Girl, you def went to the upmarket area yes you do get space but usually very expensive plus I like that you recorded the roads, pool etc so that those who think we live in the bushes can see we're actually civilized 🙈🙈 trust me I've seen some clueless ignorant people out here in these internet streets
Can't blame them for what the media only choose to show though. So as you say this is a nice video to educate them that their are beautiful homes and apartment buildings in Africa.
Okay, I love this video! I am so impressed by the apartments shown. In America, we’ve been influenced to think Africa is so primitive. Truth is, Africa is modern and contemporary just like us! I’ve never been international (working towards that goal), and watching videos like this helps educate me on what else is out there. The world is so big and beautiful with so much to see! :-)
Africa is very various. Rich people can afford live western world lifestyle. To be honest I think that it is only small percent of people can afford it. Many poor people live in traditional african huts. But I like this huts. It is quite good insulated and there are good conditions inside even without air conditioning.
@@thomaskucera2052 you do realize that Africa is naturally air conditioned by God ..where are you from? It's just afew tribal people who live in huts who have refused to give up their traditional way of life which is good...not because they can't afford mansions..a person with 1000 cows and 100 acres of land is wealthy anywhere in the world.
Great apartments! numbers 3 and 4 were the best looking. I swear by 2040 the whole continent of Africa will be booming. Especially Nigeria, Kenya and Ghana. Because more and more Black Americans and people from the Carribean are moving to Africa. Those apartments look better than my small one bedroom here in the suburbs of Detroit, MI LOL.
And that is the more reason the European and America government are trying to destroy Africa continent bcos they know that soon or later Africa will be great again
Apt #3 is nice but the mosquitoes at sunset time is crazy there. A friend use to live there. I also did airbnb once there. No matter where you move look into getting screens or netting on Windows and balcony doors. Greetings from Mombasa
Sweetheart you should try out kiambu road. They have modern stand alone houses with own compounds . It’s more affordable than renting an apartment and plus it’s next to the city centre and all the fancy places. This is coming from a person that has compared different houses in Nairobi. If that’s not what you like , I have seen better ones than the ones you have just toured. Don’t make a decision yet. Take a look around even in kileleshwa which is next to Lavington ,westlands and kilimani
The thing I love about houses in Africa is that they have very spacious rooms even for just the average home. Abroad homes are so compacted and tiny! You need to have a certain amount of money to enjoy a spacious home
My former apartment was tiny because it was in an urban metropolitan area and was what our budget could allow but there are very spacious homes in the US - just depends on the area and your budget
They are all nice. I loved the ones with some greenery and I advise that you go for a place with fewer units. Not as noisy. Also when renting I look for nice but practical value, not so much of the newish shiny stuff. That avoids very high rent. Oh and it's a tenant market right now. Welcome to Nairobi.
Hahahahaha! You should have seen me scream YES!!! at the sight of the bathtub in apartment no. 3! I fell in love with the parquet floors then there was a bathtub too! Good luck and congratulations!!!
Yesss I want to move to there one day so thank you for showing us what’s out there. Keep them coming. Looking forward to seeing more of Nairobi.. things to do and day in the life stuff
Apartment 1: 👍🏾👍🏾 Apartment 2 👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾 Apartment 3: is the best compromise. Up to date cabinetry color . More greenery👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Karen and Laington has good houses. If you can afford live in a great neighbourhood with good security .Why move out of town to Syokimau and whatnots?I miss kenya so much nothing like home, huge houses with everything how blessed we are. Thanks for sharing.
Interesting to see fully furnished apartments. I like the layout of #1, but the decor seems a bit dated - 70ish, but could be easily offset with your furniture & decorations, nice pool fitness center though. #3 has definitely got a more modern style & great window visibility. Jacuzzi tubs are challenging to keep clean, but it can be done. But that kitchen in #4 says yeah. Hard to judge from video because you really need to fully sense the space. Happy shopping! Fun & memorable times though.
Three hAs nice green views 💜 but iiits massiv 4 is good but toooo big omg 😯 i think 3 wins for me since am a mom i would go for 3. but of cuz i don’t know the price and other pros n cons transportation and such 👌👌 this was a nice 👍 Video🙏
Very nice choices there. I love the variety and the views were very nice on some. I live for a nice tub also and a big closet. I saw that closet space waa very minimal. TFS
Apartment #3 has both your preferences. For #4 that open field next to it in a very short while will block your view. You can be sure someone will come and put up a very tall building right next to your apartments.
It is good to find your channel and to know I am familiar with your hubby. Great contents you have. Listening to your PhD story brought me to subscribe and to learn more. Good job!
Great video, but it would be better if you show us which one you picked in the video or at least some tid bits about how choosing and purchasing apartments in work in Kenya
Next time could you please give cost of the ones you looked at for a better insight on what we will be able to afford also? Just seeing the homes was nice but i still dont know if i can afford it or not.
It seem s a little intimidating to me. Every time I observe videos of this nature I notice a lot of bars on the windows and walls with barbed wires, whats up with that? is it safe?
Common safety measures I’ve seen both in Nairobi and in Nigeria. Apartments here tend to be in gated communities unlike in the US when they’re just on the street, so the barbed wire fences protect the gated estates. In the US most housing security is in the form of door alarms - this is just a different kind of security
🤗 Thanks for sharing your experience with us because Kenya is somewhere I've never been before so it's cool getting a glimpse at what's going on with some of the locations in Kenya
It depends where in the US - rents are so different in different cities & states. The apts we looked at were in a similar range as our jersey city apartment
Apartments in Kenya are ok... nothing special no matter how much money you have. The finish out is always poor. The closets are non existent. Instead they have drawers that barely fit your clothes. Bathroom don’t have countertops either. Whereby in the US you get Everything you want.
I'm going to go ahead and comment before watching all the video. I stopped midway of the video to say I just love it. The apartment looks really nice, spacious and lovely environment to bring bundle of joy home. I don't understand the dislikes but I like it and I hit the thumbs 👍 before watching Ijeoma videos.

You said internet streets. 😂😂😂😂

Those people are willfully clueless. In the days of the internet, there is no reason anyone has to solely take the opinion of the media.🤦♀️

Do someone know what percent of average Kenyan income does it cost?

Have you tried suburbs along kiambu road? Houses are customized, not far from city centre and Jonathan gets his grass🤷🏾♀️
new subbie here🙌🏾
I love the first one, but the third one seems more homey!!!! The kitchen in apartment 4 is everything!
Definitely number 3! It checked off everything on your wish list and it felt like home 🤗

Wow, I really enjoyed this. Can’t wait
To see what you choose and especially how you decorate.
apartment 3 and 4 are the best... nice floor finishing, a balcony that's neat and there is greenery around your yard...
overgrown unkempt backyard tho

Moving back home in 2020, so I love and appreciate this type of content. You're such a cute couple! Best of luck.
Apartment 3 with the open kitchen is great for entertainment. If you like hosting, it would work well.
Apartment 2 though🙄

You should come see the houses in Umoja.. You'll be blown away!
😂😂😂😂😂

Apt 3 best for me. Good lighting and functional space
Apartment 3!!! All that greenery in the backyard makes it even more homey!
Yay!! She'll be my neighbor if she move here
Apartment 3 ticked both your boxes!!! Apt 4 comes in second...not here to comment on the rest though lol

You must not have visited Texas...super spacious homes compared to everywhere else
@@ladysafari01 no I havent. Maybe it's a special case while generally my assumption applies?
