I love the G100. I think that Panasonic made a mistake in focusing on the vlogging aspect because the vlogging crowd were always going to highlight limitations in AF and stabilisation. If, instead, they had focussed on portable content creation RUclips reviewers might have been more kind. As a general small creative camera it is fantastic. I do like the Sony ZV1, but, as a camera, the G100 is far more useful. Being able to change lenses in this tiny form factor is worth gold.
Exactly, but ppl could point out that is an amazing camera, they just dont want to, i dont use it for vlogging and Man its amazing, pretty sure one of the best in that price range out there
Good little camera. Just bought one. The audio demos never seem to work - on almost all of the reviews which Ai have seen. Have a little Rode cheapie shotgun and a Sennheiser wireless mic for it, too.
Small in form factor but HUGE in ability. It has most of the attributes of the mighty G9 plus some no other Lumix has. Use mine for stills coupled mostly to a 20mm f/1.7. Brilliant‼️✌️
The only mistake that Panasonic did with this camera is putting the word vlogg next to it, besides that is an amazing camera, just bought it last month and Man i am so happy, this camera is way way superior to the Sony zve10, its clear for me now that Sony pay ppl to make their products look amazing when they are trash, just my opinion
I think you might have made a mistake showing off the OZO audio features. You were in selfy mode the whole time and it defaults to "tracking", regardless your settings in the camera unless selfy mode is turned off. Otherwise, I found your review very spot-on.
One wonders why most snappers need a 'high quality' output, when most images are viewed via Facebook via a phone. Only dedicated photographers print anything. You can view high quality images from Facebook (if you are even aware of the feature) but you do need a bigger screen than even a iPad.
What are the time recording limit for 4k and 1080? Does the camera heat-up when recording in 4k and 1080? The face detection focus seems to be constantly dropping? The OZO audio quality seems to be less than satisfactory? How to cancel the wind noise using OZO audio?
I think Panasonic is becoming more interested in Super35 and Full Frame sensors due to the light input and noise limitations of micro 4/3 sensors. Those are all the rage in the prosumer and professional world.
Hi @Kent Bergström . Thank you for watching. M4/3 will still have a place in the market. This is mainly due to the price difference between differently sized sensors and the lenses that accompany them. Thanks again - SB
@@livingdiyfferent check the specs to be sure but i saw a few reviews that mentioned that unlike the gh5, the g100 has a recording limit in 4k. that may or may not be important to you. I record bands so for me, it's a problem. may not be for you.
Trying to sell a truly disappointing camera in the 1st 45 seconds, which was heralded as the vloggers camera - that audience will be disappointed methinks. The AF didn't look great from the couple of reviews I have watched thus far.
The G100 is really damn great camera. The AF hunting has been fixed with the newer firmware. I actually use my G100 as much as my GH5. It is way better than people think it is.
Panasonic runs out of idea. This Lumix is packed with old features picked out of the G7 and G90, and without a headphone output. For vlogger really ? The stabilization is crappy as usual. And for the price tag I wud pick the latest Sony zv1 for vlogging.

Does it have clean video out at all?
I love how brits talk
Great review, you really do a great job highlighting the strengths of this camera

Great to hear, thank you, they are small but mighty!
Thanks for the great overview. No IBIS and the terrible autofocus seems to defeat the vlog briefing though.

It has stabilisation in video and in many lenses for stills seem to work well for me.
Honestly, the electronic stabilization with a stabilized lens on the G100 is way better than IBIS with a manual lens on a GX85 for example.
I absolutely love your camera reviews :)
That your MX5? Nicccce. Anyway, that thing is epic with an anamorphic lens.

Thanks John - we will bear that in mind next time!
How much g100 kit i mainly shoot stills.
Thanks for your view point
This camera might be the best camera under 1000€,maybe not for vlogging as Panasonic is advertising, yet the best on his price range overall
That moment when you've just baught a camera from Panasonic for vlogging, and then they release a dedicated vlog camera! AAHHHH!
What ever you bought is probably better than the G100 just because of IBIS
@@9adriano21 that's true!
Awesome review as always 👍🏼
Love your english😍
It does have external
mic port, just no headphone port.
Thanks, Howard!

Beginning to wonder if this is the nearest equivalent to an updated GM5 that we will ever get
Let's hope not! 😟
Nice review, but that rear facing sound recording didn't really work. You'd still need a mic' I reckon.
This camera OR iphone 11?
Are u joking right?
How is the low light capability?

Is this camera a sign that Micro 4/3 is soon to be dead?

why don't you talk about recording limits!
That's its most glaring weakness... an artificial recording time limit, so as not to sabotage their upper tier cameras.
Call me crazy but I feel like the IQ of my G80 is miles better
It isn't. 😆
dealbreaker, very limited record limits.
Maybe because Panasonic thought that vlogs aren't that long
@@livingdiyfferent 30 minutes in 4k

Yep. Why they don't just add better autofocus to g85?
Get a G9
