I've never tried Vanille Antique but you definitely have some fragrances here that I really want to get my nose on. Silky woods, Insulo, and Dionisio sound especially great to me. I will have to check them out.
Yes I love Vanilla Antique byredo. And I agree about Mercedes Benz club black. Very close. I need to try the Jeroboam and Terenzi fragrances and compare too but I love MB Club Black and use it as a great alt of VA. Great video.
I find that Margiela Whispers in The Library somewhat reminds me of Vanille Antique. However , WITL also has a performance issue. There are some left at discounters, but overall it’s a alternative for me when it comes to that woody/church pew smell combined with vanilla
Byredo’s fragrances usually disagree with my skin, for some reason. Vanille Antique is unfortunately no exception. It smells great on paper and others, though. Diptyque’s Eau Duelle is my favorite alternative. Not exactly the same as Vanille Antique, but it scratches the same itch, so to speak. I will check out the great suggestions presented in this video!

Great video, very detailed assessment of Vanille Antique's scent profile! 👍 This is a 'safer' vanilla for me, lack of florals make it as you stated, more syrupy and that's my type of vanilla. And yes, it's megabucks, lol! I'll try the Tiziana & Goldfield scents out and see how close they are for me, or if I even prefer them!

I have the korres black sugar that I got based on your favorite cheapies videos. It's yummy, but I like the other rec I bought from that series more. The Joop! Le Bain has a bit more lasting power for me. I just placed a scent club order for the first time, so I am looking forward to that.

I really enjoy vainlle antique, but I´m not sure why, ´cause its not listed (maybe is the musk) I get a little leather in the middle, and then it gets woody as you described.
I have really been wanting to get a sample of dionisio. I like animals..... Enough to actually add something like marlou ambilux underneath a lot of my fragrances.
I have the Kayali Vanilla 28 it's a little smokey on me, not super sweet. I purchased the sampler which was a great find to try several of the purfumes.

I would suggest anyone interested in TT’s Dionisio to try a sample first. I think it stinks something awful. Also, I personally don’t think it smells anything like Byredo’s Vanille Antique because I love that one. I can’t really say here what I think Dionisio smells like. 🤐😝
Hmm which year did you try? I wonder if 2021 and 2022 have gotten more animalic? Cause one comment here says it's not animalic to their nose either and they wear the 2020 version. ?

So when I add ambilux for an animalic undertone, you have to hardly put any at all on the skin then cover it. Ambilux is strong, very funky stuff.
Be warned. Apparently they change from year to year. It's gotten more animalic. I haven't tested the other editions except for the one I have. :)

You need to try rasasi ebhar. It smells just like Mercedes Benz Club Black only that one leans smoky while this one leans fruity

That may well be the case. For me it’s one of those fragrances that just smells better on paper than on skin. Hence the whole Library take/angle…
