- In this video I show you how to make a bar of soap using activated charcoal! I am remaking a soap that has sold out several times called Blackwood in this video, but the same rules should apply if you wanted to make a tea tree soap or any other scent. Activated charcoal is known for helping to draw out impurities and is ideal for facial soaps. Making an activated charcoal soap is surprisingly simple to do, you just need to make sure you are careful when you use activated charcoal to not inhale it. Wearing a mask is always recommended when working with it!

I like watching the whole video because I am only a hobbyist and don’t get to make soap often. I live vicariously through these videos 😅
Thank you!! 😍😍😍
Found your channel.... Jerika Zimmerman gave you a shout out!
Ooh awesome! Thank you! :)
Hi Nathan!….
Absolutely love your longer Videos, they are great! 💛
Thank you! 😍
Such a beautiful soap! Gold Floozy, you literally made me laugh out loud.
lol isn’t everyone a gold floozy? Haha
I LOVE the whole process! ♥️
Love it, thank you ❤
Pretty! pretty ! WOW 🤯
Thank you!!!
That's gorgeous❤️
Thank u for sharing your experience
I love it✨️❤️
Oh my goodness. How gorgeous! 😮❤❤
Love your videos and soaps…just started watching, as I stumbled across your site last night.
Love it.
Hi Nathan, when I mix AC with oil in a cup, I pour that into my soap at emulsion, then pour a bit of soap into the cup and use a small spatula to scrape it out and back into the soap base. I do this 2 or 3 times (only takes a few seconds), then wipe the cup out with paper towel and pop it into the sink. No messy charcoal oil in the sink then. Also, mixing the charcoal in oil the day before seems to bring out the black more.
I love the long videos and your lovely soaps!! Keep on keepin on!!
Thank you! Glad you enjoy watching them!!! :)
I love your videos…I’m so glad I asked you in the group ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you! I need to make more! Or rather, just edit and post what I’ve made! I need to pay someone to do it lol!
Really enjoy watching your whole process! So cool to see the batch from start to finish!
I’m glad you enjoyed watching it! 😎
I like your formats! Just recently started watching - don't change them!
Ok! I’ll keep it as is! 🥰
I’m very new to soap making and learned a lot. I clicked on your video because I wanted to try using activated charcoal. Mixing the charcoal into the oils early was my biggest learning takeaway. Your video isn’t too long for a beginner soap maker. 🙂
Thanks for the comment! I still need to work on making more informative videos, but it’s what I got right now ahha!
I like watching the whole process (newbie soaper here)
Awesome! It also makes a good background noise to listen to as well!
Beautiful soap, love the colours you chose. ❤️
Oh my goodness thank you! I couldn’t see this comment!
@@clover.soapworks your welcome, love watching your videos. 🌹 Yeah RUclips have been having issues with comments lately.
Whole process please!
Very interested in your process 😊… would also like to see the cut on your multiple colored bars … just love watching you 😊
Thanks so much! You can find everything on my IG. I haven’t been super active on here in awhile. Too much work with what I’m doing!
What about soaking the charcoal in some water before adding it? Then blend
So pretty! Can I ask what size is this mold? Definitely the longer version 😊
I think it’s a 10 lbs mold!
Enjoying binge watching your videos. Nice work. You already pre blend your Titanium Dioxide with oil,you can do yhe same with charcoal
Thank you! I try not to make dirty cups if I’m just doing one color! But yes, good idea!
Thanks for your videos. The soap is precious 🤩. I personally like your current format because any comments you make are very important for my learning process. Do you make the gold color by mixing olive oil with the mica? Thank you from the heart 💜 and from Colombia 🇨🇴 for sharing your knowledge. 🙏🏻
Thank you! Yes, just mixed with a little olive oil. Don’t do too much!
I love this! Smack it! Smack it! lol Beautiful soap!
Lol smacked!!
What are you using to stir the gold on the top? I love your videos!
It’s gold mica with olive oil. And then a metal chopstick!
Subscribed, I like your method of dealing with charcoal soap! Charcoal and TD are both messy! I really don't know which is worse to work with?
Considering I don’t work with TD, I much prefer activated charcoal!
Привет. Мне очень нравятся твои видео. Ты можешь написать рецепт мыла с углем. Я начинающий мыловар и ты прекрасно все объясняешь. Спасибо тебе большое 👍👍👍
I just saw a video on bramble berry they said mix it in alcohol before putting it into oil
Hmm I’ll have to check that out. Usually, alcohol and soap do not mix!
@@clover.soapworks the lady said to dilute the charcoal it’s in the episode charcoal and rose clay soap I’ve seen other soapers say they do that too
Hello, thanks for vidéo. 🤩
what do you dilute your golden mica in?
Just a little bit of olive oil!
@@clover.soapworks ok cool tanks
I like your videos long or short
Haha thank you ♥️
Thanks Nathan! So, I'm wondering ... if you mixed the charcoal the day before in a small amt of oil, or glycerine - would it come out blacker? I think I read thatbsomewhere in a soap forum. I Love the top design! ❤️
I don’t know! I’ve never tried that! Sounds like a fun experiment!
I noticed on this charcoal soap that was extremely smooth … sometimes I get little bumps (which I shave off) but are the little bumps due to not mixing enough, to much lye ? What causes that ?
Those are normally from air bubbles. I put a lot of effort into reducing air bubbles. Pouring when it is more liquidy can help.
Beautiful soap 🧼 can I ask which soap calculator do you use?
Soapcalc!
@@clover.soapworks Thank you sweetheart
What kind of mask do you use? Or prefer to use during this process, or in general use
I’m just usually using an N95
How many total pound soap in your mold? It's pretty
I think 10 lbs for this one!
I love my activated charcoal soap, but the scent completely disappeared the next day! How do I stop this from happening?
Yeah that’s a hard one! I’m having the same issue! Use a strong scent like tea tree or mint?
Charcoal is often used as an odor absorber maybe it just "eats" the scent.
I have a question is that 6 pounds of coconut oil?
It’s not only coconut oil.
I think you would reach more people if you recorded video but not audio and instead had music overlaying the video and added text throughout with your info and tips.
Thanks for the tip! It already takes so long to edit and make one of these. I still have a long way to go! I appreciate it!
I love your on the spot commentary and reactions
I like the whole process. But I hate it when your neigh in the end. It irritates my ears. I think you’re quite a gifted soap maker.
Ok thank you for the feedback!
Wow I guess it takes thick skin to put yourself out there doing your thing AND ask for feedback. Don't know if I'm gutsy enough!
