I have owned this yak for a few months. Loving learning to fish on the California delta. & I'm jumping the wake of speedboats out on the big river. Awesome. Love my Mako 12.
Larry Brickman where did you order it from? Im looking for a peddle yak as my first ever kayak since im a fisherman. Only doing lakes so not alot of rough water.
Such an exciting kayak to hit the market. Can't wait to get one! I love the hull design...great for surf with that high freeboard bow shape (reminds me of Panga boat hulls which are highly efficient).
I have one love it but we're the peddle motor goes it's all cracked all they way through were can I get the plastic welding rods to repairs it only 2 years old??? Please help. Thanks kevin!!
Is this the Rush (lime/black color)? And have they made any changes to the 2019 model? Especially such as making the hull (firmer) and or deck (to handle that deck flex seen in the 12') with a thicker more long term durable material?
I would spring for this or the ten if either of them had a transducer mount in the hull ..... instead that silly little add on is going to cost me between $600-$800 more in buying the Pescador pilot 12..........
Hi Tyler, On the Mako 10 there is not much flex as the Mako 12 but its still not extreme. The Flex is due to the plastic not being so thick as other brands which makes it a lighter kayak. We have not had any complaints from our customers so far they all love it. -OPS
Would love to see an actual Rio Mako owner do a review and not a staffer. Sorry but from what I’ve seen from other Mako owners their reviews differ from this review I’ll just leave it at that and say would love to see actual owners comment on their Mako’s.

Seng Chang Amazon has it for sale.
the pedal drive is supposed to float, but at the end of the video you can see it under the water and bubbling
Yeah the peddle drive sunk.
The pedal drive are supposed to fill up with water. For lubrication and cooling. There is a little rubber drain plugg on the top.

Outstanding for the price biggest selling point for me is I can lift it over my head and put on the top of the car without wheels.
Seriously man. Somehow my crappy sit in kayak from field and stream weighs 65 pounds so this Mako should be no problemo

Haven’t been able to find one of these kayaks for sale in over six months
How much is the actual weight of the kayak? Will they consider a hull transducer in future concepts?
Thank you for a helpful demo.

The stability test doesn't prove that it will not turn over, in most cases; it just happens - a wave or catching an unexpected large/strong fish.
So can I trust this kayak is open ocean with the seas at a 2-4'?
Are their any online dealers is the USA?
I am in S. Houston and can not find a dealer
any dealers in texas?

Hey buddy your drive already sunk.
Hows the plastic? Like when you stand is there any flex?

Thanks for vid. Ill be getting a Titan 12. That Mako don't look very stable.
Get a wind sock
I would like a kayak that allows me to stand without having wet feet. This doesn't look like it.
Wind noise is really annoying
12 feet is too small and it's when you start loading all the gear that it weights a ton.
