Bravo! You'd never know that set started out as a 70's plastic fake nightmare. Good use of the texture in the middle of the drawers. It seems anymore, adding legs to these monstrosities during the make over brings it up to date. Who'd a thunk? The other nice thing about this furniture redo is it ended up being one of a kind, (not a factory mass produced set). 10 out of 10 on this one.
Awe Doc you’re the best 🥹 thank you. I was toward the end of the makeover and was just sitting staring at it bc there was something about them I wasn’t sure of and decided the middle parts need more cream…that fixed it 🤣 These 70s pieces are my favourite to fix up for sure ☺️
They turned out better than I thought they could. I never would have thought to just simply remove those things on the drawers. I'm sure I haven't even bothered to look at pieces like that. Thanks for being brave with these , it really opened up tons of ideas for me. I really love the stained base it gave them " that little something extra" .⭐⭐❤️✨
I can't believe those appliques were real wood, I've only ever seen them plastic. What a super transformation, Sarah! Love the new base you constructed, the colors, the faux! Night and day difference and just lovely!
I know! I thought the same thing 😮🫤 I kept them 🤣 you never know they may have a second life as something else 🤣 I had a great teacher for the faux 😉 and now I’m addicted
You are such sweet lady and I hope you know you're loved very much by us all. As usual, you did an amazing job on these nightstands and dresser. I really like the colours and those sharp tapered legs are perfect. Thanks for another great video Sarah. Enjoy the rest of your weekend/week. Hugs, XO
Ah JoAnn seriously so grateful to have “met” you all thru this medium. So grateful for the connection. I’m happy you liked this one as well! Hope you have a fab week and look forward to chatting next week 😊
The nightstands look wonderful! They went from dated and dark, to light and modern and would fit in so many homes. I love the 70’s, 80’s furniture. It’s unapologetically clunky and chunky, with massive, crazy hardware, and it’s just over the top fun. That era of furniture doesn’t get enough love. A furniture painter can do anything with it! They’re perfect pieces for boho funky colors with lacquered finishes to farmhouse simplistic because the heavy molding creates so much interest. While I will never understand the trend of painting MCM, painting this era of furniture makes absolute sense and I’m so here for it!
Ahhh Angela it was like you were reading my mind 😳😆 I feel the same way about 70s furniture. It is my most favorite pieces to paint. 💯 here for it too 🥰
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE what you did with the Drawers!!!! They look like they have Material in the Center. Have to remember that one!!!! Thanks Sarah; BANG UP JOB AS USUAL!!!!
Oh they are incredible. Love everything about them. Love textured inserts on drawers. Just beautiful. But what I love most is you using that jig! And the saws. And your skills with a tool.. Girl, you are your fathers daughter. I wish I lived closer, I'd come buy them tomorrow. ❤
Ahhh Gail what I love most is that all the things he taught me are your fave! Mine too! Not being geographically close but doing something that makes me think about him and what he taught me is just the best! Xx
That turned out so pretty! Sarah I just love watching you! You are so funny and talented and sweet! I'm a caregiver for my husband who has Alzheimer's. My days are often stressful and depressing but you always make me feel good and smile! Thank you so much!
Sarah, your videos always put the biggest smile on my face! Your talent is top notch, but it's your personality that I enjoy the most. When you were doing the linen look with the larger brush I was thinking "I wonder if she will cut it in half to make it easier?" Then out comes the dollar tree hair teaser brush and I cracked up!! I love your ingenuity. Well another fabulous high end look. Well done!
Hahahaha thank you…yeah who knew teasing brushes would make a come back as a paint texture brush 🤣🤣 Seriously blown away by your kind words thank you 😊 ✅ day made 🥰
@@VintageAndPainted I especially like the music that was the at the beginning. Then I did notice a change so I assume that the first part was your hubby, lucky you
SO BEAUTIFUL AND INTERESTING AND HIGH END!!! You transformed these awful pieces into MODERN AND ELEGANT! The textured drawers are amazing... they look like fabric! The color of the stain and the bases are awesome! I love them! Thanks again for sharing all your tips!
We also call it the cone of shame! Loved the paint effect and watching your process. I'm glad it's not just me that changes direction half way through a project.
Ahaha that’s awesome! She just looks so sad when she’s wearing it almost like she’s shamed to have it on her head 🤣 Oh my goodness Annemarie sometimes I worry I changed direction too much but honestly that’s the reality of making over furniture. Sometimes I have a plan and the outcome is completely different to what I started with🤣
Wow! Those nightstands really took on a new life. It is always a pleasure watching your videos, because you take us along through your process. Thank you once again for a learning adventure.
I love your humour and your whole take on life. Thank you for some much needed smiles! I live in Scotland, where the weather has gone completely bonkers - 42 degrees centigrade! Have been on a two day trip to Edinburgh to visit my daughter and bumped into so many Aussies looking confused at our weird Scottish weather. A delightful summer would be at most 27c!! Not a happy pale Scottish person right now, but you still manage to make me chuckle, so thanks 👍🏻🌈👩🎨🖌🎨🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🥴🫠
Woah Anita!!! 42 🥵😬 in Scotland 😳 that sounds like an Aussie summer. This crazy heat scares me. Im so happy your enjoying the videos that makes my day, it really does thank you 🥰

Hey Sarah pieces look great, I do enjoy the process of trouble shooting and your authentic reactions to things that work and sometimes don't, it is a refreshing change. would have liked to seen that purple. Well done

I reckon I can understand why some people wonder why we don't just burn these old things🤣. But, a little bit of effort, and the outcome....simply beautiful. I love the little droppers, they were made for the piece. I noticed the dresser in the background it looks gorgeous too. I don't think I'll ever get the kreg jig.
