will bless you and your daughter when you guys are ready! Just keep on praying and working on leaning on Jesus!
Our Heavenly Father, we come to pray for @autumnfaith4601 and her daughter. I pray Lord that you may remind your daughters and all single mothers that you are a father to the fatherless. ”A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.“

Yesss, making it more pleasant to watch and also proving their point beautifully!
The transformation have been genuine ❤
I agree. We’re able to watching the flow of the masculine and feminine interact in a healthy way.

The best thing to do as a mother/ father single or not widowed or not... pray. Pray. Pray. Read in His word. God will bring you through it.

What wonderful insight. May God Almighty continue to bless you both and us when it comes to mothering and fathering our kids❤
Thank you for sharing the truth in love. It’s a breath of fresh air. Your efforts are an encouragement to many. ❤️
Yes! We need to take these words back! I am a mother, not a birthing person or a pregnant person! I breastfeed my baby I don’t chest feed!
This podcast has to be one of my favorites from you guys!
Awesome🩵
Glad you enjoyed it! 😊
What a beautiful ending prayer. Thank you, to you both, for your obedience and being a light to this world. ❤️

Jordan “wait how do they put you in there” after Milena reading the verse was so sweet🥹🤍
Love this! Bold of you guys to discuss this Topic and I’m glad you did it 👏🏼👍🏽
This podcast episode was so good and helpful for my husband and I. Thanks for sharing all the research and encouragement. Listening to this with our AirPods with our little ones sleeping was like having a couples Bible study together. We had a great conversation after this episode. ❤
This is so good! The Word does use”parent” when instructing the children to obey their parents.
But I get the idea behind it.
😂 Laughing as my kid sits here listening with me. Thank you for this distinction, I very much see and appreciate the different roles my husband and I play in our children’s lives.
Thank you for speaking on this Milena and Jordan!!
This was SO good! I had never heard this perspective before. It really blessed me!
I shared this episode with my husband and we had an interesting conversation. He liked this concept of _fathering_ and _mothering._
This was so impactful!!! And makes so much sense. Thank you Jordan and Milena!
From experience I would agree with the father having a great impact. I had a very dysfunctional mother but my father was and is still invested in his adult children and I attribute the fact that me and my siblings are fairly stable adults because of him.
Love listening to you both while cooking and cleaning ♥️♥️♥️

Thank u for such an awakening episode and topic!
Really interesting topic! I’d love a more in depth video on both mothering and fathering as per the bible ❤

The strange thing is that in my language (Hungarian) parent is 'szülő', which means 'who gives birth' but we use it for both mother and father 😀
Yaay so good to see someone commenting from my area! Hello from Slovakia, more specifically Kosice/Kassa. :)) And yes, that word is so funny, we also use it the same way.

This is silly. They aren’t gonna disregard their conviction over how it makes you feel
What they do to together is father and mother…. They can’t do the same thing when it’s different roles.
@@tressawoods not saying to have different roles
Right Milena mothering and Jordan fathering the combined act of that is called biblical parenting….
What was the thing Jordan read out first? By who? Christian? Or other study?
It was from an article by Jeremy Pryor called "Why I Don't Believe in Parenting". Jeremy is a Christian!
Thank you d
For this podcast ❤

Sometime there us no father and mother.
If you're gey,
If you're a single mom because you came out If an abusive relationship
I usually love all of your videos, but after finishing this I'm a bit confused. I get the point that a father's and a mother's role is different. And that can be said in a few minutes but I think in this episode you've just repeated yourselves over and over again. Interesting concept though!
Yeah I feel like it never got to the point
Where does the Bible justify divorce in the case of abuse?
And honestly I’m not sure if there is any of these English verbs in the Hebrew that are in the Bible, but let me know: “mothering” “fathering” or “parenting”. But either way again it genuinely is slightly legalistic and this truly can become a slippery slope. Together you and Jordan engage in parenting and separately that means you “mothering” and Jordan “fathering”. It comes off like an indoctrination that the word parenting now needs to be shunned
This is such an overblown take. Parenting is an overarching term for the raising of children, of which both a mother and a father fall under. Both a mom and a dad have unique, God given roles to play, but there is still significant overlap between both of them in how they take care of their kids. Had the point of the video been to reinforce the importance of fathers, that would’ve been fine. However, this is making a problem out of nothing and highlights a fundamental misunderstanding of the English language.
This should not be taken as advice and the speakers should reconsider their take. There are plenty of words that aren’t in the Bible which we still use, that is an incorrect metric for word choice acceptance.
