r-type was insane. I was lucky to live next to neighbors who were into beta tapes and turbo grfx 16 otherwise I would have never known about it until many years later

Dude, I really love the whole concept of this show. Following the release of games chronologically and including pretty much ALL of them... is it wrong that I could just sit and watch these one after another for hours? So glad to see other systems as well.
I just wanted to say, this encyclopedic approach to gaming history is awesome. This series is going to become a "must" reference for future retro gamers. Pretty epic. Great job!
No mention of the triple fighter in Galaga 90? But on the other hand, I can't believe I always shot the dancers and never knew about the Secret Bonus, ha! I recently discovered your Chron- series after hearing mention on Retronauts. What a great vid! Looking forward to watching your others!
You claim there'd be up to 400-something colors yet the games you show display 20-ish colors on screen at best. From what I know the PCE can only display 32 colors on screen just like the Master System, although with a bigger global palette and more importantly: less restrictions on shared colors on individual palettes.
Dammit, you missed that key jump in the wonder boy version and now in this one?? I'm sorry I cringed a little :p I miss it all the time too tho, s cool Also, maybe you do not know this, but there is a trick in wonder boy in monster land, where you can greatly increase the amounts of gold you get from hidden gold. What you do is, you fire off a special weapon before you jump and then "wiggle" left to right really fast as you jump to the gold, somehow this gives you 6 times the gold you'd otherwise get. It's hard to beat the game without that, I think.

You picked the perfect background transition music! Cross a Fear is my favorite track from Dracula X
Someone told me about these episodes. I'm hooked 20 seconds in. I need to watch all of these!

You, my man, deserve way more views
I second that!

Great little back story at the beginning. Can't wait to watch more episodes!
Thanks for the video!
So awesome, your Chron series is the best shit on youtube by a wide margin. Shit is like PBS in the 80's, legendary.
Man, I had to wait until 2015 for someone to tell me JJ & Jeff was not a bad game! :-/
The fact that this only has this many view is criminal. CRIMINAL!!!! Liked. SUBBED!
thanks for sharing Chrontendo
I love the new intro music
nice, but what I'm really waiting for is super chrontendo... eventually
In 2075!
Ken Shimura died this year of Covid-19 unfortunately... Cha Kato is the only one left from the original duo now.
Yo! Her name really is Satan Maria

You should do ChronGeo and review neo geo games
Didn't know Namco was doing that scummy repackaging of old sports games into new ones with no changes thing way before EA started it xD.
