Anna and Carolyn, your projects are just beautiful! I love the finished pieces, the WIPs, and your future plans. So much fun in this video! Thanks for sharing!!!
We just can't get enough stitching! I can still feel surprised by how immersed we are in this new (ish) adventure! So thankful you're part of our community, Stacey. Happy Crafting! -Anna
Congratulations on all of your finishes, all so beautiful and so great to see your Kathy Barrick designs. Also your finished shawl is absolutely gorgeous. It's always such a pleasure to watch your videos. You both are so creative and I very much enjoy spending time watching you. Thank you so much for another great video.
Thanks for your kind words, Lorraine. Carolyn and I can talk crafting for hours and hours - haha! We'll have to get Carolyn to snap a photo of herself wearing that shawl on her walk to school. Happy Crafting to you! -Anna
Happy birthday, Anna. Go for the birthday start! How wonderful you both got to meet Olivia. Congratulations on all the beautiful KB finishes. Loved my time with you both. ❤❤
Thanks, Sarah! Lots of love and time with the new baby on my birthday! Carolyn and I were all smiles after our time with Olivia, as we were after our visit with you. I'm hoping we California stitchers will find a way to have some stitching time together! Happy Crafting! -Anna
Great show! I loved the Barrick Patterns you showed. Then a visit with a friend in the wild! Best part--the photo'ing on a bench, camera pointed down. I miss my stitchy friends that I had in the state state I came from. We gathered often to share our stitching and just chatting. There is nothing like friends (and family) you can share your stitching with. Once a stitcher always a stitcher. And I agree with the last commentor, it is hard making friends when you are older. One last point--did you have on the same earrings. The sparkle was appreciated!
That was a fun moment during our visit with Olivia, as we were all taking photos. It was quite something seeing all that Kathy Barrick stitching grouped together! I think a lot of us are feeling a need to gather with other stitchers. I hope we can all start finding some simple ways to do that. And, haha, not the same earrings - similar aesthetic, though. Happy Crafting! -Anna
I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU TOASTED ME!!! Thank you ladies so much for the kind words, I'm so honored and humbled. It was so much fun getting to meet up with you and I can't wait to do it again! Such a successful inaugural meeting! By the way, I emailed KB and asked her about Crow No. 5 and she confirmed that it is indeed a specimen. I think he can be a living specimen. Maybe a favorite pet of a naturalist? 😁
Well, believe it! Carolyn and I were practically glowing after our hours together with you at NiaH. Let's stitch next time! Thanks for getting the deets about the crow - so happy to know that answer from Kathy. You had great insight regarding the perch - you must be a founding member of the Kathy Barrick Fan Club! Happy Crafting, Olivia! -Anna
Enjoyed your video today - so many lovely Kathy Barrick charts and stitches - she’s one of my favorites! I always enjoy too your knitting - you are both multitalented and so fun to see what you’ve been working on . Thanks for sharing.
The color changes Carolyn is making are just gorgeous. Her quilts back in the day also showed her deep understanding of color. I want her to show them during an episode. Happy Crafting, Kathy! -Anna
It's taken me several viewings to see this particular post. My life has been a bit hectic . I viewed it again in its entirety today so I could comment with everything fresh in my mind. As always, So Fun!! Your time with Olivia sounded amazing. She was new to me and I have now viewed her. I enjoy her now too. Loved Fredericka and Frederick , Crow 5, and the final choice to finish Merry Christmas Wishes. The shaw turned out beautifully as well. Loving the progress on all of your combined WIPS. Each new chart and plan, I'll be watching for. Those Poptart floss drops added a comical moment. Quite ingenious, Anna. I'm hoping you find the right colors for your BAP to school project. That Sunshine face always makes me want to sing Mr. Sun (which I do) from Barney. When my grandchildren were small they would watch it . I learned so many songs that are still in my head today. I've actually seen pelicans do their dive bombing act. So funny 😂. Hope you had a great birthday Anna. ❤ you both . Happy stitching and crafting, til we meet up again, Donna
Hi Donna. I can relate to watching FlossTubes in small chunks - that's almost always how I end up watching (as I'm enjoying my morning coffee). I can also relate to having children's songs stuck in my head - haha! I'm so happy to hear you have connected with Olivia's FlossTubes! She stitches beautiful pieces and is a beautiful person. Thanks for the birthday wishes (I had a happy one!) and Happy Crafting! -Anna
So great that you met Olivia and had the first meeting of the Kathy Barrick Fan Club! Someday I want to attend! I saw 2 Esther’s stitched in the pile. I recognized Olivia’s finish. Did one of you stitch Esther too? I love Esther so I always notice her. I currently have 2 KB wips and so many more kitted. Thanks for highlighting Kathy’s designs. Your Fredericka finish is fabulous, Anna! So is your Crow, Carolyn. I bought the Quaint Rose Nature chart too. Cant wait to see your start, Anna. I am not brave enough to use different linens and sew together. I think I will be doing it on one piece. Thanks for sharing ladies xx
We had a whole bunch of fun together! So glad you're in the club, Tricia! Maybe one day we'll be lucky enough to hang out all together! Carolyn stitched Esther awhile back. Do you know what linen you'll stitch "Inspired by Nature" on? Happy Crafting! -Anna
“Snuggle me” - so cute! And so gratifying for the knitting grandmother! What a wonderful meetup you had with Olivia B. I’m fast becoming a Kathy Barrick fan, working on her Wildflowers design. I’m very intrigued by Carolyn’s Ranunculus sweater; one of the women in my knitting group has made at least one - and it looks lovely - but I have a hard time with wide necked sweaters - my neck gets cold! I guess that’s what shawls and cowls are for! Can’t wait to see your next projects and finishes!
Are you joining the fan club?! What fabric did you choose for your "Wildflowers" piece? I have been intrigued by that pattern since it came out. Happy Crafting, Trudy! -Anna
@@we.are.curiouscrafters Definitely joining the fan club! I bought her new version of Good Intentions, even though I had already stitched the original. Wildflowers is a great design - I was able to find the called for linen Fox and Rabbit Seaweed on-line in 36 count - it’s a very dark olive/gray/green. I’m using all NPI silks. Enjoy the Northern California fall weather!
@@trudygongora7247 I'm about to start a project on Seaweed - it's cool! I'm down in Santa Monica for a workshop and the beach was just gorgeous today! -Anna
Your pieces are amazing. We need a 50 hour day to do all of the patterns that catch our eye…it is so hard to have something lovely just waiting for some time. The smiling sun on the BAP is adorable.
Although I do find looking at patterns and dreaming of stitching them satisfying - not as satisfying as stitching, though! Hope you're finding some stitching hours this week :) -Anna
There is a ton of stitching in each one of those salt boxes. They look small and then you start stitching and it feels like it took me all summer to finish one of them!!!
Thanks, Jodee! Carolyn and I enjoy planning and making these videos. And we often go out for pizza with our husbands after we film. It's become a tradition! Happy Crafting! -Anna
Love all your finishes and progress! I have to tell you, you girls got me into KB from your first piece. And I now own a collection of her patterns. That White Winter Moth was a dream to stitch. I was sad when I finished it. I love her use of color. Looking forward to seeing that BAP come alive. Looks very cool.
Hi Pam! Went back to your Instagram grid to see your White Winter Moth again - SO pretty. #KathyBarrickFanClub What Kathy Barrick piece do you think you'll start next?! I hope Carolyn continues to be in love with her BAP because her progress is so incredibly fun to watch! Happy Crafting! -Anna
!!!My husband and I enjoyed that concert so much!!! I'm still thinking about it! And I agree about Carolyn's color conversions. You should see her analytical mind at work as she's choosing colors - fun to hear all the things she considers. Happy Crafting, Robin! -Anna
Great video…both of your projects are so beautiful. I’m stitching the winter season of Seasonal Etchings - all on one piece. And I have stitched the Threadwork Primitives pattern and love it. Looking forward to seeing your take on it, Carolyn.
Just found your "Quaker Block Print", Clare - love it! I think I am going to use a variegated thread, as you did, when I stitch it. Isn't it fun when other stitchers stitch the same thing as you?! Instant connection! Happy Crafting! -Anna

And… I find the older I get the harder it is to make friends. I don’t know why that is. You both have lovely projects.
I have made some of my dearest friends throughout the years through crafting - classes and get togethers. I too would love to find a stitching group. The kind where you meet and stitch, with some chatting and simple snacks. Wishing you luck as you seek the same. Happy Crafting, Jo. -Anna

Carolyn. I've tried Ranunculus twice now and frogged both times. I love the colour of yours but I think I'm done with trying it.
