I’ve learned to control my pull towards people because I’ve seen that dysfunctional people will use it even if they have no intention to move further. The needy game playing ones will just keep you around for attention where they don’t promise anything so they can say they never did. But if you don’t control yourself, people will see this as weak boundaries & that they can play with you. And then our weak boundaries will have us hanging on hoping something else will develop & afraid to have the uncomfortable conversations. Now I don’t play & I truly am happy alone so someone has to come in & prove they’re capable of adding to my life. I’ve found nothing more powerful than this way of handling my relationships. It keeps me from wasting my time & heart energy. We should only have to learn these lessons a minimum number of times. Unfortunately it took me until 50😹🙈but it’s never too late🤩
