Yes, very touching, It was magical seeing my envelope full of photos and letter go in... WOW being a part f this grand history. We are bonded in a special way.
I didn't send anything but witnessing the closing of the case & wall made me tear up! I really can't imagine I would have anything to contribute, perhaps if I were a wordsmith & could put my emotions for this journey on paper, alas I'm not, so I will just watch & get emotional...
One of the few times I wished to see into the future, to watch those who are lucky enough to uncover this treasure, and see their reactions to the past! So wonderful that you did that, especially with your Grandad's beautiful case!
That was so nice of you to let us in to root through your attic and look at some treasures from the past. Your decision to use your great grandparents case as the time capsule is a great idea Patrick! I can only imagine the excitement 100 years from now when someone investigates and hole in the wall! Thank you both for the entertainment on this Sunday afternoon. Look after yourselves! Big hugs.
This was magical and very touching to see. To be a part of the history of the Chateau is a privilege. I did tear up!!! I just want to say thank you to the both of you for allowing us to be part of this special time capsule! Very special adding your grandparents suitcase Patrick, it made it all the more magical to me. I also loved the time in the attic, love that old wallpaper... very elegant. WOW! Thank you both again its an honor. 😘😘
My dear Cliff. Thank you for being part of this journey. You have been incredibly supportive and caring. So the privilege is ours and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Love as always from Colombe. ❤😊❤. Be well my dear
What a beautiful case from your Grandparents I'm sure it was hard to seal behind the wall. The case was full!! So wonderful. Beautiful touching video. ❤❤
Thank you very It was emotional but through this act, my great-grand parents will be part of a discovery in the future, as will the people who contributed. I think it’s amazing. Love your comment. ❤😊
Stuart you put so much care in packing this lovely time capsule, I can't believe how teary eyed I became during your process of putting each item in. Patrick how kind of you to use your grandparents suitcase as the vessel for your time capsule. Such an unselfish act on your part, this also made me cry. Now your grandparents will be forever watching all your accomplishments not only in your kitchen but throughout the chateau. Stay well and hugs to you all.
AAww I think it's so endearing that you chose to use you grandparents suitcase, because it's part of your legacy that will continue to live long after you as well. It seems that the fun part of owning a chateau is having attics and places to search for treasure. Even the part of the boot you found is very cool because it lets you see what was fashionable at the time, especially with the engraving on the leather. So things like that a a bit of a time castle for you guys as well. It's all very fun!
Thank you so much Lisa. You are such a gem. My great grand parents will now be part of the chateau for another century. Exploring the dark areas of the chateau is fun and amazing. Love and hugs from Colombe to you. ❤😊❤
This time capsule is such a fantastic idea. What fun it will be when someone in the future discovers it and looks through it. I am sure they will have fun trying to figure out what that memory stick is. 😀❤
I'm surprisingly overwhelmed with emotion as you place items in your grandparents case and into the wall! I'm sentimental about things I've collected throughout the years. My home was built in the late 1960's. In the attic I found military (US) issued metal wash basin, helmet and 2 wool blankets all issued when the gentleman who built the house, came home from World War 2. Compared to your found items that's not very long, but they are 80 - 84 years old. I'm 66 and I consider anything older than me...old! LOL! Thank you for taking your time and sharing with us. 🇺🇸
Patrick and Stuart, this was a very touching video. Patrick, your grandparents' suitcase is so special and put to good use. Its condition is pristine. Now you have all those memories in your minds every time you look at that wall. How wonderful is that? I always look forward to your videos and keep them coming. Best wishes and love. Peter ❤
Aww Patrick your case is very precious time capsule, that brought a tear to my eye. I only found your channel a few days ago and currently binge watching every episode, I wish I'd found you sooner. I could have sent you something . Never mind , looks like you have plenty of wonderful items for future finds for someone
Just watched this episode about the time capsule. Having been born in Denmark, now living in Canada, I was thrilled to see the danish soldier. Such a great idea. Love you two guys. Always fun to watch❤️👍
Hi Patrick and Stuart what a lovley thing to do to put past and present together someone in years to come will enjoy opening the capsule and you are right people are curious and it’s also about history of your chateau and it’s owners who lovingly restored the chateau
Really loved this episode. I could well imagine your mixed feelings about using your family suitcase for your time capsule. Much better than sitting unused in an attic for years or ending up in a brocante someday. Hope you put the history of the suitcase in there too.
Loved the revealing of so many special additions to the time capsule. I also love watching your adventures in your attic where so much of the long lost past reminds us of those who came before.
Like alot of others who have commented, i must say i an feeling a little emotional after watching this episode. Once again stewart and Patrick, thanks for sharing ❤❤❤
Ever since you took Ash and Terry up in the attic I have been so wanting to see you go back up there and explore. And the time capsule is amazing. Beautiful idea!
Good morning Patrick & Stuart, this was interesting I think I stopped breathing at stages and so emotional when you closed the case and placed it inside. A case of nostalgia!! It was an amazing video and you have given much food for thought. Many blessings, Elize.
That was a fantastic idea to have a time capsule. But when you spoke about the suitcase, I can see and feel the emotions behind the meaning of it. Oh, to be a fly, (very old fly..lol!!!!), on the wall to see who opens the time capsule.
When we moved into our Art Deco house 40 years ago, we knew that they had had servants there until the late forties. The servants bells were still in the kitchen but what made us really laugh was that there was a call bell next to the built in soap dish in the bathroom. Much discussion as to whether or not it was to summon the maid if you wanted your back scrubbed!!
Way behind on viewing your videos, but that looks quite a wonderful collection of time capsule items. What a beautiful container to hold them all Patrick. Another important milestone met with your restoration of the Château! 🎉
Wow it was a beautiful gift your grandparents suitcase used for the time capsule very special for the next generation of the chateau to find in many many years time beautiful thought, nice video, see you both soon take care 💕🌼🤗
Thank you, Amy! So glad you saw them. I am fairly certain that we ended up inclusing everything that you sent. Some things may have been inside of zip locks with other items or other containers. Hi Gentlemen! Your lovely wicker trunk in your attic may hold a surprise! I have collected lots of wicker items and sadly found that they were infested with woodworm ( UK variety) - it may be wise to check and treat prior to furnishing your guest rooms!! Just a heads up! Keep going!
Hi miriam. Everything wooden in the chateau is always treated for woodworm before going into the rooms. It is unlikely that anything in the attic area with extreme hot and extreme cold temperatures and no moisture content would have woodworm. They tend to thrive in basements, and not attics. Thanks!
Patrick and Stuart you should have put a piece of the wall paper from the attic in the time capsule. That wall paper was beautiful. And maybe an old Christmas Ornament. I’m actually jealous of whoever finds the time capsule. It looked so interesting.
