@@harrys_railway we wanted to do that one so bad! Unfortunately we couldn’t get the timing organised with our other activities so missed out 😟 next time for sure! Thanks for the suggestion 😁
Well you did miss the Odeon which is on the cliff by the railway. It's very cool and it's history is very interesting. Also scattered around the island are hundreds of bunkers from ww2. And just before the golf course there's a little foot path and hidden on the footpath is a cave which the Germans used in ww2. It's not directly on the footpath its on the side. Thank you.
So apparently I need to go to Alderney now too! This was awesome to watch guys! Beautiful content! And those hedgehogs are so cute! Looking forward to the next one! x
Really enjoyed your video of Alderney and remember the little planes at Guernsey airport going to Alderney. Some good tips to enhance any visit there and the veggie meals looked delish.
Thank you both it was a real pleasure to accompany you on your visit. Looks like the boat trip went well and thanks for showing the island off at it's best!, oh and Gemma your pronunciations is great but the white is definately a lot of poo, plus 11,000 birds :)
We are so grateful for your tme and energy Roland! I hope your trip to and from the UK was a smooth one. Please send our thanks to the whole team at Alderney WT for all their hard work
Subbed. i started my passion for photography and actually sold my first photo from there on Alderney back 31 years ago i need to go back and explore. id certainly be making a youtube video of it
Great vid guys. Been watching you throughout the government lockdowns really enjoyed your content and the quality of the filming is getting better each time :-) thanks
Nice to see you are checking out all the islands whilst in Guernsey, doesnt look like the airport has changed much lol, or the plane ride, if you want to try another island with warmer waters come to the Cayman Islands,
Alderney not really changed since I left there in 2001. Have some great memories of the lovely island. 1st time seeing The Blonde Hedgehog, looks amazing.
Alderney is a mile long and half a mile wide. Its possible to walk everywhere. Been there many times with the rn , used to go to the divers pub and seaview hotel. It featured in tbe eagle has landed, if you remember that. Both the airstrip and harbour and pubs. Alderney has one of the most tidal waters in the world changes 50 ft in 4 hours.
Finally got the time to watch this video and you guys are never disappoint with amazing places. That bell tower was just super amazing, the Gannet Rock is spectacular and I cannot even imagine how this trip must have felt like... one thing that stood out to me the most is the sense of "normality" that you guys happened to experience which is waiting for us all here in the mainland. Such a great island, such an amazing place and I cannot stress enough that the quality of your videos are getting better and more cinematic now... kudos to you both. ;)
Thanks for watching mate!! Yeah it was so amazing to be able to “travel” again, somewhere different and exciting. Looking forward to more in future. Thanks again man!
I’ve never even heard of Alderney before now but defo going to put it on the list. Happy bday Gemma for next week 🎉 such a great video and you are brave for going for a swim. Lordy lordyyy haha
It's funny. A lot of us islanders rarely travel to the other islands. Especially us from Jersey and some from Guernsey. I went to Guernsey once as a kid. I'd like to revisit Sark for night time photography one day. The one I want to go to is Herm with its interesting beach on the North side.
Yeah its always the same, your own back garden is the last place we tend to explore! Sark is amazing for night photography! And herm is amazing as well
@@highlands2hammocks Just watching a few of your videos. Have you popped across to Jersey yet? Overall probably many similar characteristics, but there are plenty of gems to be found over here. Also, authentic Jersey milk :)
@@naycnay that was next in the list but because of lockdown we just didn’t have time unfortunately.. leaving guernsey next week so maybe sometime in the future!
Team H2H, love your channel. Alderney appears to have a raw beauty that reminds me of Block Island or Nantucket. My girlfriend and I are based in Flordia but hope to relocate to Guernsey in a few years. Will be hiking and biking Hadrian’s Wall next May for my 50th birthday and then a week with all my cousins who live in St. Albans north of London. The plan was to head to Guernsey for two weeks after that in June (2022) and rent a house. But now seeing this video do we manage the additional travel and rent in Alderney instead?
Wow we have never been there but that is interesting! I would suggest spending a couple of days over here at least, just to see it for yourself. Maybe two weeks here would. be too long, but two weeks in Guernsey would allow you to hop around the other islands too!
@@highlands2hammocks no no date yet. Crypto even though down has done well for us and is doing so, `passive income`. So nearly there in that respect. Hard to plan anything as you know. fingers crossed this year.....
