It looks like they have done a good job of reinvigorating parts of Detroit. I was shocked at how few people you seemed to cross paths with as you filmed until the evening portion when we started to see people. I hope the city is able to make a full comeback someday - including renovating the abandoned neighborhoods and providing jobs for residents. But it does look like the business district area looks like a great place to visit. Thanks for sharing part one of your Detroit trip with us!

I love your videos always. It's always very detailed and well explained. Sure beautiful visuals of Detroit. I visited there in 2009 and seen the beautiful downtown. However, I also seen the ruins of the neighborhood that is abandoned. hat was so sad. The city has not done anything about it. It would be best just to demolish it. I really enjoy your work and the experiences you both have living life to the fullest.
Things have changed incredibly since 2009. The whole city proper is 138 sq miles. There are parts of the city that have been run down since the 1930s. It will take time.

Playing ads, no skipping. I always thought that Detroit was a place you didn't visit anymore. It's cool that youo can see Canada across the waterway! The hotel looks great, and the views are amazing, but you're right, there is a lot of wasted space. I wonder if it has to do with being the headquarters before a hotel. I can see that part of the city is making a comeback, but it does seem like there are a lot of places that you may not want to wander into. I love the river walk and the people mover is cool. Great video, I enjoyed it in full. Like 39, thanks for sharing!

We visited the downtown area of the city and enjoyed what we found with the mix of modern towers and some early 20th century buildings. We also made our way to the Tigers stadium with is huge tiger statues. As you showed though the down town area is not the full story. Change is always difficult. In the UK there is not the space to just abandon places and head elsewhere. Places in decline have to be revived one way or another and new industry and alternative employment encouraged. Interesting to watch your presentation.

We stayed there for a wedding. Imagine being kind of drunk and finding your way to your room from one of the bars they have in there. I was on the wrong elevator. The doors opened to dirt floor and steel because they were remodeling.
