Summer Diesel Gala 2024
Thursday 27th & Friday 28th June 2024
The curtain up to the ELR's Summer Diesel Gala was Calss 37 37109 on the goods brake van ride set from Bury to Rawtenstall, captured from Ramsbottom sidings. The following morning the first train of the day was Class 40 40012 Aureol on the freight set, which was followed by Class 37 37425 (courtesy of HNRC) on the first passenger train of the day seen starting off from Burrs Country Park.
Also visiting from HRNC was Class 20 20066, which is seen in a train with a pair of Freightliner locomotives, Class 70 70014 and Class 47 47830 Beechings Legacy. The combination is seen on the climb up Broadfield Bank and then departing Burrs Country Park.
Please note, there is no public lineside access on the East Lancs, lineside shots are taken as a Working Member with Accredited Photographer status.
