    Techart should make F to Z mount autofocus adaptors. They will sell bucketloads.

    The great idea of using adapters opens up a world of opportunities to push the boundaries. I have used Hasselblad, Pentax 67 on Z systems. I have had a lot of fun but missed the AF capability. Now, TECHART adapters offer more creativity and fun to go further on this route. Thanks for the info.

    I’ve taken the plunge and bought one along with a Leica M to F mount adapter. I’ve got a number of manual f-mount lenses coming from Zeiss, Nikon and also my favorite, a Samyang 135 f2 which I’d be happy to use again on my Z9. The Samyang is just creamy. I’d be a happy puppy to have that working with af! Will report back on how it all goes as soon as I’ll get the adapter. Cheers guys!

    You two are the best!🤣 That adapter sounds like a good addition to one’s kit for creative work! That would open up the door for a lot of manual focus lenses for Nikon. I just ordered the 7artisans 12mm f/2.8 II wide angle for the Z50 to try out for night photography. And use for the Aurora Borealis. We’ll see how it works. Figure I won’t be out lots of money if it’s a dud!

    The Fotodiox Propronto MtoZ AF adapter is much better built with a brass mount that easily handles heavier telephoto lenses and integrates with the Nikon Z focusing and metering system seamlessly. On the Z8 at firmware 2.0 works with every lens I’ve tested except for a 1958 Leica 21mm f4 Super Angulon- which needed a couple extension tubes.

    Can you use the aperture ring on the lens? Or you need to choose an aperture on the lens and adjust it on the camera as well for the camera to know which aperture you are using?

    I can not put some voigtlander into the adapter
    My Skopar 35/2.5 and nokton 50/1.5 II stuck , too tight to turn the lens to lock position. Im afraid that i would damage my adapter
    VM 40/1.2, I can squeeze it in but very tight. It get me some difficulty to remove the lens.
    But it work perfectly with my leica lens and all adapter M to F,PK MD .

    I see they also provide the adapter for LTM/M39 lenses, but what's the difference between:
    - Adapter (L39 - Leica M, 50.75)
    - Adapter (L39 - Leica M, 35.135)
    Are those values the focal length that can host? So, in my case, owning Voigtlanders LTM 35mm 50mm 75mm should I go for the Adapter (L39 - Leica M, 35.135) ?

    • @techartpro1420
      @techartpro1420 Год назад

      It stands for specific focal lengths. 50 / 75 one is for using it with 50mm and 75mm lens. Same goes to 35/135 one.

    • @atomobianco
      @atomobianco Год назад

      @@techartpro1420 thanks for the clarification. So as you say I understand that it's not a range (e.g. from 50 to 75 but it's 50 or 75). What would be the problem of using a 35mm lens on the 50.75? Edge blurriness? Vignetting?

    • @PkmX
      @PkmX Год назад +1

      @@atomobianco These adapters will bring up different frame lines on a true rangefinder camera, which makes no difference if you are just going to stack it on the TZM.

    Kon, at 3:54 an easy fix is to add the max apature in the "non_cpu data" section of the Z camera, and treat this leica as a Manual focus Nikon lens, Hint: in this mode the Nikon bodies 'figure out' what the apature is, without digital help (in A or M mode; AND you have to set the apature to 'use ring' not 'control wheel' method in the sub_menu), by other means, so this trick may work with these third party lenses?

    Hi both, thanks for the info. Very interesting. I have a few Voightlander and Chinon lenses with Leica mounts which via an adapter work well in MF on my Z7. For landscape, flower, macro and any photography where the subject is not moving I actually enjoy MF much more than AF. I find myself more immersed in the slower photo-taking experience and increased satisfaction from good outcomes. How much are the beanies please?

    • @emilhach6264
      @emilhach6264 2 месяца назад

      You didn't get it. This accessory takes everything the camera does to another level. If you just enjoy the satisfaction of not doing much, then so be it. This is for those folks like me who need to hold the camera over my head when there's tall folks and take no-look shots with vintage lenses or pluck birds eyes out of the sky with projector lenses. If having a lot more fun and accuracy is not for you, then that's silly. I think you ought to re-consider this tool for it's strengths, not compare what you can already do well without it.

  • @snoogly

    Somehow I doubt that best results are with lens at infinity focus. Surely a pre-manual focus at roughly the right spot (especially with longer focal lengths) will speed it up. I can’t see how it could make the results worse.

    • @meitelis

      depends on lens... on Leica mount TTartisan 50mm 0.95 it's when you set at infinity, although if you set at closer distance it can focus very close, almost macro... on F-mount Samyang 85mm 1.4 best autofocus when you set it at 7-15m distance, again if you prefocus closer you can get macro-like shots from much closer with non existant DOP :)
