    CONTENTS RECAP:
    • This roombox is made using mostly cardstock and craft sticks. You don't need any specific tools to make it!
    • The walls of this roombox can be removed and put back in place thanks to a magnet "place&lock" mechanism (patent pending 🤣). This will allow you to create a room with 4 furnished walls while still being able to look inside the room.
    • In this video, I'll also show you how to make a working window, a working door and a tile floor using cardstock.
    • This project is perfect for dolls like Barbie, Monster High, Blythe, Ever After High and even collectibles like Littlest Pet Shop and Sylvanian Family.
    • You can find the download link for the free printable template at the end of the video.

    You are just so talented. Everything you do is just so beautiful.
    Is the gesso you use to make the brickwalls, is that the same gesso, you use to paint the walls with?

    • @SimplystellaTV
      @SimplystellaTV  Год назад

      First of all wow, thank you!! 😮😍❤️❤️ And no they're not the same thing! I should have probably mentioned it. The one I used to make the brick texture is actual gesso (or stucco, I've never understood the difference 😂) whereas what I used to paint the walls is *acrylic* gesso. Acrylic gesso is a lot thinner then "gesso" gesso and can be applied with brushes (it has a similar consistency as acrylic paints, but dries to a more opaque and textured finish). Regular gesso is quite thick and you need some kind of spatula(or your fingers 🤫) to apply it. Hope this helps! 😊

      What are the main advantages of using wood reinforced cardstock over foamcore. Using foamcore for the walls would make it a lot simpler!😅 So I imagine there are reasons I’m not thinking of.

    • @SimplystellaTV
      @SimplystellaTV  Год назад +1

      @@clarissemiller3274 Main reason is availability 😂 I used cardstock and wood sticks because, at least in my experience, they’re easier to find and a lot cheaper. I always get mine at the dollar store; foam board is a pain to get... I have only seen it in art stores and it was way too pricey for me (+ it was never big enough for what I do 😞). I also think that cardstock may be easier to cut and that wood may be a bit sturdier, although I might be wrong 🤷‍♀️
      If you already have foam board, go ahead and use that instead! And don’t forget to tell me how it goes because I’m super curious.😍

    • @clarissemiller3274
      @clarissemiller3274 Год назад

      @@SimplystellaTV I agree the wood reinforcement probably does make it sturdier, but I don’t have the tools to cut the wood. I’m curious, what tool did you use?

    • @SimplystellaTV
      @SimplystellaTV  Год назад +1

      @@clarissemiller3274 they can be cut with a small hand saw, or even a sturdy cutter! Personally though, I'm lazy and have literally no muscles 😂😂😂 so I prefer to use a rotary tool (www.amazon.com/gp/search?ie=UTF8&tag=simplystella-20&linkCode=ur2&linkId=78d0140e7b9e9034189db1ad96a11f58&camp=1789&creative=9325&index=arts-crafts&keywords=Rotary-Tool). It works kinda like a drill, but it can also saw, buff, engrave, etc. I love mine 🤩

      @SimplystellaTV  Год назад +1

      Io l'avevo trovato una volta in un colorificio (non chiedermi dove perché parliamo del medioevo 😅)! Non l'ho comprato perché costava troppo (sono braccino corto) 🤣🤣 ma se dovessi trovarlo a un prezzo ragionevole vorrei provarlo anche io.. l'unico dubbio che ho è che non so se va bene per la mia scala (1:6) tutti quelli che ho visto lo usano per 1:12 o 1:24 🤔
      Comunque i bastoncini funzionano a meraviglia no? 😍

    • @LindaMarani
      @LindaMarani Год назад

      @@SimplystellaTV @SimplystellaTV l'idea dei bastoncini è fantastica, potresti costruire una casa vera 😂 il foam board l'ho visto usare da my froggy stuff e delighful dolls, ma loro usano probabilmente taglia A3. Oggi neanche farlo apposta l'ho trovato in un negozio dei cinesi 😲. Siamo magiche, l'abbiamo invocato 😂 2 pannelli A4 a 2,90€ mi sembra un prezzo decente, unico problema è che per scala 1/6 è piccolo e aveva un lato adesivo.

      A dremel with various attachments is a good tool to have. Can be used for slicing through things, drilling, sanding, polishing, etc.

    • @SimplystellaTV
      @SimplystellaTV  Год назад +3

      Haahahah yes I'm very spoiled 😅🤣 and yes that is a drill! If you don't have one, an awl could be a pretty good substitute, although it does require more strength 😂 (and time). As Shari mentioned, a Dremel-type rotary tool is great for this kind of projects, as it allows you to cut, buff and drill a variety of materials. I've even recently found a super cheap one that works surprisingly well!
      To be fair most of these projects CAN be made using just an exacto knife, an awl and a nail file - the "fancy" tools make the job faster/easier but they're not absolutely necessary! ❤️
