THANK YOU SO MUCH! This helped me a lot, I just started playing tenor saxophone less than a year ago, and there were still some things I didnt know. GREAT JOB!

The phrase, “They can put a man on the moon” comes to mind. Here we are in 2024, and single reed players of all experience levels still need to stress about setting up their horn with the necessary precision. I do it, but I don’t like it! 😂 It takes longer than it should and requires really good lighting, especially at my age. Good video, however, not saying anything negative about the presentation!

One of my friends mentioned tightening the bottom screw a bit tighter than the top one - What's you advice? Also, I have a leather ligature as well as a metal one, so with my new Yamaha 4C mouthpiece which I just got today, I'm going to use the leather ligature instead of the metal one.

I'm a beginner just learning to play the Alto Sax. I noticed that you show the ligature screws on the reed side and not the top of the mouthpiece. Does it matter which side of the ligature is facing up? I ask because I am currently installing mine with the screws facing up however, the ligature is gouging a slit into my plastic mouthpiece. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

It depends on your ligature! Send me a message with a picture of the ligature and I can let you know - www.saxophonemasterclass.com/contact

No offence, but I found the saxophone to be a disgusting instrument. You have to use saliva for it to work, there is the option to use water instead but who really does?
In any case the saxophone will always get saliva in the reed, the mouth piece and everywhere inside.

Saying no offense doesn't make what you're saying not offensive...
