Unbelievable. I was told this charger would be too slow, but now I understand you can swap to a 220V connection plug and you're good. You dont have to buy any of these 3rd party devices. Thank you!
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for providing a no nonsense video of what you are going to get in with a Taycan. Mine is coming in September and I wasn't sure even if it could use 120 much less the 240 plug to use. Do you have a Taycan or did you borrow it?
It sounds to me like, you DON'T even drive an EV. Otherwise you would know that 120V plug is MORE than ENOUGH for an average user given the fact that 95% of any vehicle's lifetime is spent parked somewhere. So unless you are an Uber driver, 2-5 miles per hour over ~18 hours of charging a day (home & work) will keep your battery full ALL the time! 240V is an overkill!
Why would someone who doesn't drive an EV have a Taycan charge kit? And... how do you know that the 95% of the time the car is parked it will be somewhere that has access to an electrical outlet? Most offices and car parks do not have this facility.

They gave me a 14-30p tip for some annoying reason that isn't compatible with any outlet. No luck finding converters for it.
Thank you
does anyone know if the new Macan EV comes with this charger as well?

Neat charger, but I cringed at seeing a product and its accessories being scuffed against a concrete driveway for nearly 5 minutes.
This! Jesus, man!
So this charger can take both single phase and three phase electricity, correct?
No it takes single phase 240V or 120V
3 phase is only in an industrial/commercial setting
Can I use a 220v outlet? Would that be compatible with the charging system? Not sure how that would factor in with the Nema cords
You need a 220 Volt 50 Amp outlet ie Nema 14-50 female outlet
Electrician installed a standard 4 prong dryer (a.k.a. stove) plug in my garage ($400 cnd) and good to go.
How long does it take to charge from empty to full with this mobile charger?
16 hours
Phase 2 charging hooked up to a 50 amp outlet depend on what level your battery is at 8 hours
