Superb movie all actors are good , love the chemistry of Elizabeth and franz.
Beautiful edit - sound & vision! I think I might like the series even more with dialogue in German, with subtitles, like here...some might disagree that the language is very lovely! It took some time for me to get round to that attitude, & now I’m just beginning to study German for a better understanding!
All the same, it is very well-dubbed

"Show" it definitely was. The relationship between Sisi and Franz cooled down in the first years of their marriage. But it improved again when she was traveling. I love reading their correspondence in the new book "Under the Spell of a Myth".
They had a decent relationship before she started traveling the world, she only began traveling the world until later on in her life. You should also read “the reluctant empress” by Bridget hamman. It’s more a lot detailed about their lives.
@@Recartloaded sorry but it wasnt decent. Even in later years Sisi complained to her ladies and readers about the horror of getting married so young and about her mother-in-law. Hamann mentions that as well.
@@markaden5452 i said it was decent before she started traveling and before she went to Madeira or corfu not within their entire marriage as a whole, they had a very complex relationship in general and Elisabeth’ s main problem was her mother in law. And even when she did start traveling it didn’t “cool down”. And when she got older she would mainly complain about her mother in law and countess Esterhazy(Sophie’s friend)
@@markaden5452there’s a difference between the state of the relationship between Franz & Sisi or her problems with the mother-in-law though. Just because she hated what came with marriage does not mean she hated him.

LOVE THIS SHOW
I watched "Sisi" and now "The Empress", I love this version of Franz Joseph more than in "Sisi". Do not get me wrong, both are marvelous and incredibly handsome but for some reason I prefer this one. And with Elisabeth I prefer the one is in "Sisi". She gives me those vibes of young Elisabeth of Baviera loving horses and animals and just running around until she married him.
But undoubtedly these shows are amazing 👏 😍 🙌

They need to change to actually be a genuine couple...The idea of them was GREAT, love how he saw her as a similar soul and she made him think about how he was like before the responsiblity of being Emperor. I Respected them, but then DAMN...Why were they both acting unfairhful and flirtscious with others. She willingly kissed with his brother and was flirty with him...And HE kissed the countess from before and was being flirty. They aren't CONSISTENT with their feelings for eachother!?...So Frustrating. Hopefully they can become something Better, we'll see in thd next season🤷🏼♀️

The story of their entire family is sad. From franz and sisi to their only son.
I know Prince Rudolf commited suicide but why else was there life hard? I know he faced a lot of losses hence Elisabeth assassinated and shit but what else that is sad?

From what ive seen this couple is very interesting dynamic. I dont know the facts or reality of it but the performance was great from both actors and cast. I think hans is conflicted and wanting to do the right thing by his people but has yet to be a leader to his people and he is allowing this stress to destroy what is a beautiful relationship. I hope they see it through because they have a lovely dynamic. And the best couples on screen are ones who fight and struggle but serve as an aid to each other in times of peril. ❤❤❤ lovely portrayal

Nonsense she behave like a wild animal.... i understand you need fresh eyes to look at the world but there is way to do it... people like her because she is rebellious and represents feminism... they are good for each other, they can learn from each other if the both have humility. People forget she kissed his brother and keeps flirting with him although he wants to dethrone him.
