    How long does it keep in fridge, indefinitely? Great idea. Please don't attract them if your neighbors spray lawn chemicals, pesitcides.

      Oh yeah, I live in Kentucky and about three weeks ago I put a combination of banana and apple slices out in my handcrafted butterfly feeder gourd. Should be nice and rotten for them... i will probably put some oranges in there soon

    How long does the concoction last outside, especially in the summer heat? Till it's all dried up?

    • @thenectarbar6461
      @thenectarbar6461  6 лет назад +1

      Alan Winter, it depends on hot it is. 100°+ will dry out in about 5-6 days. Unless they eat it all first.

    How long will this mixture keep when stored in the fridge?

    • @thenectarbar6461
      @thenectarbar6461  6 лет назад +3

      This will last about 2-3 months. You could also freeze it in batches too. Just make sure it is completely thawed before serving.

    So what is that 4 cups enough for 80,000 butterfly meals ? You didn’t explain why the sugar ,yeast or beer is in there ?

    You say 1 1/4 teaspoons of yeast but your recipe says 2 1/4 teaspoons. Which one is it? does it matter?

    • @thenectarbar6461
      @thenectarbar6461  5 лет назад +1

      I said it wrong in the video. The recipe is correct with the 2 1/4.

      Ants, fruit flies and all manner of critters. I’ll be first inline on account of the dark beer!

    I found that the butterflies would drowned if I made it just mush so I left the fruit whole.

      Make sure it's not too thick, and drizzle it down in some cracks in wood - don't let it puddle, because they'll get stuck.
