San Francisco golf course has overlooked history as Chinese cemetery

Advocates are pushing to turn San Francisco's Lincoln Park golf course into a landmark that commemorates the sites earlier history as a cemetery for members of the Chinese community, immigrants and the indigent.

Dolores Park was once the site of two Jewish cemeteries, but those burials were allegedly moved to Colma in the early 1900s. However, there is supposedly a mass grave of some 5,000 American Indians on the property behind Mission Dolores, under the playground of the Catholic school there.

We need to keep intact, as much history of San Francisco as we can. The past history is what endures the charm of San Francisco to the generations of San Franciscans who were born here or came here during the early days of this city..
