- Kinda digging these EMT v2 switches from Moyu Studio. Light pipes always do something for me in switches but this has alot more than just that going for it. They're pretty smooth with a nice clacky sound profile.

Would love to hear your thoughts on these switches! Post up in the comments below and let myself and Moyu Studio know where you stand on these. Also, don't forget to check out the IC link in the description and give you interest/feedback via the interest check form at the bottom of the post!
Note: Had some equipment malfunctions here during the closeup and am working on getting that rectified. Thanks for your patience!
I purchased this switch after watching your review. It sounds good with my ARC60(no fome). Thanks for the review.
You're very welcome. Glad the video helped. Thanks for watching!
you have lube or film them?
ou those switches sound nice, i really like them.
Those holes are on the heartbeat silent switches which i beleive makes the switch quieter? There was another guy who made a video drilling holes into switches and i think it did help make the switches quieter. Idk about these switches tho
Thanks for the insights. Probably just a cost-saving measure and used the same molds if I had to guess.
Films, you think? I opened one up to try heavier springs, and I think there's a bit of play between the top and bottom housings.
Wouldn't film these.
Didn’t the Oil Kings have the same holes to allow excess lube to escape?
Enjoying these short form reviews as well as longer ones
I can't remember exactly which switch it was. I don't think its the Oil Kings unless they changed the mold for recent revisions.
Switch reviews are inherently boring when compared to keyboards, at least to me. That said, I do like the short-form reviews of them, as they're nice and consumable and don't overstay their welcome. I'm a big fan of the longer form when it comes to a keyboard, because there's more to show and talk about.
Thank you for your insights and I agree 100%. I will be doing the sister switch video for these on Friday but unsure where I stand on switch videos overall. Not alot of substance there.
Are you serious right neow Bro?
When you have a board with foam in it, all switches will sound the same. To hear what switches really sound like, you need a board that doesn’t have foam in it so the sound consists of only the board’s design and the switch’s material/design. This sound test sounded like every other foam board with every other switch
As someone with over 30 keyboards, lots of solid weighted alu boards and plenty of foamy boards I can 100% say this is not true. Yes, a foamy board sounds like a foamy board. Yes, a no-foam board does indeed sound like it doesn't have foam in it. However, not all switches sound the same in either configuration. Not everyone can pick up on the nuances, though, and that's okay. At the end of they day this is an enthusiast's hobby and I think we can all appreciate the fact that we can mix match so many different aspects of this hobby to get our desired sound profile.
What about the people who like how foamy boards sound and are curious about how this switch will sound in a similar build? Even within the same foamed board, similarly sounding switches can have noticeably different sounds frequencies. With an experienced ear, the differences can be really clear. This is just one in what should be many different sound test configurations one should reference to properly form an educated guess as to how a switch should sound in the keyboard they plan to put them in. For people like me, who does not like the sound of boards without foam, this video is infinitely more useful for me than a video where the youtuber refuses to use foams.
That ping tho!. Is that came from the switch or the board itself? Try the force break so ping will completely gone.
Definitely coming from your imagination. There is no ping present in this video. There is the glassy sound of the PC plate on a foamy board combined with the materials of the switch but there's absolutely no ping present.
lube on the bottom of stem = terrible bottom out, you gonna waste more time trying to clean the lube than lubing a fresh switch
There was no evidence of a negative impact with use. Also, preference. I like a lubed long pole. I usually put a thin swipe on the bottom of the stem pole after my brush is dry-ish after finishing them stem sides.
I intentionally did this to some Dark Jades a while back, because I liked how it made them sound. Unfortunately, the effects didn't really last, and it only took a few hours of normal use to get the normal-sounding bottom out again. I have no idea where the lube went either, lol.
I feel like doing sound reviews in boards filled with foams isn't great. Makes a lot of switches sound similar and you don't get a very realistic sound. Compare your video to Andy's and yours sounds muffled with a bit of clack but his sounds really clacky. I know it's personal preference but it's hard for the viewer to actually hear what they actually sound like.
This was an overall showcase of the switches and not a "sound review". But I will address your concerns.
By your logic, every single content creator would need to coordinate to use the same exact keyboard model with the same plate material and keycaps in order to make sure the sound demos were uniform. In addition to this we would all have to use the same recording gear, do the same post editing, have the same equalization for the recording, have the same room acoustics, etc. I like foamy boards so I used a foamy board. Yes, foams sound foamy but weighted aluminum boards also sound like weighted aluminum boards. There is nuance in both that come from design and construction.
If you want another "sound review" other than my take on the switches you're 100% in the right to check out others' content. Andy has some solid hot takes and is definitely a good place to check if you want to hear a weighted aluminum clack meta. Lastly, I'll just add that there is quite a bit more substance in this nearly 8 min video than roughly 30 seconds of obligatory typing demonstration.
