That's scary. My aunt had a clot related emergency like once a year for a decade. They finally found an aneurism in a blood vessel in her brain. They couldn't repair it, so they just had to treat it with medication. A few months later she had a really bad pain in her hip. She had a clot inside of her pelvis and a bunch of tissue had died. That was like 30 years ago lol. She's in her 90s and she just smokes weed all day. God bless, frankly.

As someone who has experienced a DVT in BOTH femoral veins (strange but not unheard of effect of Rheumatoid Arthritis), this is indeed some serious shit. I’lll be on some version on blood thinners for the rest of my life and have had to have several PEs sucked out of my lungs. I hope for the best for Deion.
My childs father had a blood clot in his left calf he died within weeks. Idk if he even took the medicine or if they were going to do the surgery. He never told me until it was too late. He was a football player too. 🙏🏽 praying for coach prime

As a Med student, this is quality information that is easily digestible to the general public. One of my former professors always said, if you can explain something well enough that a 3 year old can understand it, then you truly have knowledge of what you’re talking about. Fine work bro 👌🏾.
I’m wondering if Deion will have to have a more invasive procedure soon. I’m a former VI tech and Ive seen cases like these often. Im guessing they did a thrombectomy and placed a stent in his iliac, if he didn’t have one already. My fear is that he will eventually have an above the knee amputation to save his life. He says he has no feeling in the bottom of his left foot. If you notice, he seems to have a had a cutdown procedure in the left leg, some time in the past. These things don’t normally tend to get better😔.
What are your thoughts on possible treatments and long term prognoses for Deion?
Very good comment here. So. If he has the thrombectomy and the artery is streamlined and patent and good via a stent, are you saying that newly restored good arterial flow might not be able to reverse the below knee chronic injury from low oxygen for all this time? Thanks
I think this started with complications after foot surgery. I thought he had fasciotemies for compartment syndrome at some point. Maybe unrelated.

As someone who is only 27 and relatively healthy all things considered, I really wish I could understand how to stay healthy and deal with very minimal issues as I continue to get older. I just wish I understood how to minimize all issues. At some point, I feel like everyone of us will deal with nonsense even in our 30's and 40's regardless of us being "healthier" too. It's scary and sad to think about ngl.
Remain active, eat tons of fruits and veggies, see your doctors, get your vaccines, lose weight, drink tons of water... it's a whole lifestyle thing plus hopefully have good genetics. I'm 42 with almost no health issues. I've been eating healthy and going to the gym consistently since I was a teen.
Not smoking cigarettes or any other smoke into your lungs is an easy place to start. Another easy place to start is making sure your system gets plenty of dietary fiber. Fruits and vegetables, lettuce. Build up of bad cholesterol can cause a huge amount of issues that you won't notice until decades later. Eating a simple piece of fruit and a small serving of veggies everyday or at least a few times a week can really make a huge difference when you're 40 or 50. Compared to eating like shit.

You have to take it upon yourself to do the research, then trial and error to see what works for you. Thats the easy part though. After that come the discipline to actually put your plans into action! Thats the hardest part lol

10 or so years ago In my softball league a guy broke his ankle rounding the bases. Later that night a clot formed related to the break and killed him. The crazy things people survive that they shouldn't in comparison with everyday injuries that result in death is wild.🤯

My dad actually died from a pulmonary embolism in January he had meniscus surgery developed clots in his legs and one went to his lungs he stopped breathing so I know first hand how devastating these can be 💔😢

Yeah it was really bad he was 75 so he was up there but it was really tough still had the surgery unfortunately sounds like didn’t move as much as he was told to after and it just all happened really fast couldn’t breathe they tried to revive EMTs but couldn’t

I like watching fight videos and you will see someone get KO'D and I always wonder what you should do if someone is unconscious. If thick blood is a problem I wonder if it is a bad idea to be living at altitude in CO verses the coast at sea level. Thinner air equals less O2 which equals thicker blood to compensate the lack of O2, what do you think Doc?

Deion Prime Time Sanders. My prayers are with you brother. I. Am 62 and have had DVT 4 times two in each leg . I have gone to a program at my hospital .I can work out on all the weight machine,s and cardio rehab machines. My favorite machine is the new step machine. Don't take the blood clots lightly. By the way I go to the hospital rehab because I am in an controlled environment if anything was to happen to me their are PT,s, trainers, nurses and doctors. At my hospital it only cost me forty dollars a month. Insurance would rather pay out patients physical therapy.bills that are in the thousands of dollars but won't pay the forty dollars.I did go through 8weeks of Physical therapy. And then was able to get in the monthly program. I named my yellow Labrador retriever after you Ceaser Neon Deion.and have followed your career since you played baseball and then coach Bobby Bowden for football 🏈. Hope you have a good recovery and don't forget to be active which you are and keep your legs elevated when you have downtime . Well for now Peace Out and God Bless Coach Prime.
so , can those clots create a blockage that causes an artery to burst or is that not likely to happen. I just kinda saw it happening like what had happened to one of my gatlrden hoses , it developed a leak but it expands on the outside instead of bursting , but the pressure built and it burst and shot water everywhere. i guess it sorta was like an aortic dissection ( which in humans is painful and often ( but not always fatal)

The worst part is that he got COVID and the complication was he developed those blood clots. I mean he already had to have a couple of toes amputated because it. That on top of the years of foot injuries he suffered in the NFL did not help with the circulation issues as well. He even had to get chunks of his skin removed because of the complications he suffered from COVID and his past foot and leg injuries he suffered. All this s adds up.
That's not true. Blood clots run in his family. I watched the Prime in Jackson Documentary. Plus the dislocated toe on that foot was giving him the extreme pain. Covid had nothing to do with his situation.
