The context of this video is educational & to show you recommended ways to improve download speeds over WiFi on the Playstation 4! Results cannot be guaranteed but I do my best to show you what I recommend given my knowledge!

Pro Tip: If you live in a big household you might just want to look into a DHCP router with access points. This requires a complex network configuration but it can be done

Hey buddy, wanted to ask, I recently increased our Bandwidth through our ISP. We upgraded to about 470mbps download and about 25 upload. On my ps4 test I'll get 100 to 260 down but I'm still only getting an average of about 3 to 6mbps upload speed. What's the bottle neck? The 470 and 25 mbps is what we get on a speed test of the modem provided by Spectrum. So on our router what should I set the speeds too? 50%-70% of the 470 and 25mbps? Thanks for your help in advance.
The bottlneck is PSN itself and the limitations of the PS4s hardware. All the speed tests and handled through PSN and are not local like Ookla SpeedTest
Hmmm, I thought I had seen in one of your vids doing a speed test and getting like 100-200 upload speed.
It's all over the place. I've got as high as like 600Mbps and as low as 1Mbps just depending on how PSN is feeling. There is no secret. Some people have recommended using a VPN to bypass PSN and have got better speeds. I personally have no experience with one and would not recommend a VPN for real time gaming, however I could see how it would benefit for downloads, bandwidth etc. My best advice is just using a wired connection and have a good router. As long as everything is good on your end, the rest is PSN's fault

Thanks for the tips. Unfortunately my mobile is faster than my home internet and it doesn't drop out. It is 5g and its nat type2 im looking to change providers but this video helps. Thank you for sharing :)
In my case if someone watches television the time dubles
i have at&t fiber network and i get download speed is like around 4-6 mbps
upload speed is like 700-800 kbps and i use ethernet cable
I literally get 3-9mbps..

Do you recommend Port forwarding or upnp? I know their both kind of the same thing, but which one do you do or have had better experience with?
Port forwarding is going to be more reliable and accurate. UpNp is an express port forwarding that works and it's the easiest but it's not as good as manual port forwarding. Most people will be fine with just UpNp unless their network setup is very complex
The Meister QOS and port forwarding can be used together just fine

Hey I have xfinity, so if I buy the router in the description do I just plug it in or is it a setup in the box,also do I have to pay monthly after I set everything up if this make sense lol
iiitakenotesiii - you usually have to set up your gateway into bridge mode. I'm not sure how to do that on xfinity but there's plenty of tutorials

I want to use wired connection however my router is downstairs and my PS4 is upstairs in my room, only thing I can think of is getting a Wi-fi extender with a Ethernet port then using that but what do you reckon ?

I️ remember when I️ used to watch these types of video, it’s so cool remembering back lagging out of parties if I️t was 2 or more. I️ would get 10mb down and 60kb up. Now I️ get 200mbps down and 9.7 up on my PS4

Same for me, I was playing with Wi Fi, I had over 800 ms 60 kbps Down and 4 kbps up. I switched to LAN cat7 and now always under 10 ms, 230mbps Down and 7mbps up. It was the happiest day of my life

My sons ps4 his connection speed down is 57.4 mbps and connection speed upload is 85.9 kbps and his NAT TYPE SAYS TYPE 3 my other sons NET TYPE SAYS TYPE 2 his connections speeds are about the same.. I don't understand anything about routers and modems I watch movies on apps on my roku and I have issue's sometimes with my wifi. I called spectrum and they tell me my wifi and that is fine. If it's so fine why do I lose connection sometimes and I have to reset their box.. I have a router but no nothing about it. I set it up and at first it worked good now I have to turn it off then back on again.. I paid over $80 for it it's a netgear nighthawk. I thought if I got that I could be like 20 or more feet away from it and be fine. My 2 boys are only in the same room with the modem and router. I just need someone to tell me why my wifi is so slow. My mom just moved in a house we bought. It's a small 1 bedroom house with a small livingroom,and bedroom as well as the kitchen and other room. She moved in after her husband died. She wanted internet and called spectrum and got it. The wifi box they give you sits below the tv in the living room and even her wifi is slow.. I don't know if spectrum gives u the slowest internet just so u can pay more for better internet. I think spectrum that bought time warner cable it's a company that rips people off.. Where I live they just started this. If you call them for any reason they charge you $5 to talk to someone if u have an issue. So I'm not paying them 5 dollars just to tell me everything is fine. When I know its not. I never had any issue or slow wifi when u had time warner cable.. Sorry this is so long. I just wanted to put this all out and hope someone might understand why my wifi is slow even my moms is and she only has her roku to watch movies off of. It's the same reason I just have wifi. Cause i can watch movies on apps i have and don't have to pay a big cable bill.. sorry for my english

In my wifi link speed it says 135 Mbps but on my ps4 is 5 Mbps or 2.4 Mbps

Either that or just use a router that only assigns IPs and put wireless access points all over your home. That's the more complex enterprise setup but it also works
I get 62 mbps and 62% strength on 5G but on 2.4 I get 12mbps and under and a 77% strength whats better

Hi I use wireless wifi with xfinity. I’m on PS4 pro and use 5 hertz but out of nowhere it’s lt disconnects from my internet and reconnects and disconnects do you know how to fix it
I had a similar problem. PS4 Slim, my phone and SMART TV switched between 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz on its own, and this is because the optical and internet service provider left me only one Wi-Fi network when connecting the optics (together they were 2.4 and 5 GHz on one) instead of two (one 2.4 GHz and the other 5 Ghz). I called the provider, gave my information and they set up 2 wi-fi networks for me over the phone in a few minutes. Everything is OK now. I have smartphones on 2.4 GHz, and the TV, Laptop and PS4 Slim on 5 GHz.

It's only my PS4 though I have 100% signal and get 9mbps ran a speed test on my phone it gets 30.3 Mbps and it was next to my PlayStation

Just connect your playstation and router to an rj-45 (ethernet cord). Its honestly your best bet.

oh meh you shouldn't have an issue getting nat type 2. Just make sure there is only one router being used in your home otherwise it will cause issues

doubtful. it's most likely your distance to the servers or P2P connections. Or having low bandwidth on your home network and your gaming traffic is not prioritized. Or when using wifi the ping is usually not very stable. there are a lot of factors
