The moment she said "you can nickname her Nessy" I immediately heard Bella Swan shouting "you nicknamed my daughter after the loch Ness monster!"
Oh yes!! I love it though!!!! ha ha :-)
@@SJ_Strum my god daughter is called Renesmeé and we call her Nessy :)
My dog is named Nessie! I love it and when she gets in trouble it’s Loch Ness
@@kennedy817 That's so adorable 💙💙
😂 but that's not a bad thing!
It's a good thing my mother keeps me in line when it comes to names otherwise my future daughter is gonna be called Tansy Tearose 🤣
I actually kinda like it.
How cute though!
But that’s adorable
Best name ever!
Tearose is SO cute!!! 🥺💕
the voice of Daphne in the Scooby Doo cartoons was Grey DeLisle! I love it
I love her as Azula in Avatar: The Last Airbender!
grey is a mix of light and dark so it's lovely (:
Thank you for turning my Monday around, SJ! Happy Baby Name Monday!! xx
Ah happy baby name monday Lydia :- )) xxx
There were so many good options today, thanks so much! My ultimate favorite would have to go to Marisol and Rosabel. Evalina is also quite adorable, it is so good to see her. Thanks again!
Azriel reminds me of one of the characters from the book series “a court of thorns and roses”
Thank you for another lovely video SJ!! Tansy and Junie are absolutely stunning🥰 And of course I’m happy to hear my own name in a video too :)
Ah I hope I said it correctly :-) xxx
I have a name that I think people should start using, that is :
Ismay: this name is really unique and rare and dates back to the 8th or 10th century and is also a surname . So it’s a very very old name that is really quite rare , and unique , but has rather mysterious obscure origins . I think it makes the perfect unique rare alternative to the popular name Esme 🌟😎👍🏼
So glad you mentioned Tansy which has been one of my favourite names for years. I also love that its derived from the Greek word for immortality.
Avril speaks to me from my Avril Lavigne days xxx
Yes so much! x
Ooo yes she was my first concert ever. It was such a big deal because my mom let me say the bad words hell and damn because I was singing at a concert. It was *legendary*
@@SJ_Strum there's an Avril in my class, I wouldn't have figured it was that low down on the list!
I actually had Sk8er Boi stuck in my head yesterday 😅
it reminds me of alice avril, who's the main character of agatha cristie's criminal games (i recommend watching, it's a great murder mystery series!!)
I would love to see a German names list!!! My husband is German and I really want to incorporate a German name for our future kids. One I love so far is Liselotte for a girl (pronounced lee seh lot uh.....approximately lol) for boys I like Felix and Friedrich.
I speak German so maybe I can help?
Here are some names that work in both languages:
Boys: Felix (obvs)
Joshua
Oliver
Benjamin

Girls: Petra

Hope this helps!!
@@alfred6272 thanks for the suggestions!!
My husband is German too and plan to name our kids German Names with Scottish middle names for me 💗 if we have a boy he will be Felix after his Grandfather 💕
My husband is also German and we’re expecting our first, would love to see this as well.
Some names in his family that I love but we probably won’t use are: Anton, Anadora, Maiken, Johana, Jonas, Margot, Charlotte, Madita, and Matilde
@@alfred6272 Sebastian as well!!
Starlette is my fav ... works so well with my daughters name Skylar. so I’ll have a star and sky
There's also Starry
Or maybe a different name with Star as middle name so you still have that as a nick name :)
Starlette is so unique, I’d go for it ✨🤩
Your face when you said 'Goodness' spoke a thousand words :) I do love Juni though. Have never heard it before.
My cousins name is Teal I've always admired it! She ended up marrying a man name Rusty lol
Hahaha i love that!!
Amazing
Fucsia sounds nice too

Love your list - Love your jumper!
I love that you used a Cicely Mary Barker illustration when you were discussing Tansy! As a child I had a little book of hers called Flower Faeries of the Summer. I spent ages as a child, gazing at the beautiful illustrations.
Oh I love the name Aina and the meaning is so gorgeous too - it went straight on my list! X
Hiya SJ Tansy is defo my fave name on this weeks list and has been added to my own list...thankyouuuu ((hugs)) x x
Absolutely loving Teal, Goodness and Tuppence!
We had a baby girl last year and I loved Rosabel as an alternative to my grans name Isabella which has become so popular! My partner just didn’t like any of my more unique name choices but we finally agreed on Lilianna and used Bell as a middle name for Isabella xxxxx
I really like Rosabel and Liesel. As a bonus video, I'd love one about all of your Sound of Music knowledge 😊❤
I actually think Starlet is quite cute. Scarlett vibes with Star as a cute nickname. In the US it's just a synonym for celebrity or movie star which seems alright.
I love Dove (and Paloma). I have Wren. Orlando Bloom and Katie Perry have Daisy Dove! 🥰
Ahhh I didn't know that was her middle name! xxx
@@SJ_Strum Yeah! I love it!! 😊xxx
Daisy Bloom (as in a flower blooming) so cute!! 🥰 x x
My cousin just had a baby called Paloma Fay, Fay being her Grandmother’s name
I love Cove 🤍 (would have been cuter before c19) xx
I really like Azriel. Its the name of one of the Archangel's. However I think due to the Dark Matters series it will forever be associated with Lord Azriel
Ah yes! I loved that series of books - thanks for adding that! x
His Dark Material's aka Golden Compass I think that what you mean 👍😘
@@kaylaclarkLove You are right. Only just noticed that I had put Dark Matters, which isnt right - I meant Dark Materials. Golden Compass would be the film version yes. The books were Northern Lights, The Subtle Knife and the Amber Spyglass. I love that series; one of my favourites. The new books are also brilliant
Azriel always makes me think of the A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J Maas
Same
Liesel is my favourite, it's adorable! I love Sound of Music too!
Liesl usually has no e between the s and l. Cute name.
I love it too!! And the sound of music 😂
I know a mum that has twins named roman and rowena , which I always thought was super cool. Love your videos!
I love the name Avril so much! Been thinking of adding that one to my list recently! Think it has such a cool vibe but also pretty, and I also love Avril lavinge so I don’t mind that association!
Can you please do comic book charaters baby names. Comic books normally have the most interesting names. You could have a villain video and a hero video.
Great idea!! Love to see that too
Teal has been on my list for years! I got it from a Cbeebies programme my little brother used to watch called Abney and Teal, which are both really great names in my opinion 😊
I’ve recently fell in love with the name Souline, with the nickname of Soul. I think baby Soul for a girl is just the most beautiful name with a beautiful meaning behind it💕
That's gorgeous! x
A girl I went to school with just named her baby Soul!
Souline, Souline, Souline, Souliiiine... I'm begging of you please don't take my man 🎶
Anyone else? 😂
Soulana is another variation I love!
Baby soul? lmao
I'd never even thought of Starlet possibly having negative connotations, it makes me think of a small little star personally, it's interesting to hear how names are perceived differently by different people! You could also use Etta as a nickname because of the 'et' ending - so cute!
My first thought hearing Starlet was an alternative to Scarlett
Nevaeh seems very popular these days, there are at least three in the area around my home. We are over on the east coast of Canada though.
I really liked Tansy, probably my favourite of the day.
I must have a thing for flower names.... my daughter is called Calla (like the lily), but I love Tansy so much!!
I’ve seen Aina on the list before but would have never guessed it’s pronounced eye-nar!!! I really love it!!! I also already have Tansy on my list and other ones I love that were used 3 times are Claudie, Dasha, Fifer & Magda!!
I love Dasha, so pretty.
I’m not sure about Grey- it feels a bit sad and lifeless. Probably just my associations- I’d prefer a name that reminds me of life, colour, sunshine! ☺️ however I do have a friend with a baby girl called Finley Grey (Grey was her maiden name- which I think is a lovely way to honour family).
Yes that's really nice to pass on - totally know what you mean - I think it does go those 2 ways xx
This is one of my favorite lists. Lots of gems. Hard to pick a favorite. Maybe Liesel.
Teal!
Love it ! I also love Marisol, I feel so silly as a Spanish speaker for not picking up on the Mar-y-Sol literally meaning sea and sun! So much more beautiful to me now!
Absolutely obsessed with the name Junie 💘 Tansy is also growing on me! How cute is that illustration! I love Marisol with Sol, Solly or Sunny as a nickname, but not sure I'm cool enough to pull that off!
Oh SJ that little girl is adorable! :)
She's so cute! It's easter holidays so she was wanting me to play barbies!!! She's so cute xx
@@SJ_Strum what a blessing xx
I’ve always loved the name Romana being a Doctor Who fan! (Tom Baker & Mary Tamm were my first introduction to the Doctor/Companion partnership on the show.) Tuppence is also great & never really thought about using it, but now I’m thinking I just might someday.
Top fav on this list was Junie, I'm a real sucker for ie names 😁 I also really liked Teal as a name.
Loved this one! And Evelina is absolutely precious!! 💓
Thanks Rachel :-) Yes it's easter holidays so she couldn't wait any longer to play! Haha! x
It’s unreasonable how long it’s taken me to follow you on IG. I’ve literally watched you religiously for baby name inspiration for going on 4 years. 😅🎉
My beautiful little niece has been named Astroleena.I love it. The two words Astro, Leena, generally translate to Star Light.
Favorite: Aina!!!! Gorgeous 😍 also lots of love for Tansy & Teal. There were a lot of gems in this list!
I'm sorry i cant take the name tuppence seriously and i burst out laughing when i saw it because to me it's basically the equivalent of calling your child after a no no zone 😭😭
It sounds like topper-wear to me 😭
tuppence is a former coin, that was worth two pence hence tuppence, I've never heard it otherwise
@@karolaldana6649 you mean tupperwear? and it's an old british coin worth two pence, hence the name tuppence
to me it's almost as bad as penny, like your child isn't worth more than that
@@Cassxowary yes I meant Tupperware. Sorry English isn’t my first language. It’s funny to see how one name can have so many different associations depending on who you ask
So funny, I met a little dog yesterday called Tuppence and thought it was the sweetest name! 🥰
No way!!! We're in sync! It's very cute for a puppy too!
I’ve been thinking about baby names for baby #3 and I am in LOVE with Grey!! How cool!
Grant Asriel Edelweiss
Finley,Forrest and Gentry
Farley Liesel Rosabel
Pomona and Teal
Rachel Meaghan Bridget Fatima
Ava,Asher and Diego Sidney
Ava,Asher and Jericho Tuppence Sidney
Ava,Asher and Avril

Azriel reminds me too much of one of the guys in Sarah J Maas' court of thorns and roses books, it is very pretty tho
Azriel I believe became famous after the character named Azriel from The Court of Thorn And Roses by Sarah J Mass. And since I'm in love with the character, it has to be my favorite from this list 😂😍
The name Sultana is an Arabic name meaning ruler/queen (female version of Sultan). It is my mums name so a bit offended you think it’s ‘weird’ just because it means something different in the English language. Having said that, we do call her ‘Raisin’ to wind her up 😂😂.
Same! My sister is married to an arabic/irani man and my niece's name is Zultana (with a Z) and I find the name sooooo beautiful! When SJ said that I was like: Nooooo😫
Rosabel is super pretty Rosalie is one of my top baby names and calling her Rose and Rosie as nicknames!
I too love the name Rosalie!
I loved Tansy in particular. I have always had Grey on my list of names I liked but for a boy. I never thought of it as a girl name and I think it would make a really great middle name!
Two girls' names in my Dad's family are Leottie (lee OT ee) and Laotha (Lay OH thah). I've never heard either one outside our family. I don't know how they come up with them, but the go back generations. I thought they were really weird growing up, but I'd be happy with either one now.
So cool! I was interested so I searched the names and can’t come up with anything. The names are so unusual, what a cool family thing, I love it!
We have the name Tynce in our family, (TINE see) and I always thought it was weird, but I like it now
I have a friend who’s mother is named Tanzy and a cousin named Azriel, which I’ve always loved!
Love Tuppence. Agatha Christie vibes... sold!
I love all of these names! So pretty 😍 Avril is gorgeous
I know a girl named Sophie Dove. Dove was Sophie’s great grandmother’s name. Love it. I also love the name Tansy.
You can definitely keep repeating your daughters name over and over again 🥰😍 It just flows off your tongue like the sound of music 🎶
Oh Azriel is very pretty! It looks quite gender neutral to me.
I also really like Dove... such a beautiful name symbolising peace... I think it would be a great middle name option.
I think so - it's really unique and special x
I absolutely love Marisol such a gorgeous name that’s definitely my favourite
My favorite sound of music name is Louisa!
I love goodness I've always thought about Benevolence for a girl which has the meaning of Goodness, nickname would be Benny
There’s a Teal in my son’s class at school, I love it! Tansy is also very cute!!
There is an Agatha Christie character named Tuppence, whom I love! That was my first association :)
Wowwwww! Stunning! If I had to choose my faves out of these I would have to say Grey. I adore the full name Greya and it just looks so pretty and to me feels very classy and I think I sounds quite femanine. I also love Rosabel but I prefer Rosabelle. But. There was one name on the list that I just can’t bare (no offence anyone if you have this name). Avril! I associate this totally with old ladies but not in a pretty vintage way like Margret or Dorothy. Great video SJ! Love you so much xxx
I love the name Rosabelle too (also preferring this spelling too)
Juni B Jones is a famous children's book in the US :) i have had this on my list for years, i just love it
Omg these are my fave baby name lists!!!!
I love that too Maddy xxx
Can you do a Greys Anatomy inspired one please? Thank you xxx
In loovveee with the name tansy 🥰🥰🥰
I came across the name 'Nephelle' a few days ago and immediately thought it could be a good one for a SJ list!!
Ah thank you Caitlin - that's stunning x
It's actually spelled Nephele
Liesel was top on my list for years!!
That’s interesting you mentioned Aina meaning mirror in some languages. You are definitely right!! Aina means mirror in the Farsi/dari language ❤️
Ah! My name (Tansy) is never in videos so exciting ahah! I've never met another Tansy in my life. I'm 19 now and still use Tansy for everything except work, where I use my full name (Anastasia.)
love romana!!! also love ramona and romany i think like you said, very romantic
I absolutely love Charlotte Grey, that's beautiful. Before we found out we were having a boy, Charlotte was #1 on my girl list. I'm not usually big on nicknames, but love the nickname Lottie too. I'd love to see a boy version of this list
Charlie Grey/ Charles Grey
I think Grey/Gray would be a great alternative for middle names like Grace or Lily. It would be a cool one for a boy too. Like Thaddeus Grey. But I love the color Gray and rainy days too. Haha 😄
Hey lovely, just letting you know there was no text on the screen until Azriel x
I looove Tuppence so cute! I’ve never heard that 🤭 nickname used before but you do have to be careful about these things
me neither!! Glad I know though - ;-) x
Yessss I love unusual!!!!!! My fav I have a Solita Una .... will need something as usual next time won't it haha. I love Marisol but I fear it's to similar to Solita ... or is it matchy matchy? 🤷♀️
I find it too matchy. Maybe Mariposa?
Liesel was on the list of names we considered for our baby girl, but I just was so in love with Elora there really wasn't any other choice. Elora Lane is now nearly 2.5 months old! ❤😊
I love Elora too!
Had a church friend named Teal. Love the name; she's pretty inside and out, so that is probably why.
Aina in Finnish means 'always'. 💕 I don't like Gold, but I really like Grey.
There is a character named Tansy in the US show called “Hart of Dixie” cool to know the meaning behind it! :)
And I have considered Dove on my middle name list in the past. It’s very pretty.
Aina is so precious! I’m loving Ramona which is similar to Romana
Can't choose between Julietta and Rosabel. They're both lovely!
In Spanish the name is pronounced Hulieta if that helps. I love both too.
Oooohhhh that’s a hard one..... I love them both as well💕
I have heard of Tansy a few times in the Southern Hemisphere! Mostly middle-aged South African and Australian women ☺️
In Golden Compass, there is a character named "Lord Asriel" which is a great boy version for Azriel.
And that I love.
My eyes went 😍 when you said Junie. Husband walks in the room 5mins later. I mention it and without a heartbeat it's a 'Nah' from him. No reason. Just nah. 😂
My fiance does that too. No reason just "no" gets frustrating lol.
Junie reminds me of a beginner's chapter book series Junie B. Jones!
the name 'goodness' reminds me of a student I once taught called Marvellous.
I know someone named Starlette. She’s an older lady now. I also know an adult lady named Tansy and a man named Golden.
I read a book once and the main character was a man named Golden. I absolutely love it, but don’t think I’m brave enough to use it. Maybe as a middle name.
My cousins all have color middle names, and one is Teal!
Shannon Teal
Brianna Rose (common, I know)
Sadie Jade
Having my second baby girl and my husband and I haven’t found the perfect name. Excited to watch this one!! Older sister is Alaina Rose.
Oooooh really happy for you both! Alaina Rose is stunning x
I feel like Lydia Pearl would be really pretty with Alaina Rose 😁
Shayla sounds good as a sibling name for Alaina!
We're days away from our own Alaina being born!! Love the name!
Alainas represent!! :)
Rozlyn Aurora would be a cute name!
There is a girl at my univeristy named finola, which I though you would like because of Finley!
Ah that's really nice! I think it's Irish too x
Finley, Dove, Grey, & Liesel are my favorites✨
Our last name is Gray, and it seems to be on everyone's first names list lately lol
Love Starlet, Dove, Julietta, Finley, Teal & Tuppence
Liesl is my favorite. It is on my baby name list. Second favorite is Goldie, and it happens to be the name of my great great great grandmother.
I have Marisol on my list but also love Tansy!
