A good counter for catalyst is Fuse because reinforced doors get destroyed instantly by nades and knuckle clusters. As well fuse's Ult goes over the wall if you Line it up right. As well extra tip for catalyst, if you can place her ult diagonally because it starts at your position so is further back when diagonal and is good for both sides being blocked. It might also catch some players by surprise
As a Fuse main I really enjoy seeing catalyst reinforcing the doors for me just blow them away in a sec... But this map as fuse or any other non movement legend is a bit hard to get to places. And in the poi Promenades there are places where towables get bounced back from invisible walls and characters that has towables it's really bad. Lost a fight because my knuckle wouldn't pass a and empty arch and would be stuck in a invisible wall
I’m really loving Catalyst’s play style but one thing that really annoys me is the ultimate. I think you need to be able to change the way the ult is going to go. Like press it once to do it long ways and press again to make it landscape.
Another tip ive learned: The tac does NOT bounce off walls, it just limply falls, so if in close quarters on in a building or off angling someone next to a piece of collision, u can aim at the wall, tree, ledge, etc and it should just fall right below whatever piece of collision hit, getting a more consistent bit of damage off since the casting can be a bit finicky.
I don't know if this was said already but, if you throw your tactical down, you can pick it back up and use it right away as long as it was never activated.
I use to play a lot of Wattson, and I feel like she's just a better version of her that can use her kit aggressively aswell as defensively. Like her passive does what the fences do but better imo
I think veil should block all visual ques like damage taken scans, etc when view is blocked by it, but scan should still mark enemies to a the player or teammates who has clear sight of what's on the other side of the veil.

You know, I thought the SAME thing. I wished the placement of the ult was perpendicular to your direction like the tactical is. So that way it can block off or isolate enemies. But then I realized I could use it like a flash grenade. If you use it while facing an enemy, it'll go through that enemy and they won't be able to see for like 5 minutes so I think it's a lot more useful now.

The catalyst door play potential seems super fun, but the rest of the kit is mostly sub. Being able to use her tac as a dual wield ability (bang smokes and rev ballz) is very useful 1v1, but because catalyst is everywhere rn it seems less reliable. Similar to caustic drop way back in the day, but not nearly as strong as caustic dropped.
Probably gonna get patched soon, but after kicking a door as Catalyst, you can tap your passive on it to cancel the kicking animation and kick again instantly.

So I have a question merchant. Do you think catalyst helps against the dynamic/meta of scans? Unfortunately I can not see her being so due to how her ultimate does nothing to stop a seer ult which was supposed to be her biggest advantage. Which in turn would boost crypto use. Unlike the trailer.
The meta dynamic has changed, more because of the map than catalyst. It's quicker now. Movement characters are less effective for map rotation. Valkyrie has definatly been lowered in the meta. Caustic needs a buff now. Faster ult use and trap drop to make his ability more effective and rival her. He was the door locker before
When it comes to the scan counters with Catalysts ult , It’s most effective agains bloodhound. It also work with crypto and Seer. But seers ult goes around the wall so it’s not effective, and crypto can just move his drone. But Seers tactical won’t work on the wall, and will scan you instead. This is what I’ve gathered at least when testing out in the firing range

@@brycecarroll5231 a catalyst not being slowed or a caustic not being slowed doesn’t affect their team. A wattson can just stand near an enemy fence and let her entire team pass through if she was immune to the other fences. Even if they decide to make it so that she’s not damaged, she lets the entire purpose of the enemy’s fences fall because another wattson can just pass through without a care, whereas for caustic and cat, they have a certain aoe that can be avoided, which means they still block off areas.

I was playing maggie, Catalyst wall is pretty useless when i tracked (shooting) someone through the wall with the red enemy outline. (Mad Maggies passive). So are they by chance gonna fix the wall or is it suppose to be like that?
Idk if all the scans get stopped if you use them form the other side of the wall but in a lore wise sens you are tracking them because maggie is smelling their blood and i like it that way

It feels silly that catalyst is immune to other catalyst abilities. I think her tactical would be more effective if it covered a wider surface area but had 150 health instead of 300. Why does Wattson's gen, which is an ultimate, currently have less health than catalyst's tactical? Catalyst's ultimate also needs to be able to block against seer's passive and ultimate for it to be reliable. I do hope they do this at least even if it's after seer recieves his hierloom.
Realistically I think bloodhounds tactical should be canceled by her ult, cryptos drone and seers ult kinda don’t need to be canceled because one is a drone that can be repositioned and the other is a dome of nano droids
It’s weird because I’m the firing range my friend was using bloodhound and when he tried to use scans while Catalysts últ was up it would actually scan him back so I was able to see the outline

A lot of people can't play right now because of a freezing bug. Basically, 2-5 minutes into the game the screen freezes and you have to alt-tab to close the game. Doing this in ranked gives you leave penalties, so that might be why a bunch aren't playing ranked.
so i got a free heirloom today, I leveld upp and my game became glitchy But i dident think mutch of it so i went in to my locker becaus i wanted to change my wattson skin But i noticed that all of my skins and baners and everything else was missing, But i knew that it was just the game trying to load But in the Cornelia of my screen i saw the little ”equip engergy reader” So i clicked it becaus i wanted to see what happend (i dident own the heirloom befor this) and when i went i to the new game i had the heirloom I only have the heriloom not the pose or the voice-line And i cant unequip the heirloom I have restarted my game and my consol But i still have it (Sorry for bad english But i hope you understood)
Idk why people spam her tactical. They throw one trap that misses, and then immediately throw another only for it to be wasted, and not be able to use another until the cooldown finishes. It's good to always have a spare just in case, especially when you're indoors, you can fortify a door and put a trap to cover the other side while you heal or rez

I haven't personally been scanned through it but the only on I keep getting scanned is either a fuze or seer ult.

This depends, caustic obv has a gas mask and Catalyst is magic but you could say Watson's suit disperses the voltage or something of the sort

Something that I found is that if you use a spike but it doesn’t damage anyone. You can pick it back up for charge refund.

You can pick them back up just like Rampart walls, they just can't be activated by an enemy beforehand

I tried to play ranked today, in Silver. My queue times were 2-5 minutes....normally silver is 2-5 seconds. Something isn't right.

You can easily pick up the tactical so spamming is a good tool to push or defend, which is easy to almost immediately redeploy into a new position
