Beautiful rendition. The singer is aware of the storey behind as Hazrat Amir Khusro sang this infront of Hazrat Nizamuddin aulia who was in grief due to his nephew's demise.
He sang his nazm during the harvest of Sarson ( raag bahar) as the entire surroundings of Delhi looks yellow of the colors of sarson fields.
This has become customary to sing to harvest and known as Basant.
One can notice,she appropriately wearing yellow flowers in her wrists.

For those who don't know from where this performance has been taken: this is rather old. Taken from a television program called 'Virsa' broadcasted on Pakistan Television. This program is still alive. It is shot in walled city of Lahore. And, this program is being patronzied by Yusuf Salahuddin sahab , grandson of Allama Mohammad Iqbal - yes..
He is the white haired man sitting in white qameez, between two ladies at the back.
Obviously, looking at the visual quality, it is evident it is an old recording

I heard many different artists' rendition of this song. Each one of them exquisitely and uniquely beautiful, totally incomparable to each other. Then I came across this one today, and I do have to say, this is hands down the best version of them all. No disrespect to other artists, but this one surpasses all the other performances.

Sara is a Pakistani singer. As a child star she appeared in an Indian reality show and sang for the Virsa Heritage show in Pakistan (the latter was hosted by Yousuf Salli, the grandson of Allama Iqbal). She was such a bright kid but unfortunately she couldn't make it big 😢

its very unfortunate that such amazing singers who know classical and are brilliant in playback too have gone in shadow. I'm not against aima and momina but Sara is something I will say young noor jehan. she is the one that can carry legacy of her. ali abbas, muhammad zubair, imran ali akhtar, mulazim hussain, mussarat abbas and khurram are all great singers we have seen in different singing competitions, but they are nowhere to be seen now a days.

Sara keya kahun is classical ganay mein koi kasar nan chhori. Aap ki pyari chanchal awaj pe bahut jach raha tha yeh gana. Man kahun kay aap jaisa koi aur nahin hoga. Allah tumen dur tak lejaiy. Tum khush raho achha gaao bachaya.
