Those 'Practice With Willie' segments are just awesome! Great teaching that goes right to the point! Perfect length: long enough to gather really good material, short enough to keep us focused! Just love it! Looking forward to the next one!
Thanks! I am doing the NO Bull Piano program right now - it’s been going well. The style segments he has - rock, country rock, swing, etc., are very well done and helpful for a noob like me. Give it a shot! Well worth it. Thanks Willie.
Thanks David! So happy you’re enjoying the course. Don’t forget to join in on the weekly coaching and ask me any music questions. I can also give you feedback on your playing or help you with what to practice. All the coaching info is right on the dashboard. Thanks again!
Is that I Real Pro backing basing what it plays on the chord names D-7 G7 that you wrote, on the notes you wrote, on midi signals from the piano about the notes you play, or on audio of the notes you play? When the music gets to intermediate or beyond - e.g. inversions, rootless voicings substitutions, alterations or more complicated progressions, how often are you satisfied / dissatisfied with the backing? Does it still work well enough to make it worth using? Like what if you played a transcription of a Bill Evans solo, right and left hand - would the bass line and rhythm that I Real Pro played make sense?
Hi Willie I'm a meber of Jazz edge ,I clicked on the sheet music link (logged in) but didn't get taken to sheet music ,do you have to join No Bull' seperately?

Yeah iRealPro does a pretty good job at backing. It's software so it is only "so" smart. for the price though, it's a no brainer.
What software do you use / recommend for capturing the notation like that when you play? Is it limited to digital keyboards or sound based?
Oops never mind. You just said Sebelius
What software do you use to write your music that you play as you go?
Looks like Sibelius to me.
