One thing that perspective buyers might want to watch is that there clearly appears to be an early version of the beatbuddy pedal from 2014 and somewhere in the last few years an updated version. If you look at the applied logo Beatbuddy itself, the older version has the word Beatbuddy in a "fade out" sorta font. And the Singular logo on the black portion of the pedal is different as well. The newer version has a different look to it. I'm pretty certain I don't have this old vs new version reversed. Just as the original Beatbuddy footswitch had a fade out logo on it that matches the original version of the Beatbuddy. The second version of the optional footswitch dropped the Beatbuddy logo and replaced it with Singular sound and below that Footswitch. I read different switches were installed. The 3rd and latest version is marked with Footswitch+ and again different switches were introduced that were more ergonomic for playing without shoes. I'm not yet sure what improvements the earlier Beatbuddy itself received but its not really posted anywhere. At least I haven't stumbled upon yet. Im going to have to research on the Beatbuddy forum for an answer but just as the optional footswitch is in its 3rd revision I'm sure Singular made some changes to the pedal itself. Just something to consider if you plan to spend $299 on a new pedal or buy one used.
Thanks for the comment, David. The BeatBuddy has chanced its appearance (logos) but it's still the same unit as the early version and the functionally is the same. The latest firmware update allows the BeatBuddy to work seamlessly with our newest products (Aeros & MIDI Maestro). Also, this new update allows you to go from haft time and double time using the Footswitch.
Thanks for the clarification. I looked all over the internet trying to find some information on the older vs newer styled pedal. It's good to know both pedals function the same. I just orfered a Beatbuddy and a Footswitch + yesterday and really looking forward to start working with it.
Awesome, Bass Playing - made me think of seeing Pat Metheny in Atlanta, 3 different times!! Sweet Guitar Riffing, a bit of Los Lonely Boys in that Sweet Strat Tone!!! This High on my List of Pedals!!!
02:24 -- Newly adjusted mixes and levels is encouraging. The original had significant variations in output levels that created issues for live performance. Have those been standardized?
This update is for the BB not Mini2. The Rock and Metal grooves on the BB sound amazing. Also, with the regular BB you have the ability to change the "drum sounds" on any genre and synced additional pedals via MIDI (e.g. loopers and effects). Feel free to email us at support@singularsound.com for any additional questions. :)
During firmware update I got a power out, now Beatbuddy screen won’t turn on can I fix this or have I bricked my £380 Beatbuddy? I noticed,There is an internal green lcd light inside the unit when plugged in. Any expert help out there?

Hi, I wanna ask a question: if I buy the latest BeatBuddy now in July 2021 for my artist, is he going to get the latest update already inside?? since it's really much better than the former sounds.
Does this help with the pedal not being too loud , I just get this pedal and put it on my board And it's extremely loud at 4 volume, Like is not loud at all And then there's a huge volume spike To make the impractical to use is almost like the volume calibrate is broken Someone please help or will the update fix this

The BeatBuddy plays MIDI files samples. This way the pedal allows you to change the tempo and drum sounds. Feel free to email us at support@singularsound.com for any further questions.
I've recorded whole songs with my beatbuddy into my DigiTech looper the stereo looper. Then I pulled out the SD card and put it in my computer as a WAV file is that what you're asking or does that help?
Sooo, the Mini 2 library is not the same as the BB anymore because the BB got an update? Might have to stop selling the Mini 2 saying it has the same songs/beats then?
I know you posted this a year ago, but having just purchased both a Mini II and a full version Beat Buddy, I'm now seeing the differences in default library content. It makes it appear there is "less" default content on the full version BB, than the Mini II. Did you get any light shed on this?
We recommend to use a mixer in order to send a balanced volume mix (drums & guitar, bass, etc) in your monitors (monitors or headphones) to have while performing live.
IThat sounds good. Since I have created many OPB songs, I would like to test the whole thing first before I eventually change everything. Can someone tell me if it is possible to do this update without losing all my settings in Beatbuddy? I would just take a new SD card and do the update. In order to be able to compare I will change then only the SD-Card. Is that possible?
You can always back up your previous library in a different location in you computer and access the old content. Here's the link with all the easy steps you need to follow: library.mybeatbuddy.com/news/beatbuddy-default-content-major-update/
Love the BeatBuddy, but I'd like to see an update that makes it easier to use a MIDI foot controller to trigger transitions and beats. None of the MIDI pedals can send a CC-113 Value on press and then a 0 Value on release. Could you make that adjustable in the MIDI controls within the pedal, so we could set it to use MIDI "note-on" and "note-off" commands to trigger transitions?
@@SingularSoundOfficial Looking forward to receiving my looper, going to be next level, need to purchase some patch cables, from what I have read you put the looper last in the daisy chain? @@rmarlin Hey man, percussive, not concussive! ha. But back to topic, just like most things musical that chaining is their recommendation. I have my beatbuddy after my effects and before my Loopers. So the Loopers are basically like tape decks. I'll put the first looper on Auto record, and start the chords and drum beats with fills and transitions. I stop the beatbuddy, with no outro fill and start a looper at the same time, while changing to a bass patch and laying down a bass line, which I have in my multi-effects all grouped together so I'll have a bass, usually in between a clean rhythm and whatever lead tone, or the same with spatial guitar and some lead tone along with some maybe keyboard Leslie patch or something. The second looper is just there to sample a chorus or whatever after everything is done, should I want to just solo until people start to throw up........money! Of course you can run a distortion box or delay pedals, or whatever after the drum machine just to make it interesting and subdivide the beats, or?. Really the way they recommend to use it makes no sense to me at all but maybe they're suggesting midi capability with a midi looper which I don't have. I have a DigiTech jamman stereo and a Nu_X, and I don't think either is capable of midi sync, although I caught a football square on the nose in second grade and was left with my concussion to sleep in the nurses for 4 hours, so it may be a miracle that I could put one foot in front of the other
BB Leaders: what are the chances of a Beat Buddy Studio? No R&D needed: just move the 'lectronix into a desktop friendly form factor. Make the pedal switch (and aux switches) pads, break out the MIDI to separate jacks, and you'd have a killer desktop drum machine. I'm betting there are enough of us out there in home studio land that would love not to be working with a foot pedal.
Hi, i'm from Scotland, and play the electronic bagpipes - in your 'Marching beats, i dont hear any big bass drum found in pipe bands . . i think that would be a great addition.to the sound.

@@SingularSoundOfficial Thank you, the best thing that you are actually listening... and then I would like to ask one more thing, actually 2. 1, I was listening the trio demo and there are more random fill in the loops, like every 4th end has an extra fill just to have a feeling like a real drummer without any extra touch, I think it is cool. 2 the second thing is I just wish it had an option like the up and down key to work as double or half tempo set. So just immediately during play hit up and it doubles the tempo of course not like everything doubles just with reason like a real drummer would play fast pace or down key half the tempo like a chill part in the song... what do you think? I dont have mine yet it is in transit but I intend to use it for synth and it would sit next to the synth so I could handle it and could definitely use extra options like this for live jam. Mahalo boys!
As to your second and third questions: The BeatBuddy performs a fill every time you tap it once while it is playing back. There are several fills for each rhythm. Holding down will put you into transition mode into the following part on the BeatBuddy, this can act as a type of fill as well! Also, the BeatBuddy can be connected to out MIDI Maestro Foot Controller, and the Maestro has specific commands like double time, half time, tap tempo, and others built in, giving you further control of the BeatBuddy with just your feet. We are currently working on the app that work with the MIDI Maestro, and you will be able to customize what the MIDI Maestro's buttons do!
Great to see the updates, but the process is too complicated and non intuitive for someone who has custom beats / drumset names. Another thing IMHO the Standard V.2 snare sounds worse than the original.
