Yes well full disclosure that was my third assembly, I ruined one set of bearings, and had the wheels on too tight. Once i found the trick and the sweet spot boy did it shine. On Engines that have the Smoke Gear its pretty easy to upgrade these three bearing locations. I have done the Brush Holder Housing but its tricky. Thanks for watching. D
@@gtngold Came to learn I need to add knurling to the replacement axle shaft. The soft metal wheel hubs are too easy to press on out of square to the shaft. And superglue alone is not enough. I have found a manual knurling tool in my budget that is not a lathe. Although now I am seeing a mini desk top lathe might be in order some day. Wheels, inserts, rims and axle knurling are all critical to good ball bearing install. Making a n inner hub for the hubs will seem required in time. Maybe even making hubs oh My the agony. I hope to get through this soon. But a recent case of shingles has me in very low gear right now. I want to the S & O engines built so badly. And adding ball bearings is a great improvement but this delay hurts me as much as you guys. I may suggest let me move on with brass bushing and send me a 2nd chassis for later. What are your thoughts. D
OK based on feedback I ordered more bearing to complete all 4 Royal Blues with ball bearing axles and armatures. It's not the money, they cost about $1.60 each, I need to assure I have the best fitment and fastening methods, for reliable operation. So these 4 engines will be prototype testors. Before we go whole hog Let's make sure the systems hold up. Thank you all for subscribing, watching and offering your feedback. It really helps when i wake up early and am tired but know i have folks counting on my work. It is truly motivating. I even downloaded a Thingiverse Desk top Phone tripod to help my videos to be more stable for you. All the Best, keep the rolling and smoking!!! D
Looks Great. I’m All in. Boy was that humming!

I'd be happy with it!
@@TalkingGIJoe yes it works out but. I need a life test. D
Ball bearings make a big difference!R
The frictional resistance is higher that you think even on a nice clean engine has drag. I guess i need to order more bearings.
Bet that would fly off the track ! R
It will pull is what i learned. i was squeezing the wheels hard and it barely slowed down. Its gonna need traction rims.
