Seventh Lake Campsite

Lights On The Water travel to the Adirondacks to explore a Lean-to located on Seventh Lake near Inlet New York. As we get our boats loaded up in the dark and head out onto the lake we find ourselves incapable of finding the lean-to we wanted located on the map. Come to find out, the map is not correct. After 2 hours paddling in the dark and not being able to see more than 20 feet, we finally find the Lean-to on a different island.

One of my favorite lakes.
Lean-to was moved a few years ago to move it away from the campground and waterline. Also, you can paddle north of the new lean-to island, but it is too shallow for motorcraft.
Regarding the shots, may have been non-deer, but it’s very common in Adirondacks to keep shooting until the deer is down. Unlike southern zone hunting with open fields and woods where you have plenty of shooting lanes and time for first and possibly follow up shots, you only have a few moments to acquire and shoot. No one wants a wounded deer to get away and suffer, so shoot until it’s down.

Definitely made for an interesting paddle with having the lean-to on the other island. It was extremely dark that night, probably shouldn't have been out on the water. The shooting was duck hunters. We got to talk to them after we had our vehicles loaded back up. They didn't end up getting anything. It was a fun and relaxing trip when all said and done. Thanks for watching.
