    A great way to travel in Thailand is by train. I’ve done the trip to Hua Hin many times and it’s very easy to do. Another popular route is to ride the train to Ayutthaya. Here is a video of that if you want to see.

    Nice job. I want to do this. And stay a week or two there. You see any surfing? I'd like to go and surf and or just STand up paddle board. See any STand up paddle boards for rent there in Hua Hin?

      A week would be about the right amount of time here. I’ve never seen anyone surf but wind surfing seems to be popular. I think you could rent a stand up paddle board also but I’m not sure how much it would be. I do show a bit of the windsurfing in a video I made of just Hua Hin beach. Here is the link if you want to take a look at it. I flew the drone around so you can get an idea about the beach. I hope that helps.

      Even the newer ones with the thicker cushions might be a bit tough for 5 hours on the ordinary. The train does stop often and you can get up and walk around if needed. That is what I do because after a few hours things start to hurt.

    Good one. Well done. Bring eats! I'm retired & easily entertained. The trip itself is a lovely way to pass the time. I'm a sucker for a slow motion train ride; open cars, fresh air, mingle with the indigenous people. I'm in! 44 baht. Unbelievable! Next question is an equally inexpensive place to stay. If not, which I doubt, return same day. Thailand is like Vegas; if you use your head you can play Vegas rather than the other way around. My appetites are few & small. All of S.E. Asia is an outstanding playground!!! 👍🇹🇭🇻🇳🇲🇾🇮🇩🇱🇦🇰🇭❤️

    • @endlessjourneytravels
      @endlessjourneytravels  Год назад +1

      Glad you enjoyed the video. You will really have a good time on the train. The only thing is it can be very hot. Right now it’s going into the rainy season so it’s a much better time to ride on the slow train due to the heat.
      If you want an inexpensive hotel there are many in the area around the train station. I usually stay for around. 400-600 Baht. If you want to book before you go check with agoda.com first. I usually just walk in and find something. The beach is a stone throw from the train station and the old town area around the night market is where all of the cheap hotels are.
      If you want to come back the same day the 44 Baht return train is the same one you go there in. You have to get off, buy a ticket and then get back on the same train. It leaves about 30-40 minutes after you arrive. There are a few other trains but they are more expensive but an option. Another way to go back to Bangkok is by mini bus. There is a booth near the night market with a lady sitting behind a desk. It’s something like 200 Baht and it takes you to Mo Chit in north Bangkok. They leave every hour until 5pm I think. It’s a little harder to find but still easy.
      I hope this helps. Enjoy the trip!

      @@whatsname2649 you are living the dream. I still have to work so I can only do short trips everywhere. There are places that do the monthly rental. I’ve never stayed that long so I don’t have any recommendations for that. There is a large expat community in Hua Hin so it should be easy to find a place. Vietnam is a place I want to really explore. I want to ride my motorcycle from north to south and see everything. I’ve just been to HCM city but I’ve seen videos of people traveling that way and it gives me itchy feet. Lol

      It’s slow and cheap. The long distance trains you see a lot more of the random stuff being carried onto the trains. Going to Hua Hin is basically taking the bus for many of the locals. They do have the express and special express trains that are a/c and skip many of the small stations. I don’t mind the slow train with the oppressive heat. Lol
      Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed this little part of Thailand.

      On this train it’s just 3rd class. There are other trains that offer better seating. A nice site to see the options is train36.com or download the free app SRT timetable. Those are where I go when I trying to plan a trip. This train is also the slowest since it stops at every single station. The rapids and express trains skip most of the out of the way stops. I hope this helps.

      Those are two completely different stations. Hua Lamphong is the old main station. Bang Sue Junction is the old station behind the new main station called Krung Thep Aphiwat station. This train, the ordinary #261 still runs out of the old station at 9:20am. You can catch it from other stations along the way. A good app to use is the SRT timetable app to see routes, times and costs. I hope this helps.
