The best Franz and Sisi for me, truly the chemistry of these two on screen is electrifying. Jannicke Schumann is so talented. He has this way of communicating his thoughts and emotions in a scene just by the look in his eyes. He's a marvellous actor.
I know there are many historical anachronisms and inaccuracies... and I don't care. I love this adaptation, and this edit of yours is absolutely amazing!
They had their first serious crisis already when she was 24. The new book "Under the Spell of a Myth" mentions her many young teachers who fell in love with her. A fabulous read!
Their relationship is romanticised in almost every adaption and there probably should be something more real, so the real story won’t be lost but I think as long as you know that life is not that perfect and their life wasn’t either, it’s okay.. I enjoy stories about sissi and her with Franz and I know it was not like that but sometimes I love to just lose myself in a romanticised version of the 18th and 19th century. It’s okay because I know it’s not real.
I love this actor. But the real life couple weren't as happy as them. Especially sissi. She wasn't quite emotionally attached to him. And she was quite miserable. And her kids were taken away from her.
Actually they’re happy a time in their marriage etc. Yes she was 15 when she married and he was 23/24 so a huge gap mind at that time. But the children , the first years were with her and her aunt/stepmother. After the death of her child (that the aunt wanted to travel back to the capital which Sissi wasn’t agreed) the relation changes etc. It was there where all the obsessions high to the top. It’s 10 years after that they’re find a way back has they’re last child and the end they had.

Her aunt/mother-in-law would bully her saying that Sisi wasn't fit to be empress and that she hadn't fulfilled her duties until she had a son. Her first three children were taken by her mother-in-law, and Sisi was upset that Franz didn't do anything against his own mother to support his wife. Their fourth child was born years later when Sisi was campaigning to have Hungary join the Austrian Empire. By then Franz's mother was dead, so Sisi could raise her child how she saw fit.

He was head-over-heels in love with her their entire marriage, but she felt forced into the marriage and role of empress. She actually hated court life and all of it's rules, and she felt like Franz never took her side against her domineering mother-in-law. She even hated having sex with him.
@@americanfairy you are right but i meant in comparing to the movies it is More realistic and not just portrayed as happy. The Show really shows also the dark sides of the storie.

I just watched season 1 of this show on Netflix and this is not the cast I just watched and from the looks of this one they got married in this but that has already happened in season one there is another season coming so did they recast the entire show for season 2 or is the Netflix one a remake? Me encanta el personaje de Isabel de Baviera de toda la vida y si bien reconozco que las películas de Romy Schneider pueden llegar a ser pastelosas porque la vida no era tan perfecta y su pareja tampoco lo fue, si es verdad que el principio de su relación es el más parecido a la realidad en su momento. La versión de Disney la he visto pero me parece más comercial que otra cosa, no me gusta por ser comercial es demasiado oscura en sus entramados, sin embargo la que hay ahora en Netflix digamos que es un punto intermedio que me parece más verosímil y si vamos a lo verosímil, la miniserie del 2009 es para mi gusto la más acertada. Eso en cuanto a versiones ,en cuanto actrices las que más magnetismo tienen sin duda son Romy Schneider y la italiana de la versión del 2009, la de Disney sin más y la de Netflix, siendo mejor versión para mi gusto, más fiel a la historia, etcétera la actriz me resulta un poco tosca para este personaje.

Nadie nadie puede superar a Romy Schneider como Sissi . Vi hace poco las 3 películas de ella, era encantadora y buena Actriz. Y en un documental que explican su vida, esos vestido y coronas de la serie de Neflix no son las verdaderas. En Viena hay un museo donde están expuestas sus vestidos y réplicas de las coronas u joyas y nada q ver.
Creo que te estás llevando por la romantización del personaje de Sissi de los años 50's, una emperatriz carismática, tierna y todo el resto, idea muy equivocada, en cuanto al vestuario, sabemos que no siguieron al pie de la letra, pero es algo vanal, nadie ve una serie por la vestimenta, a no ser que tengas menos de 15, sumérgete en la historia, ella también quiso explotar su lado de mujer y eso para muchas soñadoras, no les cuadra con el ideal de los años pasados
