Nice job. You saved me so much time from contacting Porsche! It worked when I purchased the used car, but then after I was registered the settings on the car was reset and I forgot about the plug and charge option!
A must watch for new owners. Learned how to use the mobile app to activate a charging station when the plug and charge communication fails. This is buried in the app. Thank you, Mason!
We just purchased a new Taycan RWD and just found your channel, great info for “newbies”. We are just going to charge for 1st time, this was great timing finding your informative video. Thanks, and look forward to more of your great videos.
Thanks for the video. It helped me, and I keep sharing it with others who need it when plug & charge isn't working for them. Using the app to find charging sites and initiate charging is not intuitive. Good that you cover and demo the steps in the app. Also a lot of new owners are buying used 2020s and having to learn about using the app to charge at EA.
Today, when I was using the DC fast charging to charge my Taycan, the charging cannot be initiated and the lights turned red. I changed to another station, but the same problem occurred . Have you ever encountered that before?
Great question! Thank you for reaching out.. was there anyone else using the chargers? It is possible there was an issue with the specific charging set of stations. Sometimes when this happens I have Electrify America be able to start the session remotely but it is just possible those stations were down 😌
I have owned a Taycan 4S for almost a year. I find the PCM to be very lagging and a poor system. Are you interested in connecting and seeing my experience?
Hope the whisperer or a commenter can assist: I will be buying a 23 CT from a non-Porsche dealer, so seeking advice/suggestions about how to get the "invitation" mentioned in the tutorial? I've downloaded the EA app, but since I won't be picking up the car for a couple of days (and I cannot get the my.porsche app until I can actually verify ownership) any ideas about how to get the EA charging promotion for the drive home? Thanks for any help. . . (I don't think anyone at the dealership has the first clue about EVs in general or a Cross Turismo in particular, so here I am, "depending upon the kindness of strangers")
Congrats on your Taycan Cross Turismo! Love this the Turismo body! If purchasing from a non-Porsche dealer you can creat a MYPorsche login and add the vehicle to your profile. It will be ask for proof of ownership by uploading the registration. Once the verification has been complete you will be able to link the car and prompt the email. To drive home the only way is to download the electrify america app and unfrounatley would have to pay for the charging as your My porsche account will not be active that fast! Hope this response isnt too late! Enjoy your car
@@Pcarwhisperer not often but having an established charging network does bring some comfort. Also, the 3rd party charging network is very cumbersome, and unreliable.
I only recommend charging to 100% when going on longer road trips and you need the range otherwise day to day should be kept around 85% to help with battery degradation
I just picked up my Taycan last month, on the sticker it says 3 years of free charging, but I only got 1 year on my app, I called my sales he said it was reduced to 1 year nationwide, is that true?
Unfortunately there has been a significant amount of charging issues. It was said that EA was going to be doing a software update to try and fix the issue this past Monday on 12/26/ Have you tired since then?

Thank you so much glad the video helped! Congrats on your Taycan!
You just saved my life! You just don’t know!!! Thanks so much!!! Insanely informative!!!
So glad to hear! You're welcome!

You're welcome! So glad it was helpful 😊
6 hours to talk to the servers? Did you meant 6 MINUTES?
very helpful info, thank you soooooo much
Fantastic! You're welcome 👍🏼
Good information for people that have taycans so they can find charging stations
😊
Thought I heard that the new update that I have scheduled for my 2020 Taycan will allow it to then charge using Plug n Charge? Do I have that right?
What does the round button next to the charging port do?
The round button next to the charging port releases the plug from the vehicle. 👍🏼
I learned a few things. Thanks Mason
Awesome! You're welcome 👍🏼
Get video! What color is that Taycan? Ice Grey Metallic?
Thank you Joe! The color is Dolomite Silver Metallic. 👍🏼

He's not interested. This is really just an ad Porsches and I don't think he cares to talk about the negative parts of Porsche ownership.
That car costs way too much to have any problems. I’d be mad.
I'm thinking to buy a 2020 Turbo S, with new software update I still need the app or will be fully plug and play like Tesla ?
Hi Eduardo! For the a 2020 you would still need to initiate the charge via the MyPorsche App at Electrify America Stations! 👍🏼
I've now watched several of this channels videos. Why is it that my sales guy didn't explain any of this and I have to watch yt videos!
Thank you for your support Woojin! Sorry you didn't have this explained I am here to help!
One reason is that it's likely your sales guy may have never charged a Taycan at EA or any other public DC fast charging station.

Just took at look at the Porsche this past weekend and I want one really bad but the Charging process for anything but a Tesla seems annoying.
How often would you be charging at external stations?!
@@Pcarwhisperer not often but having an established charging network does bring some comfort. Also, the 3rd party charging network is very cumbersome, and unreliable.
Am I not supposed to charge to 100%?

Hi Derek, the contract will be prolonged until the 3 years are reached
I think you need to renew every year, but you do get the 3 yrs.
my porsche app and plug and charge doesn't work for the past month. and no fix from porsche or EA. horrible service

Does the 22 kw charger require 250 V input or 400 V input ?
22kw charger is for home charging. Most homes in north america only have 240V.
3:49 You mean "degrees", not "percent"
👍🏼
6 hours. What are you supposed to do?
If plug and charge does not work right away after selecting go through the app to initiate the charging session 👍🏼
Using a gas pump is a lot easier.
I am sure it will become easier with time 👍🏼
