While I like the direction the podcast is taking I still wouldn't mind seeing Bob return but I respect him simply wanting to spend his time differently. I'm sure Bob will be back as a guest one day, that would be an interesting dynamic.

Wood being a solo host works so well.

I think the whole thing has been a learning experience for Wood and he’s getting better and better.
Technically they are guest co-hosts… but I wouldn’t be surprised if the terminology shifts more toward just “guests.” (Wood has probably said both, but I’m not sure.)
Having different guest hosts is the best idea. It keeps things fun and fresh. Way more excited with this new format. Congrats! 🙏🏻

The worst nintendo push selling was the N64 controller for switch online…. They knew full well they had no stock for over a year.. they continued to offer discount coupons for it, continued to market it online as a feature to new switch buyers, and even emailed repeatedly but had no stock for over an entire year.. that was NOTHING but false perception pushed entirely by Nintendo.. they were even threatened with court over false advertising practices in the UK over it and they still continued

Regarding backwards compatibility for Switch 2, it's really about just how good (and how much people love) the games are on it that they own and play on the current Switch. For a lot of games, people love them and don't want them to be stuck where they are. What they want is BC and have those games look and run better on the new hardware. Higher resolution, better frame rates (either stable 30fps or 60fps). People dream of playing their favourite Switch games with 4K (or even 1440p) resolution - via DLSS and higher and more stable frame rates. I really think Switch 2 will have backwards compatibility and it absolutely is a selling point, not just something that would be nice to have.

Wood, I was a huge fan of yours when the Switch came out and kinda fell off watching, but the podcast here is really good mate! You are doing an incredible job with it. I have listened the last two weeks out of curiosity and you have nailed it. Today's episode was awesome, I even shed a little tear as you guys reminisced about the Switch and had lots of laughs. I am looking forward to seeing who you have on next.
This podcast episode was great! Really fun to have Kit and Krysta here with Wood, you all jivved well together and that was really fun! ... But unfortunately I think the live chat here on RUclips was not as great. If I continue to watch stuff on here, I'm probably going to close/hide the live chat because I was not liking the comments and the vibe there.

On the issue of backwards compatibility: usually I want it so I can get rid of the old console. I'll still play ps4 games on my ps5, but I sold the ps4 console when I upgraded. I got a switch oled and gave the original switch to my brother. I still get an itch to play old games, especially before a new one releases in a franchise.
It's also a preservation thing. If I can play old games on newer hardware, it extends the life of those games by an entire generation.

The first console that I ever got on launch was the Switch OLED and that wasn't really the launch because I got the original base Switch like a year and a half after launch so I'm super excited for the next Nintendo console because I'm an adult now and can buy a video game console on launch (if I can actually successfully get a pre-order 🤞).

Great to hear Kit & Krysta's take on the chaos surrounding Microsoft/Xbox mixed messaging in regards to game exclusivity, K&K have many years under their belt working in Nintendo, they would have their finger on the pulse of what's happening.
And it is consistent with what the other industry insiders have been saying, there has never been a "strong cohesive messaging" on the Xbox proposition, be it games exclusivity, GamePass, or their consoles.

Joycons are innovative and all but I'm definitely ready for something better as the standard nintendo controls. I have big hands and i know i can and have bought larger third party joycons, but im most excited to see if they update the controllers for the better
Awesome episode! This format’s working really well man. But I definitely remember either Scoots or E saying Kit and Krysta were “being real Nintendo bootlickers” on the episode talking about Pointcrow’s content being copyright stricken though, because that comment caught me off-guard too.
This is true. I remember being taken aback when I heard that. It’s in Nontendo Podcast episode #49 at around the 18:53 mark. It technically wasn’t Wood who said it but he didn’t deny it or stick up for them all that much which I found jarring considering they were previous guests on the show.

In this episode near the end at 1:41:56 Krysta talks about how someone in their community was surprised they were coming back on the show because of how critical they were of them. Wood laughs and denies this. Insists that’s not true at all and asks for a time stamp of such a comment.
In the Nontendo Podcast episode #49 called “Nintendo Keeps Copyright STRIKING Zelda Content & Suing for MILLIONS” at around the 18:53 mark they talk about the Kit and Krysta podcast episode where they discussed the same topic and they called Kit and Krysta “bootlickers” and were overall critical on their take on the issue and siding with Nintendo’s decision.
Well, the guy who said they were bootlicking wasn't Wood or Bob, it was that pudgy, pasty producer guy, who passed on his opinion of what they said rather than actually what they said. Wood and Bob just responded to his version of what they said, and seemed incredulous that he was accurately describing what they said. I just went over to the video and watched it. That producer really needed to chill out and should probably apologize, lol

But I remember listening to the episode and feeling a bit taken aback that Wood or Bob didn’t shut that comment down or really defend them in anyway which I thought was a bit rude considering they had already been guests on the podcast and were considered friends of the show.
