What a fun colllab! It’s also so fun to see them develop this song as an extended jam. The trombone solo is so fitting. They have such awareness as an 11 piece band. Their collective dynamics are so tight it’s easy to forget how hard it is to be that fluid as a large band. I’m just constantly blown away, especially after seeing them 3 times over 6 years. They, somehow, just keep getting better and tighter
Just love seeing Derek smile. What a band leader. Susan in her own right. What a band! Sorry I missed this one. Saw them there a few years back and was underwhelmed. This is something else. Thank you, ed. Those drummers. Oh my!
What a treat to hear the legacy of Rahsaan Roland Kirk kept alive. He was the very first jazz musician I ever saw live, nearly 55 years ago, and had the pleasure of seeing in a number of subsequent shows over the years. And in a bizarre series of events, Kirk's tambourine man and guiding hand, Joe Texidor, ended up being buried in our congregational cemetery. I did a double take when I passed by his stone and thought "Wait, THAT Joe Texidor?".
I love seeing this collaboration between Derek & Jerry! Love hearing Mike take the lead on vocals! Each member of the band played a very significant role! Great work in the horn section!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for capturing this. It was awesome to experience it live last night. But, seeing it again helps keep that memory alive.

Ditto on Mike's vocals. Great all around. What a treat!
That kinda gets to the best "shake my titties" phase of musicianship, love it!,

Derek & Jerry are like two little kids trying to one up each other and see if the other catches it
Great.
Joe Cocker reincarnated
Seems like Mike picked up a little from Taj.
