  • This video will show you how to activate and use Plug and Charge. As the name suggests, Plug and Charge allows you to simply plug into an Electrify America charging station and with a valid Porsche Charging Services contract will identify your account and start the charge to your Taycan automatically. You do not need to use the My Porsche, Connect or Charging NA apps to start the charge, however you should have these as a backup in case Plug and Charge does not work. Note, that Plug and Charge is not available on MY20 Taycans.

Paul, have you heard any hopes of eventually enabling Plug & Charger for MY2020?

Unfortunately there are hardware difference that will not allow MY20 Taycans to use Plug and Charge

I guess I can hope for some future retrofit. I assume it’s some controller.

I just purchased a used 2022 Taycan and there is a Electrify America charging station right by my house, I assume I need to register the car in my name before I can start charging it? And do you know how long the free charging is included for? I believe it’s limited to 30m daily but not sure. Anyways, thanks I’m advance for your time

You need to sign up for Porsche Charging Service through the Porsche Connect Store. This gives you 30 minutes of free charging for 3 years.

    Hi,
I need help with this. I have been using plug'n charge for over 1 year. However, recently my account had a weird incident. I received an email from Porsche that my car was removed from my online account, which I did NOT do. I changed the password as it was suggested and re-entered the vehicle, re-subscribed to all my services including complimentary charging, payment information, etc and now I have ONE issue. Plug N Charge will give me an error "Payment Declined" at Electrify America. So the only way I can charge Electrify America is by using the app, to do so I have turn off "Plug N Charge" in the PCM and manually start the charge through the app.

Plug & Charge is already operational at Ionity charging stations in Germany, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Italy and the Czech Republic. Twelve more European countries will follow at the start of 2021. In the US and Canada, Plug & Charge will also be available from Electrify America and Electrify Canada at many charging points as of the start of 2021
