Awesome video! I'm just thinking. The strength in those planch push ups isn't coming exclusively from your arms right? After all, your arms are still only lifting your own bodyweight. I can bench press more than my own bodyweight. The strength is mostly coming from your core with the ability to lift yourself without bending at the hips. This is a different kind of strength where you're using your whole body as a unit. Am I right? How do you progress into doing those planch push ups? I have a strong enough core to do dragon flags, and I pulled of a front lever for the first time, but that's about it.
I may be a little bit late to reply :p but the strength is mostly coming from the (front part of the) shoulders. You need some core strength to be able to lift your legs up but thats reaaally not the hard part! Your shoulders have to be very strong. The reason you can bench press more than your own bodyweight but presumably not do a planche is because of something called torque but I won't go into that too much. If you can bench press your own bodyweight while having your hands in a vertical line above your belly button (a little under it even because that's where your center of mass is during a planche), then you can probably do planche push ups. This is a simple explanation but I could go a bit more in-depth so let me know if you have any questions.
