just got a hero 10 couple days ago hero 9 lags wayyyyy too much and it also freezes wayyyyyyy tooo much so i got the 10 but but when the 9 came out it was a huuuuuge upgrade from the 8 so i do give it some props u know
I actually like the H9's 'lack' of stabilization on the small RC course. I like that there is that movement. Still trying to decide whether to get the 10 since my 9 works well. But that said, I guess the 10 does better in low lighting, which happens in some of my mtb trail rides.
During the RC test, seemed like the 10 had a jitter when trying to eliminate all bouncing like iMovies “stabilize footage” whereas the 9 just kind of smoothed out the bounces
Hello my friend. I'm going to buy gopro for the first time. I've never had a gopro before. and maximum stabilization, which is important to me. Do you think I should buy go pro MAX or gopro 10 ? Gopromax VS Gopro10
Great testing Sean! I have been using Go Pros since about the 4 Black era. The 7 marked a huge improvement with stabilization and the 9 (yes, I skipped purchasing the 8, it was just an experiment that didn't pan out) took it to a new level where you could turn the camera 27% and Horizontal Leveling (HL) kept it smooth and straight. Not sure if everyone understands the improvement with the CP2 processor upgrade. This is a game changer in my opinion. Faster response in every way and now the HL is around 49%. I used the 9 for a year and so glad I picked up the 10 recently. If you use 1 setting, then stick with a 7 or 9, but, if you use slo-mo, low light and other conditions settings, you need the 10. Lastly, the touch screen is 100% better than the 9. Just saying.
The GoPro Hero 10 Black wins hands down, because after paying close attention to the objects in the back ground I noticed in my own opinion there was much less blurring compared to Hero 9 Black...the next generation stabilization must have improve quite a bit.
uhh, or you could just put the sharpness on higher. the hero 10, maybe a little better but it also has a problem like overheating. so if you have the hero 9 it may not be the upgrade.
You and your channel are hands down the best resource for a lot of people. You present awesome information so well packaged. Your videos are a joy to watch. Have a wonderful day!!!
Great job simple and easy. low light sensitivity- night dynamic range or indoors looking through a window on a bright outside day. How does it do on a Frisbee faster fps?
Request for you to test this with ND filters... I'm hoping the Hero 10 will do a better job with lower shutter speeds. It's strange they still offer that Polar Pro set for the Hero 9/10.
Around 6:10 or so you say that the Hero10 has less water built up on its lens but your footage shows the opposite: the Hero9 is much clearer whereas you can see huge globes of light on the Hero10. Am I misinterpreting something?
I don’t think so quite often they want to save these features for the new cameras to entice people to upgrade. But I guess we’ll just have to wait and see
The best stabilization comparison on YT so far. At 3:15, what camera u use for recording both Hero9 and Hero10 on ur Traxxas RC? Thanks for the videos Shawn and cheers from Malaysia. 🙂🙏👍
Hi, I have used "old Sony", but never had any Gopro in my life, so I am looking for an camera that is more stable and of course with better quality. And I'm looking for something I can stream live when I go out on the streets. Can you recommend this "Gopro Hero10"? or is there another option that a smartphone maybe I can go for? Thanks for sharing.
I really wonder how the horizon levelling would work in space in microgravity. Even on the surface of the moon. Will the accelerometers work at all. It’s totally irrelevant but makes me ever so curious.
Stabilisation looks great in the hero 10, but one difference that stood out to me was the Colour, the Hero 10 looks amazing compared with the 9... Thanks for the video, heading out to buy the 10 now
So on the hero 10 there is not much difference between having horizontal leveling and having it on wide. So I assume you have it set to boost in stability. So is it worth using the leveling ?
I guess it just depends on what you are filming. Quite often you want that side to side movement. Just keeping boost on you’ll have a nice wider field of you and the side to side movements will still be smooth and cinematic
I use it quite often when filming the role because I need a wider field of you I haven’t used it for any other application. I’ve been meaning to try it with time lapsing. But haven’t got around to it yet
Very interesting) Into the frame, the GoPro HERO10 Black Edition is on the right, that is mean, when the frame is deployed with the lenses forward, the GoPro HERO10 Black Edition is on the left. But during the demonstration, It is already on the right) Miracles!
Hi. I would love to see a comparison between Max Lens Mod and the latest hypersmooth. Think it could be very interesting. Keep it up, really enjoy your videos
Just curious why people would horizon level if you can just horizon lock? But one thing I did like about the 10 in your comparison was the colours were a lot better in all the video tests
Hero 9 has such good video stabilisation that you really don’t need any better than that. It’s truly incredible how well it performs, I absolutely love mine. I personally think the hero 10 is too stabilised, where you can’t actually tell what’s going on in the video because there is no bouncing or movement at all.
hi everyone I just bought my hero 10 .. I set to 4k 30 with boost .I try to run with it on the rod.. but it's juts not stabilize at all and shaking .. can someone please tell me what setting I need to set in order to make it smooth ? thanks guys

Nice one, Sean! I like your comparison. There is a significant improvement. Is it enough to upgrade from the 9? Probably not. I bought the 10 only because I've used the 9 so much it is pretty beat up although still working great. I'll keep the 9 as a back-up. Keep up the good work!
I dont understand, why when tested on wide pov and boost mode on, when you turn it sideways hero 9 fail to smoothes out the video, but when mounted on rc car, it works fine. I mean the shakiness of rc car and your hand is different
H10 is an amazing camera, but my point is, do you really want to remove all the movement in a action sport camera? I prefer seeing vibration to see how tough it is, not a video as smooth as a drone 😅
You are 100% correct. There are instances especially when trying to capture a few cinematic sequences do you want smoothness. But there are those times you want that movement to make your video a little more engaging and realistic
4:00 - view from hero 10 have small jams and looks like recorded by a robot xD Hero 9 video looks more natural and has better flow. 4:32 - no, Hypersmooth 4.0 is not a little bit smoother (as I wrote above)
I feel like the stabilization is getting a bit too much as the rc car footage just lost it's excitement if you know what I mean, it was too stable you wouldn't of known the thing was on a rc car if it wasn't for the noise.
The difference between 60fps and 120 when it comes to fluid images is almost the same, slow motion obviously will look better, however, like many people have been commenting here, we do not need 5K, it is simply harder to edit on most machines, and even if you wanna upload it to RUclips, on most people's internet speeds and devices will not play smoothly, it is simply a waste of time. I used to be a GoPro super fan, until I had the marvellous experience of owning a DJI Osmo Action. Think about it, while GoPro has released the 7, the 8, 9 and 10...
