I am a natural strawberry-blonde, and like many natural redheads I've noticed my color fading over the years. I have been hesitant to try henna, but decided to try your glossing treatment as a first step and may I say I was pleasantly surprised and happy with the results. I added some cinnamon and nutmeg (ommited the vinegar), I read that would add some more dimension to the color. What I ended up with was a slightly deeper version of my "natural" red hair. Thank you for this video!
I've been using this method for a couple of months, and I'm very pleased with the results. I double the recipe because my hair is longer, and kind of thick. It's easy to do, and leaves my hair with a lovely shine, and softness. Cannot thank you enough for this video.
Your hair looks beautiful! I will have to try this. I tried using clear henna a couple of years ago to make my hair shiny, I think your recipe looks much better/easier than the way I did it. P.S. I LOVE your walls & I love raw honey hehe :)
Thanks, Sarah! You know, it's funny because I always wanted bright walls, but now that I have them, I would gladly paint them white tomorrow if I could! :-) The house was like this when we got it, so we didn't really want to change anything, but one day I would love to tone them down a bit. Glad you like them anyway! :-) xx
Thank you for this video! I was looking for a video that discussed henna on naturally red hair, and your looks somewhat like mine. My thumbnail is my natural, never colored hair. My underactive thyroid and my age are causing my hair to dull and thin. Trying this treatment as we speak for more shine, thickness, and maybe a tinge more of my youthful color! Looking forward to seeing my results! I watched lots of henna glosses, many recommended some essential oils, so I added rosemary and spearmint, and the experience was absolutely aromatherapeutic at the same time!
@@Vitalivesfree I let dye release for 20 minutes, left on for 20 minutes, and was very red, but I'm not sad about that! But, I may use less henna in my gloss in the future, and I may leave out the ACV. I'm also chalking it up to my super porous hair. Thanks again!
This is so helpful, thank you! I have been using henna for almost a year, but it is so time consuming and messy! This will be perfect! So happy to have found your channel and blog.
Catherine Lam Thank you! :-) Yes, you can, but it will take more effort to wash it off. Maybe try to wash it off just with apple cider vinegar the first day, and then the next day wash it off normally with whichever method you're using. You can also use kefir instead of conditioner. xx
Excellent video and great explanations. I have had my hair natural all my life , but I started dying with henna my hair in January with the same henna you use in the video , a few days ago I dye my hair with henna for the third time, always aplying in all my hair. My natural hair was a pretty dark brown with a 20% of white hair. Henna is great but my hair is some reddish but darker. You think if I try henna gloss my hair will be reddish more time and will stop darken? In my hair reddish fade in few days. Thanks and I hope you understand my bad English.
Do you mean that henna made your hair darker? That's very strange because pure henna only contains the red pigment and nothing that could darken the colour. But every person's hair reacts with henna differently, so perhaps it's just some kind of reaction between your hair and the henna. I know that depending on the temperature of the water and whether you use any acidic liquid (like vinegar or lemon juice) in the henna mixture or not, the colour will be redder or less red. But I don't think that would affect how much the colour will stay in the hair. The henna gloss adds very little colour compared to straight up henna, so on dark hair you probably wouldn't see much difference in colour. It's great for conditioning the hair though! xx
Henna gloss gives well anough colour without any vinegar (depending on how long you leave it on, of course), the vinegar's not needed at all, so not sure why it claims so here...? Otherwise a nice video!
+florenna Traditionally, something acidic is used to activate the colour more and to require less time left on hair. If it works without vinegar as well, that's good! I simply followed traditional recipes. Glad you liked the video anyway! :-) xx
Very beautiful! I love your curls and I have curls too. I want to henna but I am afraid that after awhile of losing my curls. Have you noticed any curl loosening? I can deal with a little bit of loosening but k don't want it to be straight
It'll turn blond hair orange... There is a better alternative...Senna italica (Cassia obovata), often called "neutral henna", is used as a hair treatment with effects similar to hennabut without the red color. The active component is an anthraquinone derivative called chrysophanic acid, which is also found in higher concentrations in root. Cassia obovata powder looks very much like henna powder, but generally does not stain hair or hands. It is an excellent conditioner which makes hair glossy and thick, with a healthy scalp
+Nialah shipman The whole point of this henna gloss is getting these gorgeous read highlights in hair. :-) And you seem to suggest that it's a bad thing. Of course, if you just want to strengthen hair, go for neutral henna. If you want the beautiful red highlights from regular henna, do a henna gloss. :-) I think you missed the whole point of the video. xx
+VitaLivesFree I've hennaed my hair for years... So I would never say using henna to give your hair a nice color is a bad thing. I know the benefits of using henna, also the drawbacks. people on you tube do not specify that this will turn blonde hair orange... My daughter found out the hard way what this does to blond hair. Not to mention it loosens the curl. I'm just stressing that point... No need to feel like I'm dissing your video, not necessary. I'm simply trying to save someone some tears.
+Elehcim Nessumssar Alright, no worries. I just think that everyone knows henna turns hair slightly red. That's the reason why people use it in the first place. Thanks for sharing! xx
+VitaLivesFree no, not everyone knows. You don't start off having volumes of information on something you've never tried before. And there are videos out there like this one, which I've watched that use henna as a conditioning treatment on dark hair that don't tell you blond hair will become orange... The titles were promoting the treatments for glossing and conditioning not coloring. Henna isn't a well known topic, not even many professional hair stylists know much about it. I just feel we should always look out for one another and our hair... That was my only intention when posting here.
+Elehcim Nessumssar I think I did mention that based on the time you leave the treatment on the hair, you may or may not get any colour. That's why it's always best to try it out on a hair strand. Personally, I don't get any colour at all if I don't leave it on for a long time. But then of course it might be different for someone with platinum blonde hair. Thanks for sharing your experiences! That's what RUclips is for: sharing our experiences, isn't it? xx

Buenas tardes, quería preguntarte si la mezcla que haces la dejas reposar algunas horas o la aplicar directamente. Gracias❤
Thank you so much for writing out the recipe out for us!

So happy that you found me! :-) xx
Do you wait for the dye to develop first sitting it aside for a while or do you apply it right away?
I apply right it away, but if you let it sit for longer, you'd probably get a bit more colour payoff. xx
Love your video .. Do you think I can replace conditioner with natural oil ?

I have experienced a TON of hair loss in the last year or so, and this would be good for that, yes?
+Caitlin Box Yes, it's awesome for that. xx
you should get your thyroid checked if you have a big amount of hair loss
frenchfry
Yes, I completely agree with that. Also low stomach is one of the main causes of hair loss.
Awesome! Thanks for sharing :) I'm definitely going to try this. And your hair looks lovely! :)
Naturacleopatra a Thanks so much! xx
How often you use this recipe ?
Once a week or once every few weeks. Whenever your hair needs some extra care. ❤️
