  • In this video I show you how to make a bar of soap using activated charcoal! I am remaking a soap that has sold out several times called Blackwood in this video, but the same rules should apply if you wanted to make a tea tree soap or any other scent. Activated charcoal is known for helping to draw out impurities and is ideal for facial soaps. Making an activated charcoal soap is surprisingly simple to do, you just need to make sure you are careful when you use activated charcoal to not inhale it. Wearing a mask is always recommended when working with it!

    Hi Nathan, when I mix AC with oil in a cup, I pour that into my soap at emulsion, then pour a bit of soap into the cup and use a small spatula to scrape it out and back into the soap base. I do this 2 or 3 times (only takes a few seconds), then wipe the cup out with paper towel and pop it into the sink. No messy charcoal oil in the sink then. Also, mixing the charcoal in oil the day before seems to bring out the black more.

    I noticed on this charcoal soap that was extremely smooth … sometimes I get little bumps (which I shave off) but are the little bumps due to not mixing enough, to much lye ? What causes that ?

    • @clover.soapworks
      @clover.soapworks  2 года назад +2

      Those are normally from air bubbles. I put a lot of effort into reducing air bubbles. Pouring when it is more liquidy can help.
