Sounds like we both had a good weekend! Florida had more than I expected. Really fun to do some digging with a friend. He's now a subscriber of the Jazz Basement. You're becoming a local YT celebrity! The Red Garland and McCoy Tyner are both nice additions to your growing collection. Thanks again for all your "real time" assistance as I work on growing my collection. Cheers!
Great finds as always Jason! Contours is a killer album. Found an original at my local shop with the cover wrecked, but the vinyl is clean! Dippin is such an underrated Mobley session! Great ending with All Morning Long! Tough to beat that lineup!
Hey Jason, great pick ups as always! Record shows are very interesting, can either be very hit or miss, but when they hit they hit hard haha. We had one in Seattle not too long ago and also had someone recognize me, definitely an interesting feeling haha. Great pick up on the Contours! Was lucky enough to pick up an original stereo press locally last year. Love that record a lot, cheers!
Hey Trent - thanks man. Have been enjoying your channel too. That is what I hear about shows…hit or miss…but I’m going to keep checking them out. You never know! The Contours is killer! ~Jason
@@TheJazzBasement You’re welcome! Always enjoy watching your videos for the great pick ups, and thanks for checking out my channel too! But that’s good to hear, shows can definitely be a lot of fun and you can see some awesome rare things from time to time as well. Cheers man!
Hello Jason…records fairs are often a good way to find rare jazz realeases but unfortunately in my city is next impossible because doesn’t have many followers..anyway I am happy for your finds above all Red Garland….is on my want list from a long time….greetings from Sicily
Good find on The real mccoy! Check out Today and tomorrow on Impulse if you haven't. Its right up there on Tyners best in my opinion. I got an og mono recently.
Another great video man. I too have felt the dissappointment of a record show through the lens of a jazz collector. I think rare jazz is getting even more rare and that the opportunities to buy anything rare are getting fewer and fewer due to the fact that many more people are looking. Vinyl is pretty mainstream now for music lovers and Blue Note is one of the coolest old labels reissuing consistent great sessions sparking more and more interest in jazz. It's not a bad thing at all but it does make the music more difficult to find.
Well it was just one record fair. It was packed - maybe I missed something really good, who knows. Tons of people there so that’s a good thing. The more people get into vinyl the better. ~Jason
@@TheJazzBasement I think it is also very regionally specific when it comes to jazz. Some areas of the country have much more jazz LPs available than others.
@@TheJazzBasement Yeah you definitely do. I'm coming to the area for my brother's wedding later this month actually. I want to hit up HR Records but I might not have the time to get over there from the hotel. The wedding is in VA though so I'm hoping I see a random shop I can pop into if I have a few minutes free.
Great Pickups as always! This may be a dumb question but what outer sleeves do you use? The ones I use are a big flimsy and can’t hold a shine like yours. Thanks!
Thanks for the note, Ryan. I use the Ultimate Outer 5.0 from Sleeve City. They are heavy and crystal clear, the best sleeve out there. Not flimsy and don’t get cloudy like the MoFi. The inners are Diskeeper from Sleeve City, I also use the MoFi in a pinch . ~Jason
Ever more impressed with your enthusiasm and knowledge. I learn something with every new video. Thanks!
Thanks! Lots of requests for a rig rundown / system tour….I suspect you’d be interested in that. ~Jason
Killer stuff Jason. As usual. Fairs are always fun. Sometimes overwhelming and sometimes under
Thank you! Yup it was fun, no question. ~Jason

Hi Rocco - thanks for the note. The Red Garland was a great surprise and top condition. Very lucky. ~Jason
Epic that label that Sly Stone and Michael Jackson are on. (wink)
Honestly I thought it was possible. I checked my copy of Pearl Jam “Ten” for deep grooves just in case. ~Jason

I just bought an og of gene ammons boss tenor. Man, you've got to get that one if you don't have it yet.✌️
I do have that one - it’s great! ~Jason
@@TheJazzBasement I got the bergenfield silver stereo pressing. Super clean.
